NEW YORK — Law enforcement officials say that wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested in New York on sex-trafficking charges.

Two law enforcement officials said Epstein was taken into federal custody Saturday on charges involving allegations that date to the 2000s.

The officials spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the pending case.

Epstein is expected to appear Monday in Manhattan federal court. A message was sent to his attorney seeking comment.

Epstein’s arrest was first reported by The Daily Beast.

Trump had actually banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago holiday resort, and he enthusiastically volunteered any information he could to get Epstein behind bars:

>In September 2002, Epstein flew Bill Clinton, Kevin Spacey, and Chris Tucker to Africa in his private jet. According to flight records, Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's plane 26 times.[59]

Curious that Trump flew on that same plane, and has a known predilection for young girls, has a modeling agency which is a known vehicle for sex services and sex trafficking which is exactly what Epstein did with his modeling agency, that Epstein refused to talk about Trump attending these things at "orgy island" and also that really bizarre child molester relationship he seems to have with his favorite daughter.

This is interesting.

Alex Acosta was lead prosecutor in Epstein's original case. Despite "thousands" of images of multiple victims found stored in Epstein's safe along with other records, giving them plenty to investigate and prosecute for, Acosta settled for state charges which gave Epstein 13 months in county jail. FBI was made to shut down their further investigation and Alex Acosta then goes on to become Trump administrations labor secretary.

>Acosta, in 2011, would explain that he was unduly pressured by Epstein’s heavy-hitting lawyers — Lefkowitz, Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz, Jack Goldberger, Roy Black, former U.S. Attorney Guy Lewis, Gerald Lefcourt, and Kenneth Starr, the former Whitewater special prosecutor who investigated Bill Clinton’s sexual liaisons with Monica Lewinsky.
Acosta also described what he called a “year-long assault’’ on prosecutors by Epstein’s “army of legal superstars’’ who, he said, investigated individual prosecutors and their families, looking for “personal peccadilloes’’ to disqualify them from Epstein’s case.
I'm reminded of SLC Punk where the father tells the son, "I didn't sell out. I bought in."

>Dershowitz, in an interview, denied that Epstein’s lawyers would ever investigate prosecutors.

Right, because didn't do precisely that during other high profile cases like sayyy, OJ Simpson's trial.

Trump has been close to him for 15 years. Other sources confirm that they were close like Caron Bernstein, a model who confirmed Trump and Epstein went clubbing together:
>I was at clubs like eight nights a week in those days and ran with an entourage. We'd have all these club kids and models, and the night would start at a place called Pure Platinum on 21st Street, which is basically a strip club. There'd be all these girls that were known for their bodies, like Maureen Gallagher. They would get onto the poles with the strippers. It was more lax about doing drugs out in the open in public than the regular nightclubs, so we would start the night out at these strip clubs and it became a frenzy. I would see [sex offender Jeffrey] Epstein, Trump, like all the old geezers, at that place too. It would be the prequel to whatever club we were going to, like the earlier part of the night, 11:00, 11:30.

actually I misspoke, in 2002 when Trump gave that quote he had been close to him for 15 years. It's been much longer now. He was willing to cover for his buddy in 09 and they use the same lawyer, (who surprise surprise has also been accused of raping kids with Epstein)Alan Dershowitz.

>Brad Edwards, an attorney who has represented some of Epstein’s alleged victims, said he sought out Trump in 2009, seeking to interview Epstein’s acquaintances.

>“Trump was “the only person who picked up the phone and said, ‘Let’s just talk. I’ll give you as much time as you want. I’ll tell what you need to know,’ ” Edwards said in a 2018 interview on YouTube. In that interview, Edwards said Trump “was very helpful in the information that he gave and gave no indication whatsoever that he was involved in anything untoward whatsoever.” Edwards said he never took Trump’s deposition.

All that'd happen is we'd get 100 new top wealthiest people, who will probably be even shittier and even less ethical than the 100 they replaced.

Like when the soviet union dissolved and they equally distributed all of the state assets to the people as stock certificates, which let oligarchs take control.

That's how the oligarchs got their power: they sat on street corners in moscow buying shares off of people who wanted 20 bucks for booze money and had no understanding at all about how much their shares were actually worth.

