I just finished watching:
Star Trek Discovery - 3 of 5 stars
Star Trek Picard - 2.5 of 5 stars
Rick and Morty (all seasons) - 4/4.5/4.5/4.5 of 5 stars
Twin Peaks (season 3) - 3.5 of 5 stars
Stranger Things (season 3) - 3.5 of 5 stars
Game of Thrones (seasons 6, 7 and 8) - 3/3/2.5 of 5 stars

I am currently watching: The Expanse (season 1) - so far, 2.5 of 5 stars

The Other Two really went under a lot of radars but I just got done re watching it and it's was better than I remember. It only had one season so far and I don't know if it got renewed but it's worth a watch.

Better Call Saul is good, better than Breaking Bad IMO.

I Think You Should Leave is the last good sketch comedy show since they cancelled Birthday Boys.

I see people saying this a lot, but do they genuinely believe it? I always think people are just trying to overhype Saul because they're bummed that so few people watch it versus BB. Don't get me wrong, BCS is a decent show, but it lacks the non-stop tension of BB. Also, besides Kim, there's no real suspense to any character arcs.

I still haven't finished BB, season 3. I couldn't stand seeing Jesse lacking professionalism and looking like messing it all up. Saulls lighter, easier for me.

I wouldn't say that, a character arc can still have suspense if you know where they end up. My problem with BCS is that everything with Mike/Gus/the Cartel is so static and cheesy. They'd have been better off just telling us the story of Jimmy, Kim and Chuck without worrying so much about linking it up to Breaking Bad.

I like the Nacho story line, I feel like he has a pretty good story arc. I went from thinking he was the biggest sleaze to feeling real sorry for him and empathizing with the character.

I think you hit the nail on the head with it not having the same tension as BB, but that's what makes it better. There are respites from it and little slice of life scenes that feel like the characters are going to be alright, even though it's a prequel and I know it's not going to turn out fine but still end up rooting for them anyway.

OP here, just finished The Expanse season 3. Finished as a 3 of 5 stars but have a hard time imagining how things will get better after the s03 finale. I have a well tested hypothesis that TV shows begin to go to shit after 3 seasons (and if you don't believe me I can give examples).

I can barely even read Korean let alone understand it spoken, but I'll give it a whirl. Maybe I can improve my K skills. Gaam sa haam ni da.

I noticed a definite reduction in the quality of writing/storytelling. Production quality is still top notch, but season 4 is the least good so far.

1- ChrisjenAvasarala swears too much and without any real point. She's always been a pottymouth but it seems forced in season 4.
2- Naomi, Alex and Amos have super weak story arcs in season 4. Jim can't carry the whole damn show!
3- The replacement Arjun Avasarala lacks the serious demeanor of the original (Brian George). The new guy comes off as a fop.
4- Belter accents differ too greatly, even between parents and children. The lack of consistency takes me out of my SOD.
5- Former Sgt. Draper's story arc was good but didn't tie in to anything else going on 8n the show. It seemed like it was a mini spinoff series.
6- I did like the story arc of detective Miller, but it all pretty much came right at the end... which leads me to my last gripe about season 4,
7- Season 4 had too much foreplay and not enough hot, sweaty fuckin'. Almost the whole season was a slow build to the last two episodes, mainly the last one. The pace needed to be about twice as fast to suit me, meaning there should have been two major bombshells in the season instead of just one. It keeps things exciting and helps gloss over some of the other deficiencies like Avasarala's swearing.

Also, I'm completely gay for Amos.
