Two dams seem to have burst and a lot of people have to evacuate because the flooding is going to be severe.

the city downriver of the floodzone is also the home of the DOW chemicals headquarters, so this is looking like its gonna be a lot more than just a flood

also expect a lot more shit like this to keep happening, america built all its infrastructure in the 30s and hasn't bothered maintaining it since the 50s

There isn't anything there that's worth worrying about. Mostly poor people will lose their homes. Infrastructure in Michigan hasn't been improved or repaired since I was a child in the 80s. From time to time these floods will take out a small neighborhood and the Red Cross will have to relocate a bunch of people. This happened at a really unfortunate time and is especially large.

Pretty mixed feelz on this one. I like the lake better than what's there (let them live in river boats, they're bigger and safer than mobile homes and not even more expensive if they're made wholesale) especially DOW chemical, but it's a very bad time to have a place like DOW even threatened with temporary closure, as many of their products wind up going on for uses that are very important right now.