Reminder that for most of that time in "jail" Epstein was allowed work release where he could go to his luxury office and have female visitors in private. This whole thing was so ridiculously blatantly a rich guy paying to have special treatment. He got special terms to take him to a special jail, he got special work release treatment that no one else got, he got the Manhattan DA to argue that he shouldn't be charged as a sex offender in the state of NY, he got the Florida US attorney to only charge his crimes as if there was a single victim rather than the 50 or so the FBI had collected evidence on at the time, then he broke the law and didn't inform the victims that he was making a plea deal. The plea deal also gave Epstein and his accomplices complete immunity from any other charges. It was fucking insane. And now the guy has been promoted to one of the highest posts in the federal government by Epstein's good long-time friend the current US president.

Guess who's going out of her way to protect Trump's pedo-enabling buddy from Congressional oversight!
>Acosta, with his baggage from the past and struggles in the present, is both an appropriate and easy target for House Democrats. Or he would be, if Democrats actually wanted to fully exercise their oversight authority. But that outcome looked distant on Tuesday. Though she’s called on Acosta to resign, Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemed to dismiss the possibility of impeaching him

>"It’s up to the president, it’s his cabinet. We have a great deal of work to do here for the good of the American people and we have to focus on that.”

>Pelosi’s reluctance to investigate Acosta is part of a pattern. She’ll criticize, call on someone to resign, or even permit an investigation, but impeachment is too far. Trump, she said in May, is becoming “self-impeachable,” a nonsensical phrase that absolves her of any responsibility to act. In June, she refused to even censure the president, telling the press that “if the goods are there, you must impeach.” For Pelosi, it seems to be impeachment or nothing, and so far, she’s chosen nothing. Meanwhile, she’s jabbed repeatedly at left-wing policies and progressive members of her own party. The Green New Deal, to Pelosi, isn’t a promising proposal to address a pressing existential crisis; it’s “the green dream or whatever.” When she speaks of the party’s left-wing, four-woman freshman “squad,” Pelosi can sound distinctly sour. “All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” she told New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, after Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib voted against a humanitarian bill that included funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. “But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people, and that’s how many votes they got.”

This guy would honestly not live that bad. There are whole facilities where the majority of people are sex offenders and snitches and they have gangs that target people that aren't. Rapeos are a protected species as shitty as that is. Federal prison is also way different than state prisons because it is a mix of people from all over the country. And he's dead.

I remember a few weeks back they found him beaten up hiding in the corner of his cell in the fetal position, and they reported, "Jeffery Epstein attempted suicide," even though he was clearly assaulted and terrified.

Now it's "Jeffrey Epstein chose to hang himself instead of using his ultimate blackmail in court that would have wrecked the ruling elites," only with less context than I'm giving.

I never thought I'd see the day where I'm sad that a child-abuser is killed, but he could have brought so much light to child-abuse in America and in the American elite.

I'm angry that the MSM supports these elites by asserting that it was suicide without questioning anything, despite hugely obvious incentives for the most powerful people in the country to have him killed.

Today we won the battle against pedophilia and child-abuse, but we lost the war.

I seriously don't understand how poltards are so stupid and brainwashed they don't think the NYC oligarch with direct ties to the pedo, who was directly named in s lawsuit threatening to kill her and the whole family of one of his victims, who promoted Acosta the prosecutor who gave him a slap on the wrist, and who actually has deep NYC ties which is where Epstein was being held, as being uninvolved, whereas the Clinton's who are powerless and Bill himself is going senile somehow had something to do with this. But then again we're talking about right wing terrorists dumb enough to shoot up walmarts and pizza places while protecting their pedophile elite, the same poltards who were screeching in support of Roy Moore and the same moronic right wingers who conveniently forget the pedo elite have always had deeper ties to the Republican party
It's baffling. They accuse others of the very things of which they themselves are guilty and expect no one to ever notice.

It's projection brought about by deep guilt and self loathing. Same with them being rabid homophobic lunatics until they get caught diddling some twink.

