Taima.tv is a really cool thing. We've had it for years now and while the only channels to really thrive are the various /wooo/ incarnations, /b/tube, and /mxc/, a lot of channels are underutilized. Our own /mtv/tube has seen some action over the years with GOT streams and a handful of movies here and there, but for the most part it's a ghost town. I've got a weird job that has me working non-stop or not at all for days at a time so I'm going to do my best to rectify that.

I've added tons of movies, sketch comedy, documentaries, cartoons, trailers, shorts, etc. and will continue to add more. Streaming isn't something I know much about, but I'm willing to learn so we can do (your drug of choice) and watch stuff. Add whatever you want and I'll bump when I'm around.

Or just ignore me cause I'm always fucked up on something.

Most people with streaming capabilities devote their time to /wooo/. Aside from that, this board doesn't get enough traffic to make scheduled viewing a thing.

Not trying to be a Debby Downer, but the few times we've had an audience in /mtv/ is Game of Thrones premieres like 2-4 years ago. If there's any interest, I'd love to set up a rotating stream of movies and one-offs (comedy skits, shorts, random episodes, etc.). It'd help if there was an easier way to share new releases from streaming services, but at a cursory glance, taima.tv is kinda limited.

The Blair Witch isn't associated with the jersey Devil at all.

The backstory for the film is a legend fabricated by Sánchez and Myrick which is detailed in the Curse of the Blair Witch, a mockumentary broadcast on the SciFi Channel in 1999 prior to the release of The Blair Witch Project.[33] Sánchez and Myrick also maintain a website which adds further details to the legend.[34]

The legend describes the killings and disappearances of some of the residents of Blair, Maryland (a fictitious town on the site of Burkittsville, Maryland) from the 18th to 20th centuries. Residents blamed these occurrences on the ghost of Elly Kedward, a Blair resident accused of practicing witchcraft in 1785 and sentenced to death by exposure. The Curse of the Blair Witch presents the legend as real, complete with manufactured newspaper articles, newsreels, television news reports, and staged interviews.[33]

Not sure if there's a better descriptor for this type of movie, but it's definitely a "type". The kind of movies which aren't quite played straight and have heavy elements of irreverence but they are still written with some dramatic gravitas, usually have some kind of crime element and feature loads of character actors playing weird quirky individuals.

So basically any of the movies made by the Coen brothers, or John Michael/Martin McDonagh would fall into this category, but there surely must be more comfy movies like these right? Please recommend me anything you think might qualify

You know, they did an excellent job surprising me.

It's Castlevania, I didn't expect any surprises. You know they're going inside the castle, you know they're going to fight vampires, you know they're going to kill Dracula.

And I was still surprised. Especially Dracula getting a sudden lucid period when he stepped in Alucard's room.

I do wonder what's going on in the Middle East. The brigands that attack Isaac wear a mix of European and Middle-Eastern clothes, which makes it look like whatever Crusade took place during Isaac's youth failed, and he got attacked by deserters and/or bandits. The fact that those guys can just go around and do as they please implies that even if the Crusade failed, it's still chaos out there... and the last thing you want in a fucking warzone or lawless area - is motherfucking necromancers.

Holy fuck, if even half these shows are done well, we are about to become spoiled as shit. Just look at this list of A-list properties
>Lord of the Rings, Good Omens, Wheel of Time, The Watch (Game Of Thrones spin-off), Star Wars, Y: The Last Man, Lovecraft Country, Watchmen, Locke & Key, Witcher, Kingkiller Chronicle, Halo, Vampire Chronicles, Hyperion, The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe, His Dark Materials, Welcome To the Night Vale
How will I find the time to watch all this stuff?
Anyway, what are you most hyped for? Feel free to post anything I missed.

After seeing ads for Fox's new show The Passage for weeks I finally realized it's based off a book trilogy that I've read. While the trailers make it seem like some generic "special child w/ powers may be humanities only" nonsense, the source material was pretty awesome. It's like a mix of The Strain and World War Z's (novel) style of storytelling through interviews and journal entries with a dash of Crossed + 100.

Ridley Scott is an executive producer so that lends some credence to a possibly good show (then again he did make Prometheus and Alien: Covenant). If anything, I'll wait for news of it getting renewed for a second season before I start watching it.

It is a time of relative peace among the communities as they work together, looking to the past to forge the future, but the world they knew is rapidly changing as man-made structures continue to degrade, and nature takes over, changing the landscape and creating new challenges for our survivors. As time passes, the communities confront unexpected obstacles, danger, and of course, walkers, but nothing quite prepares them for the formidable force they are about to encounter, which threatens the very idea of civilization that our survivors have worked so hard to build.

The season premieres tonight at 9pm EDT on AMC. It's also Rick and Maggie's final seasons on the show.
