Anyone else watch this schlock? I've been watching since the beginning and have really enjoyed it. No, its not some highbrown show with a big budget but its pretty fucking fun and its a pretty damn good zombie show in its own right compared to what is out there. If you like horror comedies, zombies, and campy shit. Its not really noteworthy which I feel is why its probably not talked about but not everything has to be crazy good sometimes good is good enough for me.

Their characters are all decent with quite a few standout characters and they've kept most of their cast for the whole run and they've actually grown a lot character wise. The acting isn't fantastic but I've grown to love certain characters. Murphey cracks me up changing colors every season.

The comedy doesn't always hit and its pretty campy but that is kind of its charm. Seeing a ton of different types of zombies, sometimes in one off episodes, is cool too instead of one single type for a whole show and while the scenarios are outrageous they are fun to watch play out. Lots of one off episodes too with little call backs in later seasons which is pretty rare these days. Its a low budget zombie show that knows it is and takes pride in it. Great show to just get highdat z weed doe and zone out to.

I love how they have progressed throughout the seasons and think they have done a pretty good job keeping it fresh the whole time and mixing it up a lot even if things do get ludicrous sometimes but I like how every season is radically different. Some seasons are better than others of course but all have at least a few gems.

I think its worth at least trying out for a couple of seasons if you have nothing else to watch.

I watched maybe the first two seasons with my roommate fucked up as shit
Only episode I remember is the one where the chick and her boyfriend are sleep deprived and she keeps having nightmares about zombies attacking them, then waking up and not knowing what is real or not. Watching that shit on a head full of MXE and nitrous was a fucking wild ride

I've considered checking it out for a while because I've heard from multiple reputable sources (internet comments) that it's more consistent and better quality than TWD and that it doesn't string you along so much. The fact that it doesn't take itself seriously is definitely a good quality for a Syfy show to have, so that's something as well.

The first season and part of the second but mostly the first part of the first season are much similar to a traditional zombie show. Shit starts getting wilder and wilder as time passes.

You should definitely check it out if it sounds like something you would like. Its so completely different from TWD that the only comparison is they both have zombies. It definitely doesn't take itself seriously at all either. I don't want to spoiler a bunch of stuff but its a wild fucking ride especially after like S1 or S2.

Giving this a go. That zombie baby was a trip. If DJ Qualls dies at any point I'm not going to keep watching past that.

Nice, please report back. Its a pretty good show for what it is and gets better with time for sure. They did a good job of keeping every season fresh and as you move forward it drifts away from the standard zombie apocalypse shtick and into many crazy arcs. Also major spoiler he is alive and well

I love how they have all the different types of Z's in the show. Keeps it fun and interesting and Doc is a trip.

Great show to sit down with a nice bowl of Z-weed and chill out to.

I gave it a shot on your recommendation and I'm quite enjoying it. I forget the dude's name, the guy who plays Citizen Z, but I really like him in pretty much everything he's ever done. At about episode 5 or 6, I find the show really starts to get funny. It really does feel like the antidote to TWD.

That's DJ Qualls. He usually plays the awkward virgin type which is kind of funny as he got his start as a model. He doesn't seem to have aged in the past 20 years either.

It's campy enough that the goofs and plotholes don't ruin it because it's not trying to be something it's not. I'm enjoying it still.

Just in case anyone was still taking this show seriously, here's a very clear shot of Wally.

The Walking Dead had Bub from Day Of The Dead in an episode where they were in a tunnel. I don't think taking anything zombie related too seriously is a good idea.

I don't know if I saw that but you're right.

The streaming site I use for some reason buffers so poorly for the second season that I'm really struggling to watch past E2, it freezes more and for longer than it plays and doesn't let you pause-buffer.

Thanks OP. This show has a lot more to it than I would have ever expected. It's campy, funny, and fun. And still somehow manages to do some pretty interesting and creative stuff and even manages to get serious and dramatic. Just finished the first season and I'm really impressed.

No problem, man. It really is a pretty good show. It only gets better from season 1 too. It does drop down a bit later quality wise but then picks back up again.