The Democrats are guilty of this too, but to a lesser extent. Maybe one or two for every fifty republicans. I'll bet Schumer, Biden and Pelosi have a ton of skeletons in their closets. In any case, it is perfectly clear who the enemies of the American people are. They're just really good at manipulating people using that old "god and patriotism" trope.

You had one guy who had a place set up for anyone with enough money or influence to fuck underaged kids and get away freely. Shit they would stage a WTC on that building they were holding him in if it got to that point. I can't believe you people thought this would go anywhere but a "suicide." I can't believe he thought this would end up anywhere but him being assassinated.

ST. THOMAS, V.I. — Less than 48 hours before Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself, he was preparing for death: He had just signed his will, according to court documents filed on Monday in the Virgin Islands.

Mr. Epstein was found early on Saturday, Aug. 10, after he had ended his life with a bedsheet he had tied to his bunk in a federal jail cell in Manhattan. Left behind were scores of anguished accusers, a universe of unanswered questions and a $500 million fortune, which he ordered placed in a hastily arranged trust.

“The 1953 Trust,” apparently named for Mr. Epstein’s birth year, was established the same day the will was signed — two days before he was found dead in his cramped cell in the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

“In witness whereof, I have duly executed this will, 8 day of August 2019,” Mr. Epstein wrote, followed by a small, looping blue signature.

>At least one camera in the hallway outside the cell where authorities say registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein killed himself earlier this month had footage that is unusable, although other, clearer footage was captured in the area, according to three people briefed on the evidence gathered earlier this month.

>It was not immediately clear why some video footage outside Epstein's cell is too flawed for investigators to use or what is visible in the other, usable footage. The incident is being investigated by the FBI and the Justice Department's inspector general's office, which are attempting to determine what happened and how to assess whether any policies were violated or crimes committed.

There's a hearing to unseal more Epstein files today. An attorney for a "John Doe" named in the records says the files should be kept sealed, citing "life-changing" information contained therein:
>Sealed court records contain the names of hundreds of third parties who were mentioned in a civil case involving sexual abuse allegations against the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, a federal judge said in New York on Wednesday.

>The unnamed people, including a man identified only as “John Doe”, will be allowed to object to the release of the documents following a painstaking review of the materials, the US district judge Loretta Preska said.

>“In some of these documents there are literally a thousand people” mentioned, Preska said, referring to a tranche of filings that includes more than two dozen depositions.

>While it is not clear who is named in the records, an attorney for“John Doe” warned that the documents may contain “life-changing” disclosures against third parties not directly involved in the litigation.

>The attorney, Nicholas Lewin, requested the opportunity to be heard on the matter, citing his unnamed client’s “reputational rights”.

Cool how the American justice system is intentionally allowing these people to walk free when everyone knows they're guilty, and they know that we know:
>Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the woman who says she was recruited as an underage “sex slave” for Jeffrey Epstein and trafficked to other powerful men within his orbit, revealed in her first on-camera interview that she was allegedly trained to find the “youngest-looking” girls for the wealthy financier.

>It all started when she was 16 and working as a locker attendant at Mar-a-Lago, she told Dateline NBC’s Savannah Guthrie in an interview that aired Friday night.

>She said she viewed dealing with Epstein at the time as a “necessary evil” to get out of a life of abuse and into a “normal life.”

>But she soon learned that his “life revolved around abuse,” she said. Eventually, she said Maxwell trained her to recruit new girls for Epstein.

>“Jeffrey was very particular in the kind of girls he wanted. First off, the younger the better.” Epstein said that to her, Giuffre claimed, and “Maxwell said that too. During the training and telling me how to do it, she said ‘You always have to go for the youngest-looking ones.’”

>Giuffre said she reluctantly brought other girls to Epstein.

>“It’ll always haunt me.”

It shows how stallioned we all are in America. Things that should cause massive outrage don't because the talking heads on TV don't tell us to be outraged, or at least if they tell us to be outraged, that's as far as it ever goes. No one does anything without being lead by the nose, there will be no protests for this just like there have been no protests for the thousands of other times before this that should have caused mass outrage and demonstrations. America is truly a dystopia, the corruption is so entrenched that there is no hope at this point, they will drive our society into ashes.

