>A US police officer who was fired after shooting dead an unarmed man was temporarily rehired so he could apply for a pension, local media report.

Warning, don't watch my OP webm if you don't want bad vibes. The man behind the gun was fired from the Mesa PD and later acquitted of murder charges. He was then re-hired for a period of 42 days so that he could submit an application for medical retirement based on accidental disability, namely PTSD from the murder in webm related, thereby qualifying him for a lifetime monthly pension if approved.

As a resident of Arizona this case shocked me, as did the footage, and as soon as this scumbag's pic popped up in the news I recognized him. It was in fact the OP image I used when I made the original thread about this incident.

It just goes to show that once again the rules do not apply to those with power, or those they favor.

Truly disgusting and abhorrent. I am very upset by this.

Honestly surprised he was fired at all. After all fatty reached to his right side to pull his pants up. This is really a violation of most protocols though because normally you don't have anyone approach you when they are already laying down and complying.

But no amount of bitching on obscure internet forums is going to get anything done. I snicker to myself everytime someone makes some big scene about police brutality... On the internet! *Gasp*

I used to know a vietnam veteran who was involved in some heavy shit, killed a number of guys (combatants), and when I asked him about it he started crying a little and said he still sees their faces almost every night. This was about 40 years after the fact, coming from a grizzled old badass, who killed in war, not a sobbing victim on their knees. If this murderous cop ever has a thought above animal instinct I hope it is shame regret and guilt, crushing his soul, for the rest of his life.

What was shocking to me was seeing how many people rushed to the defend the guy at the time. "Oh, he was just doing his job" and the like. The refusal of some people to condemn heinous acts committed by agents of power in this society really explains how people tolerated the Gulags, Indian removal, etc. The drive to conformity is really something else.

That turd who shot Trevon Martin, he got a lot of support. Yet he kept screwing up after the free ride. Hannity tapped his pen on the table to say, look, he ws wearing a hoodie, has thc in his system. At the time, hannity site was selling hoodies.

The black kid jumped out of the bushes. Yet, there were no Bushes. The actor,
was involved in kickboxing, got a broken nose, gee, take a hit over prison. Some scratches. That really wasn't a viable defence anyway, some kid, VS. Some big guy who couldn't make it through basic police qualifications. As in, unstable.

A common theme. Cops have the most dangerous job in the world. Have family, yet forget to think about family, until they are sentenced. They may apologise to the family. Occasionally, which is somewhat redeeming is apologies to the people
they took an oath to protect. Police have no duty to protect. It is what it is. But they have no duty to deflect their inability to do their job correctly. I think the is kinda up in the air as to whether the people will be forced to carry his sorry ass.

There was that movie where this cop was about to retire, and he just wanted to live as long. Apparently this guy wasn't thinking about retirement.

>Sure, him getting a medical disability retirement is fucking insane and sick...

I guess it's retirement 'awarded' based on ptsd. However, the PTSD should have been the cause of the incident beforehand. Not after. That I could possibly understand. I believe the defense was not based on PTSD related lack-of-judgement in any way. So I do not see
how this should fly.

>but I love that this guy got PTSD from just FUCKING MURDERING A GUY.

>Cops have the most dangerous job in the world

Ice road truckers and arctic fishermen have the most dangerous job in the world. The most dangerous job in the city probably belongs to sanitation workers. Cops have a dangerous job, but this is more often coming down to the fact that they're driving very often (and often drinking and driving, no joke, cops make jokes about having beer coolers in their patrol cars) and thus exposed to the possibility of a vehicular accident rather than because they're getting shot.

Now, this is going to sound weird. I don't blame the guy. Not entirely. I blame American police culture. This guy has been told from day one he's fighting a war, many wars in fact. Everyone is a threat, shoot first, protect yourself. This is what shakes out of it.

Now that he did it, and its hit him. He took a life. All that Police bullshit melted away and he's realized he took a life of a man crying and begging for mercy. He likely thought he was going to be a hero, and now he realizes he's the one the heroes fight in the comics.

I don't wish PTSD on anyone on this earth.

This to me proves it doesn't matter if all the apples are good if the BARREL is rotton, and good lord is it in America.

I could be wrong, he could be faking it for free money and his cop buds are all in on it, but general, humans can't handle killing other humans without external factors, and hooboy, is modern police training one way to deaden a conscience.

