won't be until like November at the earliest, but it will probably get pushed back again, then he'll fight a nobody can and probably win so he'll wait for another 4 months minimum for another fight, he'll probably get another scrub and win again, wait another 4 months, then he'll probably get some washed up veteran like Phil baroni to fight him and he'll probably lose that one.

Probably 2 more years I'd say he's in the UFC minimum, then to get back to WWE he has to swallow his pride and make up with Vince, or worse Vince will die and HHH will be in control and he won't even come back then.

C.M. Punk shit himself.
The referee picked up his shit.
The shit was never shown on television, because Smackdown is taped two days before it airs.
C.M. Punk told everyone he shit himself to build interest in the match.

He even Tweeted out that he shit his pants in the match to try and get people to watch it. Then WWE made him take down the Tweet, so he sent out another one saying "This shit aint fun no more"

Also the reason he shit himself is because WWE's in house Doctor is a quack who over prescribed him z-paks to cure his staph infection he refused to lance, and Punk had lost all control of his bowels as a side effect.
He was in a bad way health wise when he left WWE.

Lot's of guys (Brock lesnar, Robbie Lawler) do not do full contact camps. Lawler doesn't do it because he realizes you'll just go brain dead being punched in the face repeatedly over years of fighting, and Brock didn't do it because his face was worth too much money, like making millions in the WWE before and after UFC. Ronda doesn't let anybody hit her in the face either

Weird, I could see him being outsized at LHW, but Middleweight seemed to be a good weight class for him. He's not a tiny dude, so to cut all the way down to 170 after he's been walking around at 200+ for like a decade seems to be uncharted waters. Unless he's become a world class BJJ grappler over the past couple of years then I don't really see him having any sort of advantage at Welterweight. He would be completely sapped of his strength and I can see him getting wrestlefucked and out-striked at 170 unless he fights an absolute tomato can.

Keep in mind you absolutely cannot ever go by the billed weight or even height of a wrestler. They billed him as 6'2" and 218, so he's probably more like 6' 190ish tops. I'm 6'3" and when I was roughly his build I weighed around 190. He just does not look 200+ at all. Look at it this way, this is Cris Weidman who is a verified 6'2" and 185, he's a little bigger but fights at 30lbs+ less than what CM Punk was billed as. If he's been taking this seriously, then he's probably already within 15-20 pounds of making 170 which can be dropped in the last few days prior to the fight like any other fighter does.

Mark Hominick - Wed, 18 Nov 2015 15:46:00 EST ID:+WM20g4a No.56534 Ignore Report Quick Reply
Dana probably had plans for cyborg to be the one to dethrone Ronda. That way, Ronda lost to a foreign monster heel and they can build up Ronda's redemption in front of a rabid USA crowd that will chant USA USA USA and will Ronda to overcome the odds.

Instead, she jobbed to some unknown who not just beat her but squashed her completely. I don't think the rematch will draw more. The casuals only saw Ronda completely brutalized by a jobber.

Your scenario will only work if UFC pushes Holm to the moon and she goes over dominantly establishing herself as the new beast of WMMA for Ronda to return and gain redemption but Dana might be too salty to make a new star and find a way to screw her out of her title.

Rousey ditched UFC 200 too so won't be back until November. There's UFC's happening in Croatia and Holland around that same too so no Reem VS Miocic they'll do them there. McGregor isn't a sure bet for 200 either due to possible medical suspensions after win or lose 197.

