anybody chexk it out yet?

I thought at first it was cheesy, then I liked it after its first couple scenes and was willing to watch. Midway I felt it was kind of confusing in terms of random scene transitions in the same way over and over, mostly when people open doors but at the end the entire thing it was full donny darko to me. Cool stuff.

Mainly, if anything I liked the dialogue/writing/script etc. and there is a LOT of suspense that many many times ends like a ruined orgasm. its different, for sure.

any other halloween spooky shit you guys are into right now

My thoughts. It's pretty good. Much better than I was expecting considering it's a Netflix show and it's a haunting show. I've only gotten halfway through but the episodes can differ in quality pretty drastically depending on who is the focus of the episode. For example the one about the junkie was amazing but the very next episode which was about the younger girl that "committed suicide" came off as really corny at times though the writing was great

The part where young junkie guy was under the bed hiding from the floating dude was pretty fuckin spooky. That's probably been my favorite moment so far.

Sorry for triple post but after episode 6 I'm really starting to notice good cinematography. Beautiful long shots with well executed acting and really dope transitions. Typically I don't notice the cinematography unless it's really good or really bad so I"m guessing it's just been good all this time but the whole show is style kinda started to transition in episode 6 and now i'm noticing some really cool and skillful stuff.

Here's a short bts of episode 6.

I really enjoyed this show, especially episode 6. I thought the way they cut between past and present was well executed and the pacing of the mystery unraveling was very satisfying.

I'm kind of disappointed in myself for not seeing Nell being the bent neck lady since it seemed somewhat obvious after the reveal. She was my least favorite character tbh, it just seemed like she didn't have much development other than she's kinda crazy and the house wants her more than the rest of the family but it never really goes into detail as to why she's targeted more than the others.

Theo is fucking rad tho.

Nell is the youngest, so the most susceptible as well as being a female of the line so she has sensitivities like Theo and Mum

That makes sense. I did like her character for the twin mechanic. Like when Luke's feeling her death and it comes off as withdrawals That was cool.

I really dont see where they could take the series tho if they choose to do another season cuz everything was wrapped pretty nicely.

They could try a prequel series but then again we know most of the stuff that happened back then.

all of them were senstive, not just the women
Obviously their father is who they didnt get it from but the sons had abilities too, not just the women of the family. Also, supernatural forces dont usually target the youngest for those reasons. Maybe to a Human the youngest are most vulnerable but to spirits we all are. I’ll consider that theory but I feel its WAY too simple a reason for her to be targeted like that.

Well then ep 9 spoilers then.

That female bop bop ghost was using the future fates of the twins to manipulate Mum into killing them. The ghost chose the twins because they were still the cute defenseless run into mums arms kind of kids. Whereas the elder three were already independent and had distanced themselves, the younger two still needed their mummy. This is all stated in the show. Mum literally says I can still save those two. Nell was isolated and alone so she was the easiest first target. The boy twin was in a facility so he could only be coaxed back to the house after nell died. So that ghost new she could use the mums mothering instincts to have more inducted.

Fair enough.

interesting revelation; Ghosts(if you choose to believe this or not is up to you) have been known in many cases of actual paranormal experiences to imitate the mothers of those in certain haunted houses. Not always, but, IF true, it is another reason I said the show’s dialogue and script has won me over the most.

Haunted rooms for example, an elder cousin and his younger cousin both recalled their mother’s calling them to a basement room both many years apart. One had it happen as a child, innocent as you pointed out, and then grew up only to be babysitting a nephew of theirs who at the same old house had recalled their mother as well calling them to that room. Apparently it was all creepy etc. but this isnt my own personal story so who really knows. Still very cool how the writers maintain a sort of “art imitates life” to the supernatural side of it. More and more seem to be doing this with occult themes.

The writing for the show was really well done. Though the ending was a lot neater than I had hoped for, it was a really efficient way to wrap the series up in a neat bow. I wish it had been a little messier and was kinda expecting they would all die, lol. Like, the house is really powerful until the very end when it really needs its powers to finish the job, and love prevails. That kinda bugs me.