Some departments have had some ahve called killing walls where cops who kill get on the wall. They have gotten medals for bad-kills. There have been departments that have been fully dismantled by the government for corruption.

Thin blue line may = culture of corruption. Different people see the motto 'thin blue line' differently. I take it as being a professional at his her job, VS. crossing the line into corruption.

Baked question: have any of you ever thought about trying to join a police force in order to be a good cop? I know it's a bit farfetch'd for a number of reasons, but it's a nice idea to romanticize- like you're going to step into the force as a patrolman, and then let people off on tickets, treat people kindly, and ultimately get killed in a retaliatory attack by people protesting unending police brutality

From what I know about American society, it easier to be a good soldier than be a good cop. If you report on your fellow cops, internal affairs will just ignore it and notify the other cops of your precinct that you ratted on them.

And before you know it, you've gone too far in a few places, SWAT has your mountain cabin surrounded with high-powered military combat gear, and they begin shooting incendiary shit at the building.

Well that may be a bit far-reaching but I can tell you that any local government jobs like that are all corrupt. I work sort of adjacent to police and fire on a local level and the shit that goes on at a county or city sized level is incredible. The corruption, the nepotism, the mob mentality of shit... It would blow your mind. Most people involved are too stupid to realize it or are actively partnered in it. If you know what is actually going on and don't accept it they will run you off. Killing you is a bit of a stretch though. But they'll make your job so hard you quit.

I live here, and also have, from time to time, gone by the moniker" copfag, because of my direct work in LE. I can confirm what he is saying. But don't take it from me. Just look into the Massachusetts State Police overtime fraud scandal that blew up.

What they won't tell you about that, is that the reason it went on so long is because high ranking troopers were doing it, and that encouraged lower ranking troopers to either ignore it or do it themselves. Not a single trooper even dared to report their fellow troopers for the bad conduct. They should have, but I understand why they didn't.

A corrupt dept, an officer reported a cop who held a gun to a mans head in a police car, handcuffed. Well he is still working, I guess you could call it work. The cop who reported him, kinda got a bad time. Yea older criminal cops teach younger cops how to be corrupt, while the others just go about their jobs, knowing what is happening, yet are far far more braver and worthy of 'the badge.'

But as with any line of work. Corrupt cops do get justice often. As they say, have another job to fall back on. Otherwise, if you keep cool, and be a decent person who happens to be a police officer, keep on being just that.

How long until young Chinese wake up and realize there is no hope ot better future for them in China? Especially Chinese men. How many men even have a chance st finding happiness in China with a wife? No wonder so many millions of Chinese keep moving to Western countries. Pooh bear is already viciously attacking young people in Hong Kong for daring to dream of good fortune and a happy family some day, because they never will find it in China.>>179314

Off-duty cop who went into unarmed black man's apartment and shot him as he watched tv from his couch, then didn't apply first aid despite literally holding a first aid kit, who claimed she thought it was her apartment despite being a different number on a different floor with a different doormat, and different furnishings convicted of murder!

I was sure this was going to go the other way with the fact that the cops didn't even arrest her and the media was reporting shit like having found weed in his apartment and the judge telling the jury they can use Castle Doctrine in their judgement.

Now lets see if she appeals to get it reduced to house arrest like those cops who were gunning down unarmed blacks during Hurricane Katrina.

They need to start getting charged murder for murdering people. The Guyger case had a well deserved outcome. Beyond the more immediate sentiment that they ought to have a higher moral conundrum in the act of potentially killing a person, they ought to also be afraid of the very real, long sentence they will be receiving for escalating to violence so quickly.

I live in AZ as well OP. You and I both probably know as well as each other how fuckin crazy the cops are here. I live in Tempe so the cops here are used to all the ASU bozo crowd doing stupid shit so they take advantage. I had one cop shake my friend and I down for coke once and thought we were goners but he literally just told us to “get lost” and so we made a run for it and he didn’t do shit. These cops are out here drinking and doing coke that isn’t even their’s on the job. Then you have fuckwads like this guy killing people willy nilly and getting away with it. It doesn’t surprise me but my first viewing on that video when it came out really struck a cord with how unhinged they really are when they’re behind a gun. I’ve had plenty of sketchy run ins with AZ cops in my 20+ years living here and I can say that whatever crazy story you hear that sounds larger than life is more than likely just straight up true.

