Tambor's character is barely in it anymore, it's mostly an ensemble cast now and they coincidentally were already thinking about writing off his character this season since they didn't pick up his fifth season contract option and contract talks haven't gone well.

Completely talking out of my ass here (our respected "insider" from a couple weeks back should chime in), but I'm inclined to believe Tambor that he likely was just a crotchety asshole on set and behind the scenes to his assistants and coworkers and was never sexually preying on or hitting on the trans people claiming he sexually harassed them. I get the feeling this and other incidents will start to drown out the real problem of fucking pedophiles and scumfuck predators in the industry because of a deluge of much less severe incidents being highly publicized.

I don't condone any sort of sexual harassment (just keep it in your pants and don't say stupid shit at work, it's pretty easy to do if you're not a piece of shit), but I don't like this intense media scrutiny being put on Tambor and Franken when it's painfully obvious that Weinstein and Spacey weren't outliers. Hell, considering Weinstein went to the extreme of hiring a team of private investigators to try and discredit 100(!!!) different people earlier this year because he got spooked by the NYT sniffing around, I don't doubt that perhaps this is a concerted effort by Hollywood producers fearing for their own professional lives by sowing the seeds for as many of these smaller issues of general jerky/asshole behavior to be covered by as many outlets as possible to try and throw off the journalistic trails toward their own much more egregious behavior over the past 30 or so years.

This thread is a collection of good movies to watch any day of the year! I will post one film every 24 hours or so.

Movie of the Day:
>Hausu (1977)
A Japanese horror comedy film directed and produced by Nobuhiko Obayashi. It stars mostly amateur actors. The film follows a schoolgirl traveling with her six classmates to her ailing aunt's country home, where they come face to face with supernatural events as the girls are, one by one, devoured by the home.

They way it's shot is interesting (as I guess all Gus Van Sant films are), but the acting is noticeably terrible (I think amateurs and non-actors were specifically casted for "realism"), and the message Van Sant gives through the film is pretentious and masturbatory. After watching it you'll just wonder "Why did I waste my time watching this?" because absolutely nothing is accomplished in its 70 or so minute runtime.

That was a weird episode but I thought that it ended up being executed well especially the twist that Alara had Isaac create a simulation to overcome her fears and got her memory wiped was really interesting because until the reveal of the simulation, I thought it was because of the plasma storm but that ended up being a red herring. Pretty good episode.

Well, Rogue One completely shit the bed on their chance to utilize Donnie Yen as a supporting character, and simply gave him an annoying mantra to repeat until he got to hit some stormtroopers with a stick. That's all he did in the entire film. For reference to his potential as an actor, see 14 Blades, Ip Man, Hero, etc. Meanwhile, Jack Ma, the fuckin' guy with the alien head who owns Alibaba and is the richest dude in China, recruits several of the biggest names in Chinese martial arts including Donnie to dick around and make a 20 minute film just so he could pay the fee to be a super badass for a short fantasy and it's a thousand times better than blind stick man lol. Youtube seems to be taking down some of the vids so no promises this link will remain functional.

I thought the season finale was good and much more conclusive than previous seasons but something felt off about it like you expected everything to happen like Ally turning on Kai, then Kai trying to kill her only to be stopped by Beverly, and by the end Ally becoming a leader just like Kai. Overall I liked Cult and especially because they didn't rely on supernatural and paranormal horror so it was more like Freak Show I guess. I wonder what the next two seasons will be about.

And Freak Show still had one or two background supernatural elements, so if the ending was meant to imply a Coven crossover, I'm glad we didn't see it just so the season can be called the first supernatural-free one. They managed to stay grounded in reality yet get way crazier than the recent paramormal seasons. I recently read Helter Skelter, a book about Charles Manson, and it's crazy how truth is stranger than fiction with that case. Half the things out of Mansons mouth, if he wasn't a real life human, I would accuse his writers of being hacks because no real person could be so crazy and zany. Kai rules!

You're right, there were some supernatural elements in Freak Show though I forgot which ones they were. But I think that the ending was an interesting tease if the Coven theory is true. I'm not as into supernatural and paranormal horror (although my friend loves it), which I think is why I liked Cult a lot more than previous seasons because of how grounded in reality it was. The Tate murders were also depicted pretty accurately on the show, which made the scene even harder to watch since that's what actually happened.

There was the dude with a second face on the back of his skull, and while that part was based on a real medical case, it went supernatural when his ghost showed up in a couple episodes including the finale.

