Bernie laid out the details for the most comprehensive plan yet to legalise weed and end the drug war. Plans include:
>legalize marijuana within 100 days of taking office
>nominate AG and HHS secretary who will work to end drug war
>vacate and expunge all past marijuana-related convictions, including those still in prison
>protect marijuana industry from being controlled by big corporations
>incentivize nonprofits
>institute market share caps to prevent consolidation and monopolization
>invest profits into communities hit hardest by drug war
>eliminate barriers to public benefits for those who were fucked by legal system

Between the tax increases involved in his 2016 plan and the increasingly rabid gun control ideas, I could give a shit about legalizing smoke.

The tax increases will be more than offset than what you pay for healthcare today.

Bernie is the least anti-gun of any of the candidates.
Considering the guy marched and was arrested with civil rights activists and spent his honeymoon in a country that got invaded by every capitalist country at once, I think he is the only candidate who both understands why the workers must be armed.

There is no way Dems gonna take away your guns. Although a mirror of Trump
by democrat run government that wanted to take guns, still a no-go. No
Demcorats, except the few, would unconditionally back a president to disarm the population. Plain and simple. No Democrats would back a Democratic leadership like Trump in any way to begin with.

Remember the "obama gonna take your duns." Buy as much ammo and guns as possible. Nothing special but some hippe neighbor bought guns when Obama was elected. Still never fired a shot. I offered to teach them to shoot, but naw. I offered them simple as anything to seek gun, hunter safety clesses. No.

I believe in hunter safety classes, as a decent per-requite to the 'defend your home and family lunatics,' classes, some who are all about teaching people to be perpetually afraid. That is how some make their money, little on efficient handling and respect for firearms safely. Just that the bad guy, whomever happens to walk through your door, that you must not take a defensive protective stance, but a pro-active offense stance.

Arming teachers, in every school, yea sure. Whatever.

Sure, we can congratulate Bernie for the fact that he is in favor of Gentile children doing drugs, but let's not forget that he is also a bloodthirsty warmonger.
He wanted military intervention in Yugoslavia. He voted yes on Bombing Kosovo. (see https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/106-1999/h103 )
He voted to finance the Iraq War multiple times. Supports the war in Afghanistan and voted for it.
Supported the coup in Ukraine and voted to give 1 billion dollars towards it.
Supports aiding Al Qaeda in Syria and calls them “moderate rebels”
Voted to invade Libya. As Clinton said to him in a debate, “With all due respect, Senator, you voted for regime change with respect to Libya. You joined the Senate in voting to get rid of Gaddafi, and you asked that there be a Security Council validation of that with a resolution.”
Bernie was a cosponsor of the war propaganda resolution.
He Voted for sanctions on Iran and Libya
Pro Drone Strikes
He supported US intervention in Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Liberia, Zaire (Congo), Albania, Sudan, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia
He Supports Saudi Arabia bombing Yemen and he is in total denial that Saudi Arabia is backing ISIS not fighting them.

His only vote against a war was Iraq, however, many Democrats did that, and as a vote against Bush, not the War. Bernie voted to fund the war and had no problem with it once Obama was in charge of it. He also supported the sanctions that killed hundreds of thousands of children.
He also was against impeaching George Bush and called it impractical.
He gutted the audit the fed bill (the night before it was being voted on)
Totally supports Israel. He told people in a town hall meeting to shut up about it.

Of all the corporate welfare which Bernie likes to droll on and on about, there is none larger than all of the military interventions he supports. He also supported the F35 program which of course was jointly built with the Israelis and cost 1.5 trillion dollars so far to build an aircraft that doesn’t even really work. With a 18 trillion dollar debt 8.3% of it is the F35 project alone. For you millennials who can’t do math, that’s 1.5/18. Of course parts of the F35 are built in Vermont. Bernie like everyone he criticizes fights for his slice of the pork projects and helps waste trillions.

All that pic proves is that Communists are evil liars and deceivers who are never to be trusted. They demand freedom of speech, freedom to carry guns and so on, and as soon as they are in power themselves, they take those freedoms away from anyone else.

Under the Chinese Communist Party, mainland China has some of the most strict anti-gun laws in the world:

Russia's peasants were free to bear arms under the Czar, and remained so until the Soviet government disarmed them so they would not be capable of resisting the Communist mass-murderers:

After Hitler had greatly relaxed the German gun laws (see the Reich Firearms Act, passed in March 1938) so that Germans would be able to resist foreign invasions as well as -- in case it should ever betray its own people and devolve into tyranny -- the government itself, the Communists in East Germany quickly started confiscating guns and implementing draconian gun control laws:

>>180796 Very funny. This is about assault weapon bans. Did you know in Germany, airsoft guns over 75 fps, from what I recall, are not allowed to be fully automatic? In those countries they've basically punished people who want to participate in shooting sports and hunting by making it very expensive to get into, with 9 months+ of red tape, and forget about self-defense.

I'm trying to see what comes after that.

Economy of scale and automation as well as industrial quality are just tied to capitalism at this point. It would take a fundamental shift in the system to change that. And this is just bigger than weed.