This is looking good for Cormier who wanted to be on the ufc 200 card for Jones VS Cormier 2
CM Punk (Team Asuka) !uhdacqdci6 - Tue, 19 Jan 2016 16:01:43 EST ID:s7PHVekK No.56720 Ignore Report Quick Reply
I have to doubt that. It would likely be too soon for McGregor to fight again, especially if he loses or gets injured. Same with Holly Holm. Cruz vs Dillashaw didn't exactly light the world on fire (but it was a very technical bout) and Cruz will probably be injured for another four years anyways. Joanna is fighting earlier in the week on the TUF finale. GSP is a wild card on even returning, and there's no way he'd do the Anderson Silva superfight now that Silva has been popped for PEDs. Silva fighting Luke Rockhold isn't exactly a "loaded" main event considering Rockhold hasn't had a chance to prove himself as a draw yet and Silva will be one fight removed from a PED failure (and that's assuming he beats Michael Bisping, which he probably will, without getting popped again). We don't even know how the PED failure is going to affect Silva's draw power yet. Robbie Lawler vs Carlos Condit would be a hell of a rematch, but I don't know that it would draw a UFC 100 number. The heavyweight division didn't draw for the Werdum vs Velasquez fight, and now that the myth of Velasquez is exposed, I don't think either of them as champion will help the buyrate. As >>56717 says, Jones vs Cormier 2 seems like the only real big fight 200 could definitely have that will bring a good buyrate. Hopefully things pan out well and McGregor can be on the show.

>Former WWE Champion C.M. Punk's first opponent in the UFC is now confirmed: Mickey Gall.

>The 24-year-old steamrolled through Mike Jackson Saturday on the Fight Pass portion of UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas, submitting Jackson in just 45 seconds and taking no damage in the process.

>During his post-fight promo, Gall said he was still just thinking about one man, saying "I'm hungry...feed me CM Punk!"
kek. u cheeky cunt Mickey

>Punk then got in the cage, shook hands with Gall, and the two had a conversation. Punk didn't get on the mic, which was odd, but did square off with Gall.

>Punk then did an interview with Ariel Helwani in the back and didn't add much, other than that he was excited but still doesn't know a date. He said he'd like to do UFC 200, but that it wasn't up to him. He did reveal that AJ Lee is writing a book.

>Dana White was at cageside for the fight and also did an interview with Helwani backstage. He put over Gall quite a bit and discussed how he'd deal with the pressure. White said they'll announce something soon, alluding to June and saying that everyone wants to be on UFC 200 in July.

>The 37-year-old Punk (real name Phil Brooks) has had quite a week already with media as an interview with Complex went sour quite quickly and has been covered by several outlets already.

Punk Vs. Gall was never going to headline UFC 199. It's hard to say if it would even make the main card on UFC 199, but it will definitely be a prelim on UFC 200. This is all about money, really. The amount he would make off his UFC 200 fight + IFW appearances would definitely dwarf ha UFC 199 payday.

Dana probably panicking at the state of UFC 200 and desperately trying to shill CM Punk promos all through fight night . McGregor likely can't fight at 200 (medical suspension unless he emerges magically unhurt from next fight), Honda can't fight, Reem and Miocic are being saved for Euro UFCs immediately after, Cain can't be relied upon to fight at 200 so will have to find Werdum a 5th rated heavyweight or something, basically only Ben Rothwell. Cormier and Jon Jones likely won't be there either because of medical suspensions.

So we have Rothwell VS Werdum, and CM Punk vs guy who destroyed 0-0 boxer for the 200 main card.

Gonna be waiting a little longer, it seems.

>CM Punk's UFC debut has been delayed.

>The former WWE champion turned MMA fighter is scheduled to undergo back surgery in Chicago on Wednesday due to a herniated disc, MMAFighting.com has learned.

>Punk, née Phil Brooks, has been battling a lingering back injury from his years as a professional wrestler. Recently, the injury worsened.

>"My back has always bugged me," Punk told MMAFighting.com. "Figured it was just wrestling sh*t. Turns out it was.

>"It got bad enough to the point where I couldn't do anything the week before I went to train with the New Jersey Devils last month. One day I could manage, the next day I couldn't. I've been in agony for almost a month. Chiropractor, acupuncture, massage, cryotherapy ... nothing worked."