Well almost:

>In 1992, Mattel planned a line of toys for girls with Wonder Woman leading a new cast of four female characters. Two had been previously established: Dolphin in 1968 and Ice in 1988. The other two were new characters invented for the series. Solara had sun-based fire powers while Starlily had earth-based plant powers. "Wonder Woman and the Star Riders" had the subtitle "Sparkling super heroines!" They were to be pitted against the villainess Purrsia (who has animal control abilities) and her mount, Panthera.

>An announcement for an accompanying animated series was made during the 1993 Toy Fair, however a pilot was never produced beyond character designs and storyboards. A few test samples for the toy line were developed, as well as a short comic book story which would have been packaged with the figures. A mini comic was distributed as a breakfast cereal premium. Artwork has since been published in Les Daniels' 2000 book, Wonder Woman: The Complete History. The cancelled toy designs were recycled as part of the Tenko and the Guardians of the Magic toy line. All the Star Riders ride winged horses, and Wonder Woman herself rides a winged unicorn named Nightshine

>A lot more entertaining than the same garbage that Marvel puts out every year.

Nah, I sort of disagree. I'm not the biggest fan of Marvel movies anymore, but I feel like their movies are a lot less messy than a DC movie. Like, if I sat down and watch a Marvel movie I haven't seen yet, I know exactly what I'm getting myself into. With DC movies, they're just smoke and mirrors. They've all received these wonderful marketing campaigns, and they usually end up being "okay" movies.

I'm ready to throw in the towel and stick to the DC animated universe. Even if there is a dud in the DCAU filmography, it still has a lot more going for it than anything from the DCEU.

Just started. had to pause 5 mins in. I can't believe how poorly done that opening was, so cheesy, so cliche, it felt like a Cable tv show from 10 years ago. The editing....my god....such poor continuity and attention to detail. Two guys are right outside the stall when he has a man pleading for his life and screaming, they don't acknowledge any of that but when he makes a gurgling noise from being strangled they go "hurr get a room" , shell randomly ejecting from a bolt action, bolt automatically closes but his hand doesn't move, 0 recoil on scope-cam shot, gets up and leaves, ejected a shell casing and left a crime scene for literally no reason, cheesy rock guitar cues right after he kills a guy.. theres more too but i'm rambling.. and this is 5 fucking minutes in lol

Gonna keep going because I like bernthal a bit and I love the punisher. Is it so hard to make action scenes semi-realistic. Don't say "oh it's a comic book movie" because that doesn't mean they couldn't put a bit of effort in to making things feel gritty and brutal and well executed.

My favorite was when Frank hangs on a roof and the backdrop of the city and ocean was a green screen backdrop, but instead of depicting motion it was a frozen image showing a big wave just frozen mid-splash (since they were loo lazy to film a background they just slapped a pic up, only who the fuck takes a picture depicting motion for a supposed backdrop?)

That's my Chinese porn star name....

I think you are right, now that I think about it. Very strange how it works. You'd have to know when the gibberish was supposed to be phonetic I guess. Probably comes as second nature over there.

Koreans got the language thing on lock down though. Every character contains sub-characters that tell you how to pronounce it. So, they get to sort of have it both ways. Literally a system their emperor had invented in 1444 to get rid of the linguistic trickery that existed with Koreans using Chinese to write. As you can imagine Chinese is the badass on the language block in that part of the world. Like their Latin. Fascinating that their printed language is pretty damn fucking new, and wholly made for practicality, as opposed to the amorpheous blobs of sounds and symbols that other languages have evolved. I mean, fucking silent "e"s in English and shit like that. They don't get that burden. Pretty fucking clean language. Very smart.

WHat was with the Dark Knight Rises ending? Is Russel really alive or was that job at a department store just a Gamby hallucination?

They simply moved on with their own lives because there is no point for them to reconnect.

This show needs more love. Finished it off last night. The Spring Break episode in particular had me in stitches. Danny McBride can do no wrong. Goggings is amazing too. I dunno if that's his first comedy role but he absolutely smashed it.

Eh, no desire to finish this. Something about Jody Hill's stuff is off.

Sort of like Harmony Korine where you can tell he's not really capable of connecting with other humans and has this fucked up outlook on life that manifests through his films.

Danny McBride is only tolerable in small doses as well.

3 Weeks until September 13th.

Will South Park continue to be as awesome as it has been? Is serialization dead? Will Mr. Garrison fuck them all to death? Find out soon. But build Hype first.

Sports episodes are usually great. Stanley's Cup, The Losing Edge, Asspen, W.T.F., and Up The Down Steroid are all top-tier.
