I can't be the only one who is amazed by the fact that Necrophagist were the first tech death band. Their first album holds up to this day. Especially against bands like Inferi, the Faceless, and others. I'm not super well versed in the tech death history, but Necrophagist blew my mind when I hears theird first album from 1999! Absolutely amazing.

Any other early recommendations? I need them. I've been on a Darkthrone and Emperor binge so I need some more good tech death in my life.

Thank you.

Not saying Darkthrone and Emperor are tech death, I've just been listening to them a lot and I need a break lmao

I'd like to hear what Death Techno would sound like.
Techno with the texture and aggression of Death Metal.

Atheist and Gorguts are great. Atheist has a bit of a jazzy feel, while Gorguts are straight fucked.
I'd add Nocturnus. Their album The Key is pretty technical, and has a cool spacey vibe. And of course, if you aren't familiar with Death you should check them out too. They got pretty technical starting with Human.

What about metal that's generated purely by tech and streamed 24/7?