>President Donald Trump on Monday said the Justice Department is preparing to launch a sweeping crackdown on crime that he named "the surge," a term commonly associated with the George W. Bush administration's decision to send tens of thousands of additional troops into Iraq in 2007.

>"In coming weeks, Attorney General Barr will announce a new crackdown on violent crime—which I think is so important—targeting gangs and drug traffickers in high crime cities and dangerous rural areas," Trump said during the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Chicago. "Let's call it the surge."

>The president did not provide any details on the plan but said it is going to be "very dramatic."

>"And you're going to see tremendous results very quickly," Trump added.

The society is fine. The Boulder cops, some are pretty darn realistic and reasonable, and very likeable. Some are definately 'sadistic.' The struggle for the restrint chair was relatively non-existant on the detainees part. The failure of the waist restraint, one was holding one side, the other who had control, could have easilly tighthtened it up at any point. Regardless of the other dupty holding the other end against the officer who had controll. (for no abvious reason except to see if it were to be tight enough?) The one cop used a key to loosen the waist restraint, after it was heard to 'loosen it.' Hence, to portray an uncontrolled detainee. She was obviously sitting. If anything, the main objective would have been to hold her down to sit. If that was actually the issue.

The restraints statement, of this. They were taking off the handcuffs, that is why she was held forward, then the shoulder restraints were easilly tightened after the handcuffs were removed. Not deliberately misused and were correctly tightened
with little to no effort in doing so.

Texas cop Jimmy Fennel strangles he fiance to death and Texas tries to execute an innocent black man instead:
>Over the years, many journalists and true crime devotees have questioned the official police narrative of Stites’ death, but skepticism about Reed’s guilt peaked last month when a man named Arthur Snow signed an affidavit alleging that in 2010, while Fennell was in prison for rape, he confessed to Stites’ murder. According to Snow, Fennell sought protection with the Aryan Brotherhood while he was incarcerated, and confessed to Snow, a Brotherhood member, as a way to gain his trust. “Jimmy said his fiancé had been sleeping around with a black man behind his back… Toward the end of the conversation Jimmy said confidently, ‘I had to kill my n****r- loving fiancé,'” Snow wrote in his affidavit. Snow later realized that Reed was serving time for Stites’ murder after seeing a story about him in the newspaper.

>The defense for Reed filed a motion to uncover new evidence in the case, as the initial investigation against Fennel was seemingly intentionally suppressed. Testimony by the widow of a murdered police officer investigating the case indicated that the murdered officer believed Fennel to be the killer. The murdered officer, Giddings Police Officer Gary Joe Bryant, was deep into his investigation of Fennel when he was murdered. Bryant told his wife that Fennel was guilty of Stites murder. Bryant’s wife was also informed by another Giddings Police Officer, named Nathan Lapham, the he was murdered for looking into Stites death.

>The State’s apparent failure to disclose the Giddings Police Department’s investigation of Fennell, any evidence discovered in this investigation, as well as Lapham’s suspicions that Bryant’s murder was related to the Fennell investigation may constitute a violation of Brady v. Maryland,” stated Reed’s defense team in their motion. Despite the potential new evidence, the state opposed the motion. Reed’s execution did receive a stay, but that stay is ending Jan. 14, when he is set to die at the hands of the state.

>Fennel, on the other hand, is a convicted kidnapper and rapist. In Oct. 2007, Fennel was dispatched with other officers to a disturbance. One of the male subjects involved was arrested, leaving Fennel alone with the man’s fiancé, Connie Lear. Fennel assured her he would take her to him, however, he took her to a public park, held her down against the back of his patrol car, pointed a gun at her head and raped her. When he was done, he threatened her, stating that if she ever told anyone and if he went to prison, he would hunt her down when he got out. Instead of cowering in fear, she called 911, however, Fennel and his fellow cops showed up and tossed Lear into a patrol car. According to Lear, they forced her to look into the dash cam and recant her allegations of rape – which she did. She was then arrested for disorderly intoxication.

>Lear was persistent, and eventually Fennel was arrested and convicted of rape and kidnapping. He was sentenced to ten years in prison and is set to be released in 2018. Since his arrest, more women have come forward to report that he sexually assaulted them, as well. Even though reasonable doubt was written all over Reed’s case, it was yet another apparent example of institutionalized racism that chose him over the guilty, to be punished. Despite all efforts, Reed is set to be executed on January 14.

