I haven't been here in a long time but I remember coming here around 2008-2009 alot and finding good shit. 420chan's music board may not have the same kind of own subculture as 4chan's, but on the other hand people focus on posting music more than arguing on who's more patrician and what stuff people only pretend to like.
The best thing here though is the ability to post mp3's, so thanks /m/ for back in the day showing me Colour Haze, Buckethead, Kyuss, Animal Collective, Pretty Lights, Amon Tobin, and other stuff I can't recall at the moment.

Bruh, I found so much music due to this board.

I love the "bump when listening" thread, it's got everything.

Helped me get into some sick 90s Memphis rap, specifically someone posted that Blackout tape like 5 years ago. Love that shit.

I don't post here as often as I used to (used to tripfag as "elasticdemand"), but the stuff I found on /m/ back in college around those years really helped me branch out into artists and genres besides Metal. Lots of psytrance, indie rock, j-pop, nerdcore, and dumb remixes and meme tracks from the Lulz Compilations we put together when we were one of the few chans that allowed MP3 uploads. Mad nostalgia. Doesn't seem like many people take advantage of the file upload ability anymore thanks to YouTube and streaming, which is a shame.

I also saved a shit ton of songs from random 420chan musicians over the years. Some great stuff that I would literally never be able to find anywhere else ever again. I'd be devastated if my server died and I lost all of it. Hope the other oldfag homies have stuff from that era backed up too.
