I have been having a hard time finding good movies to watch while tripping - I found the last time I took LSD the trip was strongly influenced by what I had on the TV. When I turn to google everything that comes up is bad vibes - The Wall, The Shining, etc. I'm not looking for something a little less intense...

Here are some I have enjoyed so far: The Big Lebowski, Jackie Brown, The Breakfast Club was especially good with nitrous, My Dinner With Andre (I thought it would be a tad on the boring side but was I was really into it), and Fear & Loathing. Some of these movies really draw you in.

What I didn't enjoy: Enter the Void (too much incest/that jump scare with the truck but cool imagery), Apocalypse Now and most Vietnam movies (good on DXM, bad on LSD), and that episode of TNG where Picard gets tortured by the Cardasians.

I usually take around 7-8 hits so I guess I am more prone to freaking out. Any Suggestions? I am thinking about something like Being John Malkovich.

Anything Ron Fricke has been involved with (Koyaanisquatsi, bakara, samsara) for starters.
There's tons of neat animated stuff to watch on lsd, fantasia being the obvious one but Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea, or tons of other stuff really. Not a movie but since you mentioned a tv show, I totally dug the animated mini series Over the garden wall on lsd. Completely perfect tripping material imo, always edging on dark horror only to have a cheerful vibe come clear shit away before anything gets unpleasant.

Also obligatory Off the air rec, but i,d hope you've already seen Adult Swim's paragon of LSD watching, seeing as this is 420chan after all

Watch Big Trouble In Little China, then watch Escape From New York, then watch The Thing. Kurt Russell and John Carpenter are a magical combination.

This. Animated films are always SLAYER even if you don't watch them regularly. Anything by Studio Ghibli, Akira (1988) or maybe even GitS if you're into that.

When I took mushrooms for the first time, I watched Spirited Away for the first time and was blown away.

Also watched Animatrix and what was some dreadful shit.

I tried to get into some anime shows recently, I watched the ghibli stuff and akira when i was a bit younger and it was pretty neat. Anime shows however just have been a big old let down, they often have some pretty interesting concept and cool first episode and then quickly become boring teenage /child level entertainment.

Still waiting for someone to reccomend me an anime show that is actually good past the first few episodes.

99% are pure garbage. Don't take advice from anyone who doesn't recognize this. Even if they disagree and say it's 90:10. Anyone who thinks that likely eats garbage off the ground and can't give good advice

One of the 1% is The Animatrix. Highly recommend it. Especially for while tripping.

the only anime shows I've sat through in almost a decade at this point are directed by Masaki Yuasa, I like animation as a medium and its potential for doing things you can't do in film and he takes full advantage of that, while actually telling interesting stories.

Check out Ping Pong and maybe Tatami Galaxy though that one's really wordy and dense. I havn't seen Devilman Crybaby yet so I can't really recommend it but I'm really looking forward to it.

If you end up watching more of this he directed episode 9, the one where they set a weed field on fire, it gets pretty trippy

2001: A Space Odyssey and King Kong (1933). I've watched those films too many times while tripping to the point where those films give me all kinds of time-fuckery hallucinations because I forget what year it is.

I'd check out astro boy from the 80s and 60s, stay away from the 2003 one though. I don't know why more people don't recommend it, how it could be such a smash hit and just forgotten about, it is weird at times but that's part of the magic. It's very chill but not in a boring way and the drama can be superb at times, the few times I've tried acid, it was a instant calmer to watch except when I started to wonder about what people would think of me for watching it.

Well I explicitly named Ron Fricke and then named 2 other movies he was involved with, so what do you think?

I thought that Dead Man was a good movie, but there's some dark parts in there that might not be super comfy while tripping.