Bailing out failing businesses? Gun sales, and prices, go up every time we have a president running with a gun control platform. Do you even know what bailout means? Giving subsidies is much different from leaving regulation alone.
The 2nd amendment was written so that the people could bear arms with the possibility of defending themselves from tyranny. "Assault weapons" is a bullshit phrase made up by leftists who know nothing about guns, regulating them strictly by a combination of semi-auto and aesthetics.
These are the ignorant fools trying to ban them.

The 2nd amendment guarantees the right to bear arms that parody those of the military.

The AR-15 was made to be just different enough from the M-16 that it wasn't a "military" grade weapon to fit into laws that are technically unconstitutional and the gun should technically be illegal on those grounds alone. Following the letter of that law sporting rifles and derringers should be illegal as well and the whole "I use my guns to hunt" argument goes out the window. There are a shit load of contradictions. It's a 300 year old document written by a bunch of slave owning British traitors with wood teeth and syphilis, it's funny so many people are conditioned to treat it as infallible gospel.

First off the popular vote doesn't matter. I don't know how many times we have to have presidents that lose the popular vote before people realize we live in a representative democracy and the electoral college is a thing.

Second, people blindly supporting oligarchical ghouls even when they are slipping into dementia before our very eyes because they wear a color tie we've been conditioned to identify as the cornerstone to who we are as people is a depressing reality that has been happening and will continue to. You can go to literally any other place online and be part of that. I'm voting for Dick Gregory.

How brave of you. Do you realize that impact of Trump's presidency will live on in the judges he's elected during his tenure. He has appointed almost as many judges in his first three years than president obama appointed during his entire two terms. You obviously don't care more about the individual person rather than whether one side's policies will be better for the country, and they will be better simply by virtue of what party they are, that's just reality right now. It will be much harder to have an election between a progressive and an "oligarchical democrat" next election if you keep choosing to have our elections between absolutely disgustingly impeachable wrong and "oh but i think she's tied to wallstreet" wrong. You fail to even understand the nature of progression and time, and you so you vote for a thing that is obviously wrong. Your black-and-white voting is the anti-thesis to everything you pretend to be supporting.

Also, I'm not discussing the electoral college. I am in support of whichever democratic candidate will have the best chance of appealing to those states that do matter during this election. Disagreeing with political strategy is different than disagreeing with someone's views. I think some people have better views, but I recognize nuance and I can change how I vote in relation to how things are. I might decide that I want to support the candidate who has a better chance of actually winning, during this election cycle.

It's all up to the people we elected in 2018 whether or not Trump will get a second term. Again, the popular vote counts for nothing and it's out of our hands at this point. The Democratic primaries were demonstrably rigged last time, were probably rigged in prior elections and will most likely be rigged this year. I have a feeling we may even see a Bloomberg run which is just further advancement of corporate interests and more people hurt. Instead of having detainment camps run by private corporations full of illegal aliens they'll be full of "undocumented immigrants" subject to the same conditions while the people that made the resolution to change the wording are patted on the back for being progressive and republicans act like it's the first step to white slavery.

Different guy. Why don't you fuck off? Alt-right is such a retarded term. I'm more of a libertarian who personally favors traditional ideals.
The number of people buying them went up under Obama because they remembered the Clinton bans and were trying to be prepared for a repeat, or profit off of the price jump. Not a Trump fan, but the bump stock ban was most likely a trade off for cooperation from the Dems. Weird how I didn't say anything about race, but here you are, saying I'm driven by racism. Got some kind of obsession?
The black panthers are such a shitty example. They were not heroes, they were as bad as the people they fought, if not worse than most of them.

This might be an unpopular opinion but weed should probably have an age-limit of 25 or so. We know that smoking while the brain is developing is bad (ditto ethanol) but after that there is just a microscopic chance of triggering a psychotic episode really. It should probably be encouraged for most elderly though.

Fox News watching Boomers are not agreeing with Bernie about keeping corporate control out of legal weed, how could you even begin to think that?

They want to keep weed illegal, and if it has to become legal they would absolutely want big business "job creator" corporations to take it over like they want them to do with everything else.

What is even wrong with your brain that you would make that kind of connection?

What would a Fox News Boomer have to gain by saying that weed should be legal and corporations shouldn't have oligopoly control over it? What would they gain by promoting the ideas of their ideological opposite?

>murderers like Castro

The Cuban Communist Party under the leadership of Fidel is responsible for saving hundreds of thousands of lives in Cuba alone through the provision of free medical care, free education, and free housing to everyone on the island. The Cuban Communist Party today can boast that the only political prisoners on the island are in GITMO, an illegal prison camp run by the United States.

