What kinds of music does the modern stoner listen to? Can be stereotypical, or more factually consistant.

Either sludge metal type stuff or juggalo horrorcore. At least IRL stoners I've met. Then again, there are a lot of pot smokers but not many stoners. Most kids smoking today are listening to generic mumble rap and pop music. Weed is so very mainstream now that it doesn't have much identity anymore other than some dudeweedlmao amongst teenagers just discovering it.

I'd say Tame Impala, but that's more of a /psy/ thing. Indie music in general seems pretty legit. Not to sound hipster or anything, but my local college radio station plays indie 12 hours every day and almost every song is not just good, but engaging.

Also, stoner metal. It's nothing special, but it's like relaxed metal that you can drone out to when you're blitzed.

I used to listen to a lot of psybient when getting manipulated, but that's still more of a /psy/ thing.

Depends on the group or stoners. I know some groups that only listen to white people reggae. Some listen to rap. I listen to ambient music, some kinds of classical music, some kinds of metal and harsh noise. I know people that are the same way, but I also know people that would go home if that kind of music was playing while they were somewhere.

Technically there's tons. I think a lot of things become stoner music just because of the lyrical content.

I don't think there are factually consistent stoner artists. Sure there are Hendrix and Bob Marley and whatnot but I think those fall under stereotypes. Anyway here are some samples of what I'd consider stoner music (based on stereotypes, contact with stoners and personal experience(all of them)).

And these are only songs about weed, not just artists associated with it

Everybody is a stoner now.
So everything, unironically.

I loved relaxed uplifting tunes when i used to smoke. No depressive or harsh shit. Boards Of Canada was lit without the Illbient tunes. That sludgefest music is a meme. Chill and relax mane.

You seem like the kind of person I would hate chilling with while stoned. I like music that makes me feel things. The most intense feelings are often depressive and harsh.
