Why the fuck has this dude not had to defend yet? Makes UFCS so degraded to be giving McGregor such a massive push just for the publicity he garners. I want Diaz to fuck him up again or let him be stripped of the belts and leave already.

Championships have been a joke in the UFC for awhile now. It's been all about big money superfights instead of merit-based athletic competition for years now.

It could be argued the UFC will be in trouble in the long term. With 54 shows a year they are thinning out the cards and not promoting new stars. 2017 had two events that broke 1 million PPV buys, in comparison to 2016 which had 6. Their PPV buys are going down because it relies on stars, something in which the UFC are not creating.

Again, everybodies TV ratings are in a decline, and for the purpose of this argument, which you have made to be wrestling vs fighting. WWE IN THEIR DECLINE are still getting higher ratings than ANY UFC on FOX card.

UFC fight pass hasn't even hit 1 million subscribers yet, hell I'd be surprised if it had hit 500k.

UFC has become boxing. They have so many titles that they've killed the value of being champion. The titles themselves don't draw anymore. It is big personalities and grudge matches that draw now. It's funny because Dana White used to shit about boxing for having alphabet letter belts that nobody cared about, and now, he has champions who people have never seen fight and belts (women's flyweight, for example) that your average fan don't even know are being contested.

Dana only bitched about boxing because he could never find an in on the sport. After two decades he finally found his in with Mayweather and now he wants more.

I think eventually UFC's PPV buyrates will decline to the point that they'll include their PPVs for free as part of Fight Pass ala WWE Network.

I don't think the UFC will ever abandon the PPV market because despite its current problems, it's still lucrative for them. If they ever start losing money on PPV events then I could see them cutting back on PPV's and putting them on TV or Fight Pass instead, but they still make a lot of money. They just don't make as much PPV money as they used to since UFC is in a pretty bad lull.

And now Conor’s got a warrant out on him. What a dumbass.

Yeah UFC is kinda immune from that but they gotta make more stars.

I'm guessing the fighters that lost a PPV payday will sue McGregor in civil court to get the money back that they lost. The UFC owners might either fine McGregor (not sure how their contracts work and if they allow fining fighters for conduct detrimental to business) or take him to court as well to try and recoup whatever losses they can prove they lost from this event because McGregor causes 3 fights to get dropped.

McGregor's licenses could be revoked by various State Athletic Commissions, too. Seems like it's only a matter of when he gets pulled over by cops with a shitload of coke on his person and/or in his system and then he's probably done fighting for a long ass time, or possibly for good.

Good lord, and now Max Holloway couldn't get cleared by the NYAC because he was trying to cut like 35 lbs or some shit in 6 days like a madman. This card is cursed.

Ragin' Al Iaquinta is now fighting Khabib in some sort of weird catchweight fight where Khabib is fighting for the title and Al is just fighting for money and pride.

I wish I could collect the heads of all the morons saying this is a publicity stunt, just lop them off en masse, like with a combine harvester or something, and float them out to sea like coconuts.

The shit he pulled in Bellator certainly looked like he was spending his days diving into a giant pile of cocaine like a gopher.
