Anyone know "Fuck the police," in Latin or Ancient Greek?
Cornelius Blathershaw - Wed, 17 Sep 2014 16:07:28 EST Z1v+SCTB No.11730 Reply
maybe... pedicate vigilem

Though unfortunately there's a huge cultural thing here. Latin didn't have police in the sense we do; they had a night watch or vigil. Then there's the fact that Romans were absolutely nasty and had too many non-overlapping equivalents to english profanity.

So while fuck the police is a legit translation of what I said, a more literal translation is "sodomize the nightwatch", with the word for sodomize being especially tied to ancient greek pederasty shit (same pede- as in pedophile too).

Also while fuck the police is kinda rude in English, sodomize the vigil in Latin is about the worst thing you could say about them, period. They didn't care if you liked guys but the worst thing ever was if you liked taking it from guys up the butt. It made you worse than a woman and they were absolutely fucking misogynistic to the point where they didn't really even give girls names.

Oh yeah. Sister's usually had the same name (their dad's name but womanly), so that say Aggripinna and her sister Aggrippina had to be distinguished by Majora and Minora for example. Daughter's had dad's name period, that's it, whereas sons at least got names like "first" "Gaius" or like "Agrippa" or so on.

They were usually distinguished as well by being referred to as [X]'s [name]. Women had it pretty bad even compared to their neighbors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_ancient_Rome

At least in Egypt, the "barbaric" German and Slavic lands, and even the neighboring Etruscans, women had actual legal rights.

Also the entire thing about what was okay and not okay in sex to them: if you were penetrated, you were scum and your morals were compromised. If you were the penetrator, you were pretty awesome. Rape was only wrong because a girl was her dad's stuff and if you raped her she was expected to kill herself. If you were a guy who fucked guys, that's fine, it was only natural. But if you were a guy who got fucked by guys, you were a vain morally weak weak terrible person. Women were property. Kids weren't okay unless you married them though, and even then dads wouldn't usually sell until they were like 16. But that and the fact that they could rub that in the greeks faces (who did the pederasty thing) were the only reasons they really didn't do that.

"Fick die Polizei" is totally possible. I prefer "Scheiss auf die Polizei", though.

In Austrian German: "Scheiss auf de Kiwara (or Kieberer)" or "A Kiwara is ka Hawara" (A policeman is no friend)

I saw some amusing graffiti here in Brussels the other day that said "fuck la police!" even though if the made the effort to say "la" in French they could have also said "nique" which is the French equivalent to fuck.

To be specific, it's fuck in the profane use, the actual slang verb use to engage in the act of fucking is a different word

So people usually shout "Jooden!"

We don't have an equivalent of fuck.

Also out of curiosity I googled for other words and found an article about some slav who said "ti jsi kurwa" to a cop. Apparently the cop spoke the language and arrested the guy, the judge let him go because it was a foreign language or something, really weird.

Does it occur to you how easily telling someone to have sexual intercourse with a police officer might sound like something pleasant?

Not all cultures have a big taboo about love making.

In Turkish for example if you wanted to say fuck the police you'd say "the police are sick". As in they're not feeling well and they might vomit.

In most religions curse words are about either religion, excretion, sex or illness. Not always about all 4 things.

Word to word, 'Fuck the police' would be 'Γαμώ την αστυνομία'
Usually though, during protests, the accepted chant used is 'Mπατσοι, γουρουνια, δολοφονοι'
Translating for optimal sense and not word to word, it means 'Cops are murdering pigs'

Smoke weed every day would be 'Καπνισε χορτο καθε μερα' but I'd propose a more abstract translation, 'Πιες την καθε μερα' which gives the catchphrase a double entendre ("Toke every day" and "Toke [the] each day")

>>11938 Do we have any official answers from native German Speakers yet? (definitely not me, but here goes what I heard from E German Punks, Austrian Exchange Students, and general hooliganism abroad)
as was mention "Fich dich" is wrong. It is literal.
"Fich dich ins Knie," may be the most commonly used. fuck you in the knee.
"die Bulle(n)," the Bull, German slang for Cop, reminds me of the amer.eng. "Pig"
>"Fich die Bullen ins Knie."
"Verpiss dich" I found this morning but cant confirm, ver-pissen, piss-off (acc.), can anyone verify?

so this may be handy- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_police-related_slang_terms

Yes, here: >>11771
You could've just scrolled through the thread, you know?

'Fich dich' is wrong, it's 'Fick dich'. And 'Fick dich' means fuck YOURSELF. You can say 'Fick die Polizei', but when you say 'Fick die Polizei ins Knie' it means TO fuck the police in the knee. As in 'I fuck the police in their knee'. You know what I mean? Through that, the global statement, that all cops should go fuck themselves is lost.

And yes, 'verpiss dich' means fuck off. In this police context you can use it as follows:
'Verpiss dich, Bulle'

or as sometimes heard in demonstrations and the like:
'Bullen (or Nazis or whatever you want to insult) verpisst euch, keiner vermisst euch!'
(= 'Pigs fuck off, no one misses you')

And some more Austrian words for police:
(= 'hat rack')

die He'
(comes from 'die Höhe' and is a word originating in the revolution year of 1848, means 'the police', not single police man)

Albanian was my first language but I don't know shit of it anymore. I assume it'd be something like "qifshe polici" which I guess literally means fuck police, or maybe "qij policine", but I'm not sure that's how you'd really say it. Albanians have lots of weird cuss words. In new York apparently lots of Albanians call cops "Daja", which is your mothers brother. But I would go around saying fuck your mothers brother to cops. I'm curious if anyone here speaks well enough Albanian to help me out here.
