It’s been confirmed the blockbuster franchise is returning for a fourth instalment, with original stars including Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity.

The sci-fi movie will be directed by longtime Matrix helmer Lana Wachowski and produced by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow.

I've heard Black Lightning and iZombie are decent shows. Lucifer moved to Netflix but I dunno if it actually improved the show's quality or not but I'd probably pass.

I doubt Lovecraft knew enough about the light spectrum to know it's impossible, or maybe he did and that's the point.
Still, it's better than the Bierce story he got the idea from; The Damned Thing. It's about a predatory animal or something that's a colour on the non-visible spectrum, rendering it invisible.

Breaking Bad is trash

BB has an atrocious structure as a series. It feels like fanfiction, where the author introduces subplots and characters because they thought that they would be interesting to write, only to eventually lose interest and have the subplots lead nowhere and the characters end up being underdeveloped and completely unnecessary to keep in the story. Writing on the fly with no plan outlined from the beginning can work, but the author has got to have a knack for it, and the author of BB clearly doesn't.
I watched three seasons of this shit, and I'm going to list examples as to how the show is bad.
  1. The showrunner repeatedly writes situations that are entirely predictable based on the structure of the show strongly nudging the plot in a certain direction. Take episode two of season one as an example: in the previous episode, White fatally gassed the two gangsters that attempted to make him work for them, only in this episode it turns out that one of the gangsters survived, so White has to deal with him. The episode had two options as to where it could go: either he kills the gangster, making the entire episode pointless, because that character should have died together with his cousin, or the gangster's going to escape and become a recurring threat for the rest of the show; both options are terrible, but the second one is worse, and I wasn't sure watching the episode that the writer won't go with it; in the end, of course, they went with the first option, and it was so predictable that I could barely finish watching the episode because the entire thing felt like filler. (The episode felt so strange that I checked out the behind the scenes stuff, and it turned out that the showrunner liked the gangster's actor so much that he wasted an entire episode on fucking nothing because he wanted to work with the actor some more. Just terrible. People who make such ill-advised decisions shouldn't be showrunners.)
Or take the DEA in-law. He's a boob, a simpleton, and he obviously isn't fit to be the character who puts a stop to the protagonist's activities, him doing so would have been anticlimactic and terribly disappointing, so his presence in the show serves no purpose but to make the dummies in the audience who are clueless as to how plots are structured feel tense whenever the two characters interact. And yet the showrunner treats his character as if he's important, devoting entire episodes to develop his character, whom I knew from the start would in the end accomplish absolutely nothing. Maybe he does something in the last two seasons, but then either he should only be introduced in the season in which he becomes important, or, if he has to be introduced earlier, he should be entirely a background character of whose presence the audience is reminded every so often so he isn't forgotten, but not too much time must be spent on him. Instead, we got the worst option possible.
Or White's arguments with his wife. It's an ironic thing where he started making drugs to take care of his family, but the changes the drug lord lifestyle inflicted on him have made him distant from it; it's an expected thing from stories like that, but it's a solid thing to do and definitely time should be dedicated to that plot line. Except that it was the entire first two fucking seasons. Half the running time of every episode was the protagonist bickering with his wife. We know where it's going: sooner or later she's going to discover that he makes drugs and break up with him because of that, stop wasting my fucking time. Of course, that's exactly what happens: the wife finds out, freaks out, packs her bags and leaves… only she doesn't fucking leave, she remains on the show despite her character having served her purpose and having nothing more to do with the story. Ricockolous.
  2. Bad characters and attempts at character development. The story's supposed to be about a meek chemistry teacher becoming a notorious drug lord, only that transformation is very schizophrenic. In the third episode of the first season White finally adopts the Heisenberg persona, only to immediately abandon it and come back to being the meek chemistry teacher. Now, while that's not the type of character development I expected, — I expected a smoother shift —, it could still work, with the protagonist switching to the drug lord persona more and more often, with the persona be…

THE GREAT HACK was very good and much deeper than I thought it would be

There's a doc about TICKLING AND A BIZARRE, DANGEROUS FETISH WORLD OF MEN BEING TICKLED. I won't give any more away, watch it

BEHIND THE CURVE, about the flat earth movement was amazing, and gentle while being truly hilarious and even kinda moving.

Every thing Louis Theroux does is pure gold. Watched a great doc on TESLA, and both THE UNKNOWN WORLD AND THE MOST UNKNOWN ARE GOOD SO FAR BUT I NEED TO FINISH THEM.

Anyone else think tommys charaCter is pretty overacted? He says so cheesy "passionate" lines that make it sound like some corny action movie. I think it escalated the further the seasons progressed and become more and more cheesy ... am I the only one who thinks this?