>MTA Will Spend $249M On New Cops to Save $200M on Fare Evasion
>In a presentation to the MTA Board on Thursday morning, MTA Chief Financial Officer Bob Foran said that Gov. Cuomo’s controversial plan to hire 500 new MTA police officers will cost the agency $249 million over the next four years — partly financed by the $200 million the agency will save over that same period through those and other cops’ anti-fare evasion efforts.

>The $249 million price tag was eye-popping to activists, given Foran himself warned of a $426-million deficit projected for 2023.

>“Say we had $249M and we could do anything we wanted to improve the subway system, what would you want to see prioritized?” State Senator Jessica Ramos tweeted in reaction to the news.

>And MTA Board member Veronica Vanterpool said that she couldn’t support the idea to hire the officers, which will be up for a vote, along with the entire 2020 MTA budget, at December’s board meeting. Vanterpool said she needed a better explanation for why the MTA police force had to grow from 666 uniformed officers to 1,114, especially in light of the current “Churro Crackdown” debacle — a fortnight of viral videos featuring multiple police brutality and churro arrest incidents. There are hundreds of NYPD officers also patrolling the subways.

>Still, the governor wants to nearly double the size of the underground paramilitary police force.

>Asked who came up with the need for 500 police exactly, Foye merely told reporters “that number was developed with the MTA police department and the agency,” and that the MTA also needed the police for the commuter railroads, though Foye would not say where the new officers would be deployed if they were hired.

>New York Police Department officials are upset over the passage of a ballot measure that gives a civilian oversight watchdog more authority to investigate police officers who lie during investigations into police brutality, corruption and misconduct.

>“Today the NYPD was stabbed in the back by the very same people we swore to protect,” Sergeant Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins said, according to the New York Post. “With bail reform taking effect in January of 2020 and the passing of CCRB’s [Civilian Complaint Review Board’s] political power grab, New Yorkers can only expect the NYPD to provide paralyzed policing on city streets.”

>The recently passed proposal expands the CCRB’s membership from 13 to 15, grants the board subpoena powers and allows the CCRB to “investigate the truthfulness of any material statement that is made within the course of the CCRB’s investigation.” The amendment also requires the police commissioner to provide a written explanation when he or she intends to depart from CCRB recommendations by the CCRB.

>And that’s why the NYPD is mad.

>To be clear, the cops can still tell the same lies. The CCRB will just investigate the lies now and make them part of the official record. And the police commissioner can still ignore the CCRB’s disciplinary recommendation, he just has to write a note explaining why he gave a cop a Get Out of Jail Free card.

Can't say for certain yet, but the way they sound so evasive and defensive about it, it sure sounds like they did.
>FBI Special Agent in Charge George Piro, the head of the Miami field office, offered his condolences to the “innocent victims,” but declined to say whether bullets fired by the robbers or the police killed them.

>“It would be inappropriate to discuss that,” Piro said at a Thursday night press conference near the shooting scene in Miramar. “We have just begun to process the crime scene. It’s going to be a very complicated crime scene.”

>The head of Miami-Dade’s police union said 11 officers from the department opened fire, only after the robbers “started firing first” at the final crime scene.

>“It’s unfortunate that the bystanders were killed, but the bad guys put all this in motion,” said Steadman Stahl, the president of the Miami-Dade Police Benevolent Association. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two innocent bystanders.”

In the meantime, Miami Police apparently hit a random black woman innocent bystander yesterday:

Most of the world trains their police in deescalation policy when any risk to public life is present.

A person with a gun is convinced to surrender peacefully, not threatened with violence.

I bet you're the kind of person that calls climate scientists reaching a consensus an echo chamber too.

There are other police forces in the world that are just as bad or even worse. They are all in places Americans point to as bastions of oppression ironically. Most people here wouldn't mind the CPC style police force where it's essentially the domestic military as long as it had a white face on it and was wrapped in a punisher flag with a don't tread on me cross.

Police is worse in Italy, where they have enhanced interrogation (beatings et al) as standard for an interview. Japan, where you may as well be guilty because you were arrested. Spain, China.

