It's nice that the corp media is finally willing to be critical of KSA, but the fact that it needed one of "their own" getting got to wake them up is pretty shitty.

It's more that they killed him in a consulate in Turkey. That is pariah-state-shady.
Dunno about American media but in my country they rarely have anything good to say about KSA.

The Vienna Convention on Consular Relations is not to be fucked with. Its a good way to have every other country thats signed it to put your home state on the shit list.

American media kisses Saudi Arabia's ass. The Republicans in particular like kissing their ass for some bizarre reason.

Mainstream American media kisses KSA's ass. There are plenty of other sources that are rightfully critical of a lot of shit that the Saudis do, including genocide in Yemen and oil price manipulation.

That being said, there have been some stories of the Turks having a recording of his torture and death, supposedly provided by Kashoggis Apple Watch.

But there are some weird things about this whole situation. Weren't there some 15 Saudis that took him out? Why do you need so many? And how would Turkey end up with a recording of it, unless they had access to his watch?

Kashoggis gf was sitting outside of the consulate with his phone, and Bluetooth shouldn't be able to connect that far.

I could be totally wrong about everything, though. This is all just me asking questions, purely speculation.

It does seem ridiculously suspicious, though at this point it's Turkey and Saudi Arabia who are pointing fingers and neither state is trustworthy AT ALL and both are only useful to the US in regards to material resources and buffers against other Islamic states. Basically the US will likely not get involved. (But these days who the fuck even knows anymore.)

Also arms sales, which seems to currently be a point of contention. $110b or something along those lines. I'd think that chances are it will go through, but it'd be rather interesting to see that fall apart.

And this lol https://www.commondreams.org/news/2018/10/15/you-couldnt-make-bunch-mops-cleaners-and-trash-bags-delivered-saudi-consulate-ahead

Not sure who Common Dreams is or who funds them, but the idea is rather funny in a dark way.

Thing is Turkey is in NATO. If Erdogan makes a point out of this the US may have to choose between the super strategic ally that Turkey is, or the Saudi, at least when it comes to this scandal. This is probably why other major NATO countries are so pissed at the Saudis right now, NATO territory is supposed to be untouchable.

Thing is, they never even claimed Kashoggi was alive, using that as proof. They just just kept saying "We dont know anything" till even they couldn't deny it anymore. What the fuck was the point of this body double thing? Holy shit the Crown Prince is WAY dumber then anyone thought. House of Saud overthrown in 10 years at most.

slow down the start of a murder investigation, allow them to plausibly deny that he walked out of the consulate and is alive but missing, the fatal flaw in that plan was that the turks found an audio recording right away