Today, Cuba - despite enormous material poverty made worse by the US blockade of the island - features a life expectancy at birth three years higher than the state of Louisiana's, eight years higher than Mississippi. This is, in large part, due to the fact that medical care is free on the island, while here your life depends on your submission to a boss, or like you say:
>working with companies that provide HC as a benefit if they don't want to budget the amount needed

The thing of it is, you want people to be dependent on their bosses. You want serfdom, literal serfdom, not Hayekian "dependence on anyone but myself as a private property owner is serfdom". Employer-provided health insurance holds people hostage, it's a form of discipline imposed on the working class to keep them in line at work, because people whose health insurance is provided by the capitalist class on condition of indefinite exploitation (as long as the capitalist class is willing to provide those jobs) are in a far more precarious position than people who get healthcare provided through efficient, scientifically-managed public institutions.

>A 10-12% increase for people making under 70k per year is enough for me

That's a flat lie and I'm not at all surprised you would be claiming this. For people who pay premiums even through employer-provided health insurance (it's extremely rare for people's job to pay their premiums for them), Bernie's Medicare for All plan would reduce individual costs. If we factor in cartel busting (i.e. nationalizing pharmaceutical companies or subjecting them to international competition), prices could go down even further. But you don't want that, you want the total domination of corporate power over your everyday life. Suck that boot down, cuccboi.

You would have to be a complete psycho or an ahistorical liar to think that:
>Free Breakfast For School Children was one of the most effective. It began in January 1969 at an Episcopal church in Oakland, and within weeks it went from feeding a handful of kids to hundreds. The program was simple: party members and volunteers went to local grocery stores to solicit donations, consulted with nutritionists on healthful breakfast options for children, and prepared and served the food free of charge.

>School officials immediately reported results in kids who had free breakfast before school. “The school principal came down and told us how different the children were,” Ruth Beckford, a parishioner who helped with the program, said later. “They weren’t falling asleep in class, they weren’t crying with stomach cramps.”
>Soon, the program had been embraced by party outposts nationwide. At its peak, the Black Panther Party fed thousands of children per day in at least 45 programs. (Food wasn’t the only part of the BPP’s social programs; they expanded to cover everything from free medical clinics to community ambulance services and legal clinics.)

>Free food seemed relatively innocuous, but not to FBI head J. Edgar Hoover, who loathed the Black Panther Party and declared war against them in 1969. He called the program “potentially the greatest threat to efforts by authorities to neutralize the BPP and destroy what it stands for,” and gave carte blanche to law enforcement to destroy it.

>The results were swift and devastating. FBI agents went door-to-door in cities like Richmond, Virginia, telling parents that BPP members would teach their children racism. In San Francisco, writes historian Franziska Meister, parents were told the food was infected with venereal disease; sites in Oakland and Baltimore were raided by officers who harassed BPP members in front of terrified children, and participating children were photographed by Chicago police.

>“The night before [the first breakfast program in Chicago] was supposed to open,” a female Panther told historian Nik Heynan, “the Chicago police broke into the church and mashed up all the food and urinated on it.”

GDP isn't shit and you're spouting basic bitch economics,

GDP per head is a better measure of a country. Having a shitload of people living in misery and saying that means you're a great place is bullshit. Having the people in your laws and borders doing well is better.

The real measure of a country is HDI though. Ideally inequality adjusted. Viet Nam is 116th in the world. It sits with such titans as South Africa and Indonesia. Which is to say it's not a hellhole but it's hardly a great place to live. Norway is 1st and basically shits on your country unless you're Isahn or something. Switzerland is 2nd, Ireland is 4th and Sweden is 7th. This measures life expectancy, healthy, income equality, literacy all the stuff that matters. India which has vastly more money than Viet Nam sits at 160th though so it could be worse.

It's not all gloom. When you look at GDP per head, which essentially measures the resources per person compared to HDI, the outcomes you achieve some countries definitely stand out as under or over achievers. The overall best achievers tend to be countries who don't think socialism is a dirty word but also actually let people have money

In Yurop you vote for a party-list based on a party's political platform. With regards to executive branch elections, the issue is that someone like Warren and someone like Biden are in the same party in the first place despite having very different platforms. Why is that? If either one would break into a third party, they would be entitled to none of the money entitled to candidates of parties big enough (only the Dems and Republicans meet this threshold currently. Green and libertarian parties aren't really close), nor would they have access to the infrastructure of the well established Democratic party.

These issues could be addressed, but the leaders of the two parties are not interested in giving up this power.

I think what you're talking about relates better to legislative branch voting and could really make gerrymandering less impactful.

Tell that to the Brits. Literally no two democratic systems in Europe are exactly alike, and beyond really. Nor have they exactly been constant throughout history. There is no real one right way to do it. Currently many developed countries consider the American system more a warning rather than a role model though.

They're less dissimilar than Tony Blair and Corbyn.
Warren's plans are populist policies that have been intentionally gimped to avoid scaring the capitalist class and their media, dissipating the popular energy pushing for those policies without actually giving anything to the working class.

In practice, a Warren presidency wouldn't look much different than a Biden presidency or even an Obama pt III.
Warren will make a show of trying to pass popular policies, then pass means-tested unenforced bullshit that will get rolled the year after her term ends, if she doesn't simply capitulate to the right-wing of the democratic party and pass rebranded republican policies.
Biden will simply capitulate and pass right-wing policies and call it Bipartisanship.
