S3 was better than s2 though. I much prefer 80's styled campy action/horror to 80's style melodramatic horror

2 sucked, poor Steve had to carry the entire show on his back that year. At least in 3, the kid gang was actually together going on adventures instead of split up the whole time.

Gotta agree somewhat in hindsight. S3 was a fucking tonal and narrative mess, but it was heaps of fun.

S2 is technically much more up my alley, more horror, more creature feature, more '70s polithriller, but it was kinda a drag to get through.

I intellectually enjoyed S2 much more but S3, it's just fucking fun.

they ditched majority of those adventures to go fuck each other and kiss

> Heaps of fun
yes, tons of normie fun
I WANT MY SCIFI GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY SUPERNATURAL HORROR! They had tons of shit that people who think they undergo ESP psychic powers and phenomena would attribute to shit like that and then they just up and made S3 casual city to maintain all the newer fans who they drew in by being for the weird kids.

I dunno, S3 felt like a betrayal and disgrace to me honestly. I think of it as a filler season, whereas S1 had great storyteling S2 had lots of closure. S3 just feels like a rest period of basic filler content to lead us into a season where they make up for that by giving absolute return to their ways.

It better yeah.

The magic is slipping. I marathoned S1 in a few days. S2 and S3 were done in a month or what.

That's a pretty good description.
I can clearly remember most of the arcs and events of S1 and S2, whereas S3 is just a blur of Mall Madness, Russians, and a flesh monster.

But that's why s3 was FUN. Season 2 took itself way too seriously, and maybe it's just me, but I don't take this show seriously at all. It's always been trashy camp nostalgia to older, better properties and s3 was a good send off to that kind of stuff

I really don,t remember anything from s2 other than Samwise being in it and how his character turns out. And waffles in the woods

Yeah that’s just you, man.
> Season 2 took itself too seriously
> I dont take this show that serious
I’ll put this in another perspective for you, as to why others may take it so seriously.
Most of the people in my life who were not talking nonsense about undergoing sorts of ESP phenomena such as lights flickering on command, who are bound to feel somewhat crazy assuming such is their own doing, would latch onto this show for their own sanity’s sake, to a degree. I personally love Ouija boards and they had something like that going on in s1 with Joyce/Will communicating from the other side/Upside down.

Also, music is a large part of understanding the invisible frequencies influencing us all in that bigger picture large-scale of reality, so the fact Will used music to communicate was quite intense for those of us who fuck with that kind of shit in our sparetime. Many people take this show serious as fuck. and S2 was serious enough to help those people fee justified in themselves.

S3 however, as I pointed out, really just seems like fun normalcy and typical teenage shenanigans and happy times. Sure, they let the weird kid dressed like a Wizard have a fit in the woods crying in the rain because all his friends abandoned the fairytale pursuits for adulthood, but still, most of S3 really just came off as appealing to the newer crowds they clearly attracted with all the hype preluding it. Now that they have done that, and surely wish to maintain their ENTIRE fanbase... I imagine S4 is going to completely ditch all forms of normality for something special.

2 is the worst season. 1 is the best season. 3 is the most kino season.

This is not up for debate, it is fact.

they were going to do that but everybody got so hype over season 2 they decided the original cast was money.

Hence my point;
>they attracted too many normies
> had to make a season which can appeal to such crowds

Guess someone's already made a thread way ahead of next season. As long as they keep going in the direction they've headed this past season, I'm looking forward to it though at some point with the actors aging faster than their portrayed ages on the show, it wouldn't hurt to do a time jump of some kind.

Or just a new cast entirely. I think this sort of thing lends itself more to the idea that every season is a new group that goes on an adventure we are privvy to. Could be good having time jumps and such that reference events from the other seasons but not directly connected.

No chance of a new cast, that already passed after season 1. They're going one or two more seasons.