And the people telling us when or (more likely) when not to be outraged are often the same people who allowed these things to happen in the first place.

Think about how much information the FBI, NSA, CIA etc have on everyone? Think about how much power and unaccountable access they have been given by both parties over the decades. They can turn on your devices remotely, record your conversations from the phone in your pocket, record you fapping from your laptop camera, and have detailed records on every man woman and child in the country.

You think they didn't know every single thing that was going on with Epstein? You think they don't know every single one of his accomplices? You think the politicians and corporate bigwigs and Silicon Valley techlords didn't know?

They knew, and they know now, and they will do nothing except make it worse.

>The home was raided last Monday with officers finding a custom-made massage parlour where Epstein and pals are said to have raped victims.

>The caretaker of his Paris property has now sensationally revealed: “I saw Prince Andrew there.”

>Andrew, 59, has repeatedly denied her claims. Virginia is prepared to testify against him in court, saying that he was “an abuser, a participant” in a worldwide sex trafficking ring that included 12-year-old twin girls being “recruited” in Paris.

>The girls, whose identities are being withheld, are said to have been sent to the US for Epstein to have sex with, while numerous other girls were attacked in Paris.

>The new whistleblower has been the caretaker of the Avenue Foch apartment since Epstein bought it in the early 2000s.>A hugely-important witness in the French enquiry is Epstein “sex slave” Virginia Roberts, who claims she was forced to have sex with Andrew when she was 17.
>The key witness, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told The Sun on Sunday: “Prince Andrew stayed at the address a number of times including when Epstein was not there.”

>Reports in France say the Duke is expected to avoid travelling to the country while the probe is ongoing amid aides’ fears he could be hauled in for questioning.

That's not how it works. The more people become involved, the less it can fail. Conspiracies can't survive large groups of conspirators.

It's already been swept under the rug. The judge just upheld the court decision (which the court also found was made illegally) that gave immunity to all of Epstein's co-conspirators. They ruled Epstein's death a suicide and the case is closed. This is as far under the rug as it can be and it will just stay there. Eventually we'll be going "hey you remember that whole Jeffrey Epsetin thing? Isn't it crazy nothing ever came of that?" and then we'll go back to shitposting because nothing matters and we're all doomed.

>rich white asshole
Nice blood libel against White people, but Epstein wasn't of European descent. He was a middle-easterner, a Jew. So are Alan Dershowitz, Ehud Barak, Ghislaine Maxwell and frankly most others responsible for running this pedophile ring that mostly exploited young White girls (and likely targeted Gentile politicians and businessmen for blackmail).

Just a few days ago, Project Veritas leaked a video where an ABC reporter talks about how she had tons of material on the whole Epstein story 3 years ago, but her superiors at ABC didn't allow her to broadcast the story. She also says that Epstein was running a blackmail operation, and (despite what her employer makes her say on the air) is convinced that he did not commit suicide but was murdered to prevent him from implicating other more powerful men:
ABC is owned by Disney Corporation.
The CEO of Disney is Bob Iger, the head of ABC Studios is Dana Walden (born Freedman) and the chief of ABC News is James Goldston. And all three, of course, are Jews:

This whole story is a great example of /pol/ being right once again, while every leftist attempt of twisting the Epstein case to conform with their false worldview is torn asunder by the verifiable facts as they come out. Anyone who actually pays attention to this can clearly see the truthfulness and intellectual superiority of antisemites, which stands in stark contrast to the malevolent lies, ignorance and mental deficiencies of leftists. This is why "no platform for Fascists" is the only viable tactic for leftists to not be subjected to ridicule by everyone else, because when they actually engage in a debate, the retarded falsehoods of the Left cannot withstand the undeniable facts on which the Fascists build their worldview.

For anyone who wants to go really deep into this topic, I can recommend the work of Ryan Dawson, who has been following Epstein and his cronies for more than 10 years:

Funny how you had no problem with shitting on White people (whose daughters, from what we've seen so far, are actually the main group that is being victimized by these people), yet you immediately lose your shit when someone points out that those "Whites" running this are actually Jews, including the fucking Prime Minister of Israel nonetheless.

