Video for a mix

I want to upload a mix I made to youtube. Which program should I use to make the video? I simply want to add an image to the mix, that's all.

So far, I have tried:

iMovie: The file ended up being 100 gigabites.
Camtasia: The file size is alright but the audio is really low for some reason.
Final Cut: Similar to iMovie, the file ends up being gigantic for some reason.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am a massive noob.

it never does but YouTube is a video platform and most people will expect or want to see a video, even if it's just a still image in a mix. It's just how it is today. It also makes the mix more memorable for people and gives them something to relate to. I know it's cynical to follow marketing rules but you have to be a little cynical to gain traction. You don't put a video on YouTube without wanting people to see and share it to begin with.

A couple of things you could try, not sure if you've tried already:

Compress audio (use 320 mp3 instead of wav)
In FCPX if it's just a single image you're placing on it you could maybe set a low framerate so there's less to render. Like I think it'll be rendering your image at [framerate]*[time] so if you have 1 hour = 3600 seconds at 24fps, that's 86,400 images
Use the program Handbrake to compress the file output by FCPX/iMovie

I always find the videos I make in FCPX always have huge file sizes too, not sure if there's something I'm missing or some noob mistake I'm making 😅 Handbrake does a good job though

This is a mix I had a track on recently, and the uploader did this kinda nifty animated video, I'm sure I remember him mentioning that it was a massive file