>On Saturday, Punk learned that he would be facing 24-year-old Mickey Gall in his debut after Gall defeated fellow UFC newcomer Mike Jackson via first-round rear-naked choke. Coincidentally for Punk, he was advised by his doctor right before the fight that he needed surgery, but Punk decided to keep that news for himself.

>Punk announced that he had signed with the UFC in Dec. 2014. A shoulder injury this summer delayed his debut, but the UFC had recently announced that the plan was for him to make his highly-anticipated Octagon debut this summer. While those plans will change now, Punk's recovery post-surgery is expected to be four-to-six weeks so his intention is still to fight at least once in 2016. Punk noted his injury and surgery is very similar to the one former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez underwent last week.

>"This is just a bump in the road," he said. "I'm positive about this."

lol Rampage didn't even block a single strike, no wonder he got KO'd by someone throwing punches as Nick Diaz.

UFC 200 - Punk vs. Gall

how's punk's back? i guess he's got a built in excuse for when he loses. it doesn't matter though, he'll still be a draw unless he gets really embarrassed.

I think once the hernia is cut there is no need for a long resting period it's not like a fracture or some ligament-snap and the operation itself don't cause much damage.

I might be wrong

Four Months is a plenty of time to heal up. What remains to be seen is if he can get training in.

The better question is will Dana make him cover up the pepsi tattoo with a rebok sticker? or will he have to get it lazered off before the fight?

A jobber is someone whose job it is to make someone else look like a star. In wrestling 'doing the job' is losing. Someone who loses, or 'jobs', consistently is a jobber.

It's all but official, August 20th, Punk v Mickey Gall happens at UFC 202 (Dana White pls no ban )
FS1 will be airing a docu-series chronicling Punk's training/preparation for the fight in the run up to the PPV.
I would like to apologise to the MMA Board in advance for all the psycho mental case wrestling fans who will be invading this place very soon spewing their bile and venom and projecting their abandonment issues onto Punk and hoping he gets killed in the octagon, and other such psycho mental ramblings you are going to be seeing a lot of on the near future.
As a wrestling fan I am absolutely ashamed of those people and they do not represent us regular fans who are emotionally mature and mentally healthy and competent enough to realise he is free to do whatever he likes and he doesn't owe anyone any more pro wrestling.
I wish him the best of luck and hope he does not get hurt.
But I am aware he is going to get slaughtered.
Let's be real here.

Clay Guida - Fri, 10 Jun 2016 08:17:39 EST ID:0Va9jrOK No.57178 Ignore Report Quick Reply

Nah, WWE does not own the CM Punk name and he chose to use it in MMA. I don't recall the legal details but I think Brooks personally owns the rights to the CM Punk name and he's used it since he was backyard wrestling as a teenager.

Whether he wins or loses in his debut is meaningless, he is extremely popular and is promoting himself as a 'brand' now outside of pro-wrestling, this shit is mostly for publicity like when Bastita got into MMA and almost lost to that fat guy who was like 10 years older than him. We know very few pro-wrestlers will ever get into MMA and be the next Brock Lesnar, though someone like Baron Corbin might do ok if he got training and packed on some muscles since he has decent boxing and real wrestling experience.

IDK, just ranting.

yeah, punk is credited as CM Punk on his comic books. UFC used to refer to him as Phil "CM Punk" Brooks, but now it just says cm punk: http://www.ufc.com/fighter/cm-punk?id=

what does /mma/ think would sound better coming form Buffer?

  1. CM Punk
  2. Phil "CM Punk" Brooks

CM Punk. Phil Brooks is too generic of a "Firsty McLastname", like Glenn Jacobs or Matt Brown, to work with a nickname like that.

I don't come here often either, but I wanted to share these CM Punk UFC 203 crossfades on /mma/ and I figured I probably shouldn't make a separate thread.

He didn't look that bad actually, He can at least take a punch without flinching too much. He should go to Kron Gracie's JJ school and just work on that straight for 2 years while fighting in Bob's Regional amateur FC.
