Does UFC actually license copyrighted music for their shows? I googled and saw fans complaining some songs were edited on Ultimate Fighter. I'm watching on UFC TV and already heard a few legit songs. Do they pay to use this music on their streaming service? Or is it some kind of loophole where it's only background music for the arena? Ronda Rousey says suicide crossed her mind after first UFC loss View Thread Reply Hide Cyborg Santos - Thu, 18 Feb 2016 01:14:35 EST b/JS5SQc No.56771 File: 1455776075474.jpg -(219281B / 214.14KB, 1000x750) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size. >On a segment that will appears on Tuesday's episode of Ellen, an emotional Ronda Rousey told host Ellen DeGeneres that she contemplated suicide following her November 2015 loss to Holly Hom.>The former UFC champion appeared on the show to help promote her Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover, but the first part of their conversation centered around her title loss to Holm, the first time she's truly opened up on camera about that night. At first, subdued and serious, she said that things weren't perfect going into the fight but that's how things go. She cited that it was her third title fight in nine months and that she felt tired, but nothing too out of sorts with other fights she's had.>She said that Holm's first shot "knocked out on her feet", cutting open her mouth and knocking her teeth loose. She lost her depth perception and that she was swinging blindly.>She then got choked up when talking about what happened in the locker room afterward. She said she thought, "What am I anymore if I'm not this?" and said she had thought about "killing myself" and that she was "nothing" before looking up to boyfriend and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne. She said she saw him, thought that "I need to have his babies and to stay alive" and that he was meant to be there at that time. >She said she does want to fight Holm next and to be the one that beats her.How would you feel knowing that you contributed to bullying Ronda to suicide by saying mean things about her /mma/? 38 posts and 10 images omitted. On top of that strikes to unarmoured or lightly armoured areas are not allowed, this totally removing any historical type of armoured fighting tactics which naturally was all about bypassing the armour. The vast majority of the injuries unsurprisingly come from joints being injured during takedowns and scrums. With nastier injuries turning up when either the organisers don't care about safety (eastern europe) or a competitor is an idiot and doesn't wear good armour. Or of course someone just getting unlucky and taking a hard hit to a lightly armoured location. >> Brian Stann - Wed, 27 Apr 2016 14:58:20 EST Q5SMxzbE No.57032 Reply 1461783500995.jpg -(229331B / 223.96KB, 1600x900) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyz1eJoSeIYHistorically, I have a shameful history of becoming overexcited at novelty. >> Kendall Grove - Sun, 17 Apr 2016 05:12:28 EST /XPO135d No.56957 Reply This kind of thing is a joke from a historical stand point but also funny to watch. The rules basically reduce it to armoured grappling (which would actually be cool to see) but to try and pretend it is "close to real medieval fighting" they force them to hold weapons at all times. The armour they wear has to be a certain thickness and the weapons have to be specially made to be "safe".

I wouldn't fault either the ref or the other fighter for this, just seems like it was an unfortunate accident. Reminds me of that old story about pro wrestler The Great Khali training in California where the guy he was training with suffered a severe concussion but didn't tell anyone and so when Khali powerbombed the guy during a training drill it killed the guy. Seems similar here where Carvahlo just took one too many shots to the head and likely would have died either way after this fight regardless of the stoppage.