>capitalism and the wealthy
>must have their wealth expropriated
Even going full commie and handing all of our wealth over to Commissar Sanders for him to administer won't protect us from Israeli blackmail operations, they'd just target high-ranking bureaucrats instead of wealthy businessmen. And young girls are even more vulnerable in such a society due to the state bureaucracy having much more direct control over their lives.
If at least leftists wouldn't constantly join Big Capital in shilling for mass-immigration in order to drive up rent and drive down wages by flooding the labor and housing markets, we might at least see an improvement in the living conditions of those at the bottom, thus producing fewer poor girls who are in vulnerable positions where they're prone to being snatched up by Jewish child traffickers. But alas, there's no end in sight.

>The Jeffrey Epstein story is a case study of the abuses and pathologies inherent to extreme wealth. The only way to stop them is to create a world without billionaires.

>In other words, the monstrous, sprawling crimes Epstein is accused of couldn’t have been possible without the extreme wealth inequality that prevails in our current world. And while this fact won’t blow anybody’s mind, it gains extra urgency when you consider some of the other stuff Epstein was planning to do.

>We now know that Epstein wanted to be a twenty-first-century Genghis Khan and flood the human gene pool with his DNA by artificially impregnating scores of women at his New Mexico ranch. He also wanted his head and penis frozen for some as-yet-undisclosed purpose. This is all horrifying enough. But consider also a more mundane but equally horrifying detail about Epstein’s beliefs that has gotten less attention: that Epstein opposed efforts to provide the poor with health care and relief from starvation, because he believed doing so would lead to overpopulation.

>Compound that with the corrosive effects of extreme wealth on the human brain. Both anecdotal evidence and many, many studies show that having wealth and power increases a person’s sense of entitlement — their feeling that they’re not bound by the rules of wider society — while reducing their ability to empathize, exercise moral judgment, and be generous. As one wealth manager told sociologist Brooke Harrington, author of Capital Without Borders: Wealth Managers and the One Percent, “National borders are nothing to them. They might as well not exist. The laws are nothing to them. They might as well not exist. It’s potentially very, very dangerous.”

>This isn’t just something intrinsic to wealth. It’s the natural outcome of concentrated, unaccountable power wielded by a small collection of people largely removed from the lived experience of the vast majority of people on Earth, just as feudalist monarchies and totalitarian dictatorships produced their own classes of people who engaged in extreme cruelty and selfishness, and wielded power simply to perpetuate it. We know where the concentration of wealth and power ultimately leads; the question is whether we’re willing to do something about it.

>Bill and Hillary Clinton are back in the news for their deep connection to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Someone who was brought in to work on security at Epstein’s New Mexico ranch reports that both the former President and the former First Lady stayed there every year after the Clintons left the White House.

>It was dubbed Epstein’s “baby making ranch” because he admitted to award-winning scientists that he planned to impregnate twenty women at a time there. Why? Because the disgraced multimillionaire reportedly wanted to “seed the human race with his DNA by impregnating women at his vast New Mexico ranch”.

>Epstein apparently had the Clintons stay in guest houses in a cowboy themed village on the property near his airstrip where the infamous “Lolita Express” would land.

>some guy who this site claims used to "work on security" for a ranch in New Mexico that Epstein supposedly owned says Bill and Hillary Clinton totally visited the place every single year even. Scouts honor. Not Trump tho. Cuz we, the people who worked super closely with Epstein but weren't part of his child sex trafficking ring but totally had intimate daily contact with Epstein and his inner circle but only now, months after his death, have decided to come out of the woodwork to blow the whistle and tell the world about all the global politicians and celebrities who were part of his organization, are only able to remember each and every time the Clintons interacted with Epstein. Trump....uh...we forget. Didnt see nothing there.

What do you mean you dont believe me? My credentials couldn't be more legit! I went on Steven Crowder's show and told him about all the times I saw Hillary Clinton feast upon live newborn babies that Bill's child sex slaves had literally just birthed at Epstein's child trafficking ranches. I wasnt involved tho. I just happened to be there cuz reasons. And I didnt say anything to anyone til now cuz reasons. Ugh..d-dude i worked on security at his place! What more proof do you need? Stop asking all these questions that I cant answer and poke a billion holes in my story?!

