Mos def. Resnick is an absolute marvel of a tiny tiny man. Unedited Footage of a Bear is probably his magnum opus (so far). His other works may not hit the same peak of surrealism but they're definitely adjacent.

Perfect Hair Forever is definitely surrealist, as is Xaver Renegade Angel. Quite alot of Adult Swim's original programming is very surrealistic.

Though I would say that things like Tim and Eric in fact go all the way in the other direction and are hyperrealist, which puts them into that uncanny valley of the bizarre and strange. This is kind of the opposite of surreal but in a sort of horseshoe way where they end up seeming similar.

David Lynch is very good at combining both the surreal and the hyperreal, leading to his very distinct style.

Check out The Shivering Truth, it's stop motion and really dark surrealism but good. The whole show has the feeling of that claymation Mark Twain show from the 90's where the kids come face to face with death.

The Birthday Boys is pretty good as well. It feels like the spiritual successor to Mr. Show and is produced by Bob Odenkirk so in a way it kind of was.

>Weird City (Youtube Premium)
>Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams (Amazon)
>Love, Death & Robots (Netflix)

All come with a scifi theme, Weird City is more modern and Electric Dreams more classic. Love, Death & Robots is a mixed bag, definitely surreal, but the comedy aspect is more in the background.

R Kelly's "The Closet" is great if you watch it expecting a surrealist comedy and you're in the mood for an hour and a half long song. Not a musical made up of multiple musical pieces, just an hour and a half long, spoken word contemporary opera/action adventure where all the parts are voiced by the same guy who also narrates. It's worth watching exactly once.

Big Top is the Temple of Doom to Big Adventure's Raiders, and Playhouse's Last Crusade (Big Holiday is the Crystal Skull), and being the weirdest Pee Wee Herman movie has to qualifiy as surreal. From the talking pig to the circus people to the age-reversing cocktail weenies the whole thing is a trip, even for Pee Wee.

That movie always felt like it was some other script that some writer inserted Pee-Wee into retroactively. Kind of like those stories about how all the Die Hard sequels never began as Die Hard sequels and just came to be because some writer inserted John McClane into the story.

Anyways, yeah Big Top Pee-Wee is a weird movie. Not a bad movie, just weird.
