What did folks think of this new doc?

It's super long (like, six or so episodes at around an hour and a half each). But Curtis is always interesting. I'm having some trouble following the train of thought in the film, but that's normal for Curtis and I'll probably watch it a few more times.

I liked it a lot. It was hard to pay attention with the usual enthusiasm that i do, mostly because i was waiting for things to be about more current events as i was more interested in them. The patience pays of because after all, curtis is often telling us a long ass story which he does so damn well. I recommend it to everyone.

But regardless, there are so many interesting pictures, and snippets of history. I found this quote by Maya Plisetskaya incredible.

I thought it was a bit long winded (six parts more than an hour in length each), but I guess at the end of it what I took away was the relationship between conspiracy theories and retreating into a mythologized past on the one hand, and the present crises we find ourselves in today

Also, I was really hoping for a follow up to this Happendrome piece Curtis published on his blog a few years ago. It's about the same subject both Curtis' new film and Hypernormalization converged on, but a lot was left unmentioned in the new doc. The only thing that comes to mind was Curtis talking about BK Skinner

Fuck thanks for showing me this guys documentaries. Theyre hard to watch sometimes if youre a sesnsitive person. The grim shots of the dead in his hypernormalisation documentary hit me hard.