Point of fact was more, how can a culture of deescalation be encouraged or insisted upon by the citizens of this country? I'm going to my citizens oversight board with suggestions regularly and you can too.

You know, one of the perks of America is the freedom to do something, however small and unlikely to succeed, but yet it is still worth doing.

To do what? What can I do in the US that I can't do in Italy or Japan? Because it sure as hell isn't having a chance at upward mobility or access to healthcare without feudal corporate insurance. They have police beatings and enhanced interrogations here but it's all extra-judicial with a big look the other way policy at the top and disavowment of any knowledge when the shit comes to the surface.

A NYPD officer Michael Reynolds goes to Nashville for a bachelor party, breaks into Black family's home while blackout drunk, threatens to kill mother and her small children, & calls them “fucking jolly african-americans.”

He only got 2 weeks in jail & he's still employed by the NYPD.

The next day after terrorizing Black family he said: “We are police from New York. You don't need to make a big deal about it. We were just drinking."

Americans either don't know or want to know that the US is collapsing or think that nothing can be done to save the USA. Any plans or ideas to slow or escape the decay are quickly shot down as unworkable.

Instead of demanding that minimum wages be repealed or checkpoints be ended, Americans would rather beg for their chains by asking for more laws.

>Woman who Accused 2 Cops of Rape Dies after Falling from Sheriff's Moving SUV
>An Arizona woman who accused a male cop of raping her and a female deputy of sodomizing her with an unknown object while in custody has died after falling out of a moving sheriff's vehicle Thursday.

>Jorden Marie Simms was said to have slipped out of her handcuffs, belly chain and ankle restraints before opening the rear door to the Ford Explorer which did not have the childproof lock in place. She was pronounced dead from head injuries at a Tucson hospital.

>Three days prior to her death, the Arizona Department of Public Safety examined her for signs of sexual assault using a rape kit after she accused Safford police officer Jeremiah French of raping her while in custody. He has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to the Eastern Arizona Courier.

>"My niece, Jorden Marie is expected to take her last breath tonight. A beautiful mother, daughter, sister and niece gone too soon. Jorden has battled addiction for several years and has paid dearly for her addiction. She was arrested Saturday, December 21st by Graham County Sheriff’s Department. That first day she reported to her jailers that she had been raped by deputy Jeremiah French. She was taken to Sierra Vista for a rape test (which has since returned positive). Upon her return to the detention center she was searched by a female officer that sodimized her with an unknown object. She was refused medical treatment for whatever reason. For the next several days she pleaded with her mom to get her out of there. She was afraid. She knew something bad was going to happen. Her mom was trying but couldn’t make it happen fast enough. On Thursday, December 26th my sister arrived for her scheduled visit with Jorden and was met by 3 deputies informing her that Jorden was not there and they could not disclose her whereabouts. As the day progressed no phone call ever came from Jorden."

>"Around 7pm that evening, my sister received a call that her daughter had been involved in an incident and was being flown to Banner University in Tucson. She arrived at the hospital to find her sweet baby girl broken, mangled and brain dead. The story we have gotten is that she had been transported to Sierra Vista for psychiatric analysis and upon her return to Safford, slipped her hand cuffs and jumped from the moving transport vehicle."

Nothing suspicious about this at all.

Americans say tyranny is wonderful because the US has always been a police state, but what if the USA used to have freedom and lost it?

Even if the US never had freedom, does that mean liberty is bad?

Did the USA have curfews, NSA wiretapping, checkpoints, forfeiture, the end to the right to silence, free speech bans, torture, kill lists, no fly lists, searches without warrants, private prisons, mandatory minimums, 3 strikes laws, DNA databases, CISPA, SOPA, NDAA, IMBRA, FBAR, FATCA, TSA groping, secret FISA courts, redlight cameras, license plate readers, and Jade Helm in 1980?

Did Americans have gun bans, business licenses, Social Security numbers, sales, income, or property taxes in 1890?

Were drugs, alcohol, smoking, gambling, and prostitution illegal in 1880?

And while I don't deny that such bots may exist it has become quite clear that the posters on here will be quick to dismiss anything that is said against the U.S.

Also this whole board as well as this website in general has lost heaps of posters. I remember posting here at least 5 years ago and there'd be at least 3 new articles on the first page, now it's the same articles with little to no discussion.