Imagine having this much of a mental breakdown trying to defend the Clintons of all people.

You know it's entirely possible for more than one right-wing politician at a time to be bad people, right? Pointing out that the Clintons are bad doesn't make the Trumps good, nor vice versa.

This is a huge problem on the left, many cant take any criticism of their party's politicians. It's a problem on the right to a degree as well, but most of us didnt really want Trump and are fully aware that he lived as a Manhattan democrat, and has a history as a family friend of the Clintons. I think most people voted for him as a last resort to keep Hillary out.
From one of the places the Clintons were known as criminals back in the 70s, we did end up with the lesser of two evils, even if that's not saying a whole lot.

>This is a huge problem for center-right neoliberals who have spent the past 3 decades poisoning the well of progressive politics and doing everything in their power to drag both the Democratic party and overton window further to the right.

The people who reflexively defend imperialist corporatist pro-austerity cunts like the Clintons, Pelosis, Bidens, etc. are not "on the left". They are firmly on the side of capital and the status quo and spent the whole last election cycle trying desperately to destroy the actual left.

In civilized countries, the Clintons are considered firmly, unequivocably right-wing. They're one of yours, bootlicker, not one one of ours.

Why do anti-communists (let's put aside the fact that the soft social democratic policies Sanders is proposing are also being proposed by right-wing parties in yurop like the True Finns in Finland) always bring up examples like the arduous march as reasons to oppose socialism when these failure modes can't have their causes pinned on any socialist institution whatsoever? The arduous march in particular was caused by exogenous shocks to the DPRK's economy; the collapse of the Soviet Union, which was initiated by a political movement among the bureaucracy in the USSR and which was opposed by the democratic mass (none of these leaders, notably Yeltsin, ever stood in legitimate elections), eliminated the DPRK's main trade partner and left them economically isolated and unprepared for self-sufficiency. The DPRK's economy was interlinked with the Soviet Union's and their collapse precipitated economic chaos in the surviving AES regimes, including Cuba which didn't suffer as much because of a difference in institutional configurations as well as better conditions for agricultural self-sufficiency. But the DPRK is rocky and mountainous with mostly poor soil (the South is where the majority of productive agricultural land is on the Korean peninsula). The US, under Sanders, would never be in such a position, and no left-wing candidate for president besides maybe the SPUSA candidate is proposing any kind of sweeping changes to the mode of production which would even make such a catastrophic failure mode even a remote possibility.

The ruling class will continue their insanity until the US Ponzi economy collapses, the 99% are sent to the concentration camps, a civil war breaks out, and WWIII starts so they can divide the wealth of the world among themselves. This is the end game. The only question is when.

Appeals court upholds the sweetheart deal of the century that protects Epstein's coconspirators, indicted or unindicted, from ever facing justice for the crimes they committed in Florida:
>Attorneys for two victims of pedophile sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein are vowing to challenge a decision Tuesday by a federal appeals court that denies survivors any rights under the Crime Victims’ Rights Act.

>The case seeks to overturn a non-prosecution agreement entered into by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida with Epstein. The agreement blocked Epstein's prosecution, along with those of his co-conspirators, for federal child sex abuse crimes in Florida.

>"This is impossible to understand," said Epstein victim Courtney Wild, in a statement about the decision published by Cassell. "The government intentionally misled the victims but found a way to get away with it by working with a child molester to get around the law. And the Judges ruled in their favor. How?"

>The circuit court's opinion called the secret non-prosecution agreement of Epstein a "national disgrace," but still held that the CVRA only extends victims' rights after an indictment.

>In February 2019, Cassell shared a ruling by U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra which held that prosecutors had indeed violated the rights of Epstein's victims by deciding to "conceal the existence of the [non-prosecution agreement] and mislead the victims to believe that federal prosecution was still a possibility." Judge Marra directed the litigants to determine what remedy, if any, the victims were now owed.

>The newest decision is a setback for the legal team, but they have already expressed plans to file a petition for a rehearing "en banc," with the full Eleventh Circuit.