Big spoiler Also the crooked jolly african-american cop killing the sister girl was a little far fetched, only a complete crackhead would pull that off, there's no logical reason for him to kill her taken into account the brother is nearby and could easily identify him as his sisters murder. A very compulsive not thought out move ... a hole in the story imo. But at the same time maybe im just being a whore about it, the show would be shit if things like this dont happen hypothetically ... even if its a inconsistent plot

I've only watched the first three seasons so far but I get what you mean about Tommy. I mean the parts where he was grieving over Holly's death and the scenes with her felt a bit over the top and corny but the other stuff when he's interacting with Ghost is done well given their dynamic having grown up and built their drug empire together. I guess it really depends on the situation and the dialogue he's given.

>I think it escalated the further the seasons progressed and become more and more cheesy ... am I the only one who thinks this?

Like I think Power is a good crime drama and certainly has improved since the first season though Ghost getting arrested and locked up but that he'll end up getting off seems pretty predictable to me. I definitely will try to get back into it especially with the final season coming up though.

So many bad reviews for this one, People tune in for 20 minutes and feel they need to trash it without giving it a chance.

First 40 minutes suck but then it gets pretty into its own little groove, pretty trippy and a shame it bombed in the theatres.

I'm watching season 2 now, it's good. Son of Sam was great. BTK was the most bumbling, annoying serial killer of all, it's kinda neat how it always peaks in on him but I can't wait to see his epic fail.

Remember this is real, I have two audio books about these guys, I hope there's a bunch of dramatic shit I don't expect. Cause some of the procedural stuff "OMG leik they are going to investigate us, wat now, the tapes!"
"I need you to watch over Holden"
"is Holden OK?"
OMG panic attack.....

Is a bit slow. But the acting is so good and the criminals are played so well I keep tuning in.

If you wish more shows had smart dialog this is the show for you. Don't expect cheap scares or cheap cliff hangers. Expect the cerebral and pay attention.

Catching BTK would be kinda weird since he wasn't caught for a another 25-ish years after the show's setting. It'd be strange unless the show ended with a time skip. Also, the way BTK got caught was pretty anti-climactic.

So the boards are back up again after being down for almost a week. What the fuck have you been watching bruh??

>True Detective s3
Way better than season 2 but not as good as season 1. That's not to say this season hasn't been great, it's just been more of a slow burn. The finale airs this Sunday and I'm really looking forward to it.

>Doom Patrol
Only one episode out so far but it's pretty promising for a pilot. Having the antagonist being the narrator is fun and the show is meta without being Deadpool-on-head levels of Random XD. Some people are saying that it's already better than Titans after a single episode... I don't know about all that, but it definitely gives me hope for Swamp Thing coming out later this year.

>Umbrella Academy
Gave it a shot and I got bored 3 episodes in. I'm all for more comic shows that aren't from the Big 2, but not if they're like this. Not trying to hate on the show, maybe it just isn't for me, but it feels like that Wes Anderson X-Men parody already did it better. (Source btw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UngE0qn3VRY )

it's not an amazon original but there's some adaptations of Discworld novels that are pretty great, I have no idea how to describe who might like them though. Whenever I do that I feel like I miss the mark and someone is like "oh I don't think I'd like that" and it's just because of my bad description.

Anyhow, The Hogfather and Going Postal are what they're called. I guess I'd say fans of Douglas Adams might like the Discworld novels, same kind of light wit, Pratchett's less lolrandom than Adams, but still doesn't take things too seriously.

I decided to check if there's been any adaptations after watching Good Omens, which I thought was pretty good, because I saw Terry Pratchett in the credits and didn't know until then he was part of that.

With so many streaming services nowadays it makes me wonder how come there aren't any services where you pay one monthly bill that covers all of the services that you choose to pay for. Kind of like an old cable subscription except for media streaming since you'll likely end up paying the same price you would normally for cable after trying to get every single streaming service on the internet. How come this isn't a thing yet?

I'll be front and center.
I have tons of audio books and epubs. I pay for Netflix cause it's a good service at a great price. They want to get greedy and atomize everything they'll get what's coming to them.

I can't just read and learn all I can afford, the genie is out of bottle and it's my moral imperative to download the best of culture. Why should I be left behind cause I can't afford all I want to know?

This has been happening for a while now. What media companies fail to realize is that it isn't about how much something costs, it's the ease of access that's the real determination.

Tons of people enjoy the weekly episode release model because it encourages and supports discussion. But when you charge for it, you just push the pirates to attain episodes with the least effort required.
