So many bad reviews for this one, People tune in for 20 minutes and feel they need to trash it without giving it a chance.

First 40 minutes suck but then it gets pretty into its own little groove, pretty trippy and a shame it bombed in the theatres.

Now, i bet this will be seen as a very controversial opinion but it was kinda the inspiration for this thread.
This film starts awful, it feels so rushed and the performances do fail to impress throughout BUT it has its own thing going. After the first 40 minutes you kinda get into the story, it is a classic after all, and it doesnt suck as blatantly as the begginging.

This one is also a Guy Richie movie, and although not as good as King Arthur, it suffers from the same slow start. It really makes you wonder why this director struggles to hook people in.

Anyway, thats my two cents, feel free to reccomend films whose rumors suffer from an audience with a very small attention span.

Read this book ages ago and enjoyed it. I remember my interest getting piqued when I saw the trailers for it, but ultimately forgot it and missed my chance to see it on the big screen.

WHY THE FUCK did none of the advertising think to mention that it was shot in 120fps??? Those flashbacks alone would give anyone PTSD, but in 120fps? That'll shell shock your great grandkids!! I'll def be checking this movie out soon.

Getting back on-topic; I blind-watched The Perfect Host. A few minutes in and I thought it was a slapdash movie thrown together in a few weeks because they got access to a cool location. I wasn't expecting it to be a darkly cute and witty rollercoaster. This movie ended up being Fraiser meets The Collector with a dash of Dexter (if he didn't whine so much).

Pic related. I remember like 90% of the theater walking out in the first 15-20 mins. Not sure if they just didn't understand the irony of the movie, or if they accidentally brought a date with them or something, but either way, whether you love or hate this movie, it's not one you can fairly judge by the first 20 minutes

Dude, you should really watch Billy Lynn, Ang lee does this thing in this movie, where he pauses on Billys face a bit too much, people keep talking but you have this same frame of the guy just watching the story for you.

If half your movie sucks, and the other half is good, then your movie sucks. You don't end up with a good movie, you end up with half of a good movie and half of a bad movie.

A story can be good with slow pacing, but if it isn't engaging or "needs a chance" for 50+% of its run time then that is a writing problem, not an audience attention span problem.
