Corporate executives having a normal one:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2020/06/15/ebay-executives-psychologically-terrorised-middle-aged-couple/
>Six eBay executives and employees have been charged with cyberstalking a middle-aged couple by sending them “disturbing” packages and threats after they published critical reviews of the e-commerce website.

>The employees allegedly sent the couple from Natick, Massachusetts, a box of live cockroaches, a funeral wreath and a bloody pig mask while attempting to make it look like they were from disgruntled eBay sellers who took offence to their newsletter.

>James Baugh, 45, of San Jose, California, eBay’s former senior director of safety and security, and David Harville, 48, of New York City, eBay’s former director of global resiliency, were arrested on Monday and charged with conspiracy to commit cyberstalking and conspiracy to tamper with witnesses. Four employees are also charged with the same crimes.

>The victims, who were not named in the complaint, were targeted in 2019 after the executives became “enraged” about coverage on the couple’s website, according to the complaint.

>The executives lead a “systemic campaign fuelled by the resources of a Fortune 500 company to emotionally and psychologically terrorise this middle-aged couple in Natick, with the goal of deterring them from writing bad things online about eBay," US Attorney Andrew Lelling said during a press conference on the arrests.

>This included sending fly larvae, live spiders and posting pornography to the couple’s neighbours in their name. The employees are accused of setting up several social media accounts, internet and smartphone contracts, to make it appear that disgruntled eBay sellers were the source of the packages and expletive-laden messages. The deliveries were paid for using pre-paid debit cards.

>In August 2019, the eBay employees allegedly published a classified advert on digital forum Craigslist claiming to be from the couple, inviting “swingers” to their address for a party after 10pm every evening.

>Four of the employees allegedly drove to the victims' home at various times, with Mr Harville and Mr Baugh allegedly planning to break into the victims’ garage and install a GPS tracking device on their car.

>Anticipating the possibility of being stopped by the local police, the two executives allegedly carried fake documents that suggested they were investigating the couple for threatening eBay executives. The victims notified the Natick police when they became aware of the tracker.

>Stephanie Popp, 32, eBay’s former senior manager of global intelligence, Stephanie Stockwell, 26, the former manager of eBay’s global intelligence center, Veronica Zea, 26, a former eBay contractor who worked as an intelligence analyst, and Brian Gilbert, 51, a former senior manager of special operations for eBay’s global security team were the four employees arrested.

>All defendants face up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

WHAT. THE. FUCK.

These dudes clearly lost their minds after all their """former""" career positions fell through, and got frustrated into insanity. Did they write "former" to imply they were only recently let go, due to this? Or what?

I think this is insanely wild that any of them had any kind of real power and would go to those lengths to somehow make themselves felt.

A prime example of why you don't give 9-5=chanposters high leading positions in the workplace, no matter how smart they say they are. Also an example of how greedy corps don't even bother to fucking background check people before hiring them, amazing.

What the fuck are you talking about? It's your vaunted system of property rights, asshole! Don't like it? Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and make a competitor! Anyone can do it, hell, Google started in their garage, right?

Fuck you. This is more of a "shame they can't both lose" situation for me, but seeing conservatives pissy at the consistent application of their own principles fucking them over is hilarious.

You're using the word tankie wrong.

Also, laughing at right-wingers getting owned by the capitalists they worship doesn't imply support for capitalism anymore than laughing at pic related supports police brutality.

Do you think we're just now realizing that capitalism will either strangle and kill or pervert potentially utopian technologies to extend its control over the working class?

Fucking Karl Marx wrote about that shit in the 1800s.

'Leopards eating the faces of people who voted for leopards to eat people's faces' is not a useful warning to anyone except the people dumb enough to vote for leopards to eat people's faces.

>At first they came for the trump supporters....
Again, they've been coming at the left for literally a century, pic related had to run from prison because of the sedition act.
We've seen warrants pre-emptively served for "anarchist literature" and protest materials to prevent them from protesting, we've seen self-funded newspapers out-competed by liberal mouth-pieces with infinite capital, we've seen the CIA, military, and PDs work with private companies to produce propaganda.

Like there isn't anything you can point at happening to conservatives that hasn't been happening to the left for decades.

>Red-brown alliance
Fascists have no interest in free speech, only for their propaganda to be disseminated and for counterprogramming drowned out.

Fun fact about hootenannies, they absolutely were of communist origin, with leftist folk singers (like Woody Guthrie) using them (they were basically house shows) to pay their rent.

That's kind of what makes that "how to spot a communist" thing so funny, it's literally talking about folk singers, some of whom are now national heroes (whitewashed to hell and back, even).

This is like complaining that one of the top networks or streaming services won't give you a platform. It's corporate owned media, even if it is "social media" that doesn't change the fact that it's a platform whose main goal is to generate revenue. It's a private company trying to distance itself from controversy in the interest of appealing to as many people as possible to make money off them. These people aren't being punished for their views, 2 subcirclejerks were taken down.

Do you want some kind of state run social media platform everyone is forced to participate in and read your posts or something? I don't like these companies and don't use their products but the right to enforce their own ToS on a website they own that is free to use is one they have last I checked. They aren't blacksmiths or anything so it's still a free country.

Megacorps exist, and accepting that they exist in your space isn't "sucking up to" them. You're being ridiculous. You have no right to use private shit, no matter how much money the owner has.

Now, if you want to talk in an honest way of increasing government regulation on the ownership and distribution of property, I'm all ears, comrade. Until then, you're a player hater, just admit it.

are you fucks all so high that you forgot to talk about the article?!

That shit is INSANE. How would you get a group of middle aged adults to all agree to creepily stalk someone and waste money on cheesy shit like cockroaches or masks? And what's the fucking POINT if the couple doesn't know it's you doing it? That's the sadistic part. Trying to manipulate and terrorize from the shadows. It reminds me of that time I was visiting a magic well in the forests to the north of my village. There lived an old witch, who secretly mumbled curses from behind the ferns. As I approached the well, she leapt from the thicket and shouted, "THY NAME IS CURSED AND CURSED IS THY NAME! NO MATTER THE TIME, YOU WILL FORGET THE MATTER, AND FORGET THE MATTER INDEED!"

So uh anyways, what were we talking about?
