I fucking love his cover of Alone and Forsaken when you can hear the years of alcohol abuse in his voice.

I always feel bored listening to Nirvana. If duplo was music, it would sound like Nirvana.

Kurt's lyrics are nice, but everyone else is just falling asleep at their instruments. Especially that guitarist.

Never heard that Peel session Spiritualized version of Sound of Confusion even though I consider myself a massive fan of both SM3 and Spiritualized. Thanks.

I like some of their live stuff, they have a bit more energy there. The song he sings on that one Earth live album is dope. But in general I think they're a bit one dimensional as a band.

No amount of energy can change the fact that all of their songs can be played with two fingers. It's just a very basic composition, but not in a cool, intentional minimalist way, more like a lame "I never bothered to learn music theory" way.

also my contribution

The Cure are great and I don't really listen to Dinosaur Jr. other than their first album and a couple hits, but they absolutely killed this, probably a lot of that comes from the fact I like their style of music more, at least a bit

While not a direct cover, Billy Barrix' "Cool Off Baby" is heavily inspired by Elvis Presley's Baby Let's Play House and is a better tune in my opinion.

Speaking of The King, I think his cover of Ray Charles' "I Got A Woman" is better than the original.
