Not sure where else to post this other than this board. I was recently hired for a complaint investigator / code enforcement job for an incorporated village in New York and was wondering if its strange that I have not been asked to take a drug test. There was no Pre-employment test nor any mention of getting tested and the fact they already hired me. Granted I have only worked one week so far and I have a 6 month probation period. Since they didn't test me before I was hired I would assume they would try and test me sometime during that probation period. I would rather not ask the people I work with if they got testing so I don't throw up any red flags, but for some reason I feel I wont get tested because I'm basically hired or maybe that's just me being optimistic. If anyone has this type of job or knows someone who does any advice would be nice, I just want to be able to smoke.

Just keep on keeping on.

Just, do not look like drugs or anything. Don't worry.

Drug testing is expensive. Corporations do it for insurance reasons, but govenment jobs usally dont care or cant afford it.
