So every year, people and restaurants from all around come and compete for who has the best bbq ribs!! It is sooooo damn yummy and this year I get to do the VIP all you can eat deal tomorrow and I am so fucking excited!! Today I am having a few ribs with other family members that didn't wanna pay for the all you can eat, still a good time tho.

It's a similar type of event to hot august nights, but ribs instead of cars.

Pic related it's a mom Infront of a vendors booth, this vendor had art trinkets and not ribs tho lol

Here to help. Being stuck indoors humping the couch and eating beans has really got me appreciating the finer things in life.

Making a lot of sourdough, got my baking game back to the old standard.

Figured out a few hacks, don't have scales so I'm using relative mass of 1.4 to handle my flour to water ratios. It is bad but it works.

Here to answer all comers on how to improve their bread or cookery

I prefer
>CLAFOUTIS

Serves 4–6

INGREDIENTS
1 cup whole milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup all-purpose flour

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 325°F. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and butter until the sugar is dissolved. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Pour the batter into a cast iron skillet or pie pan.
Now add your favorite fruit or flavoring (see below). Bake until the clafoutis is beautifully puffed and golden, 35–40 minutes. Serve immediately.
Clafoutis Variations:
Concord Grape Clafoutis: Once the batter is in the skillet, scatter 2 cups slightly crushed Concord or other black or red grapes on top.
Cherry Clafoutis: Scatter 2 cups pitted cherries onto the batter once it's poured into pie plates.
Pear Clafoutis with Pear Eau de Vie: Core 1 ripe pear and cut into pieces. Pour the batter into the skillet and top with the pear pieces. Bake. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons eau de vie and serve immediately.

Are airfryers just glorified hot-air-ovens?

Are they really more healthy than oil-fryers and do they really cook faster than any conventional oven?

Thinking about getting one, but I'm, not sure how much of the infos and videos I see are just made by paid influencers.

HOT DOG STYLES

Thread inspired by that dude in the welsh rarebit thread who only eats hot gods; this one's for you.

Favourite hot dog styles (not necessarily those in this image)? Hot dogs you'd like to try? General bitching about inaccuracies in my pic? Just want to talk about hot dogs? This threads for you!

I'm not far from montreal so ''montreal hot dogs'' are what I'm most used to (no one calls them that, just ask for an all dressed hot dog anywhere Quebec and that's what you get. Sometimes with cheese added, or even relish if you're in a truly blasphemous store). Michigan dogs are pretty common here too. They're ok, I prefer a ''montreal'' dog personally.

The sonora dog and colombia dog (assuming this pic is accurate) look intense, I,d definitely liek to try them

Been to NYC a few times and never saw sauerkraut and onion sauce so idk what that's about, hopefully someone can chime in. Seemed to me like mustard/ketchup was the default NY dog (false impression given to tourists or what?)

Get your dog on folks, woof woof

In fairfield ca by the air base there was a hot dog franchise called dawgs and they had the different state styles on the menu on rotation; i think i remember hearing the franchise originated from michigan. My favorite is the west virginia, yellow mustard, meat only chili and coleslaw.

SALA assorted items of similar size arranged or in a pile
SOUP: Liquid, sometimes with chunks
SANDWICH: Stacked or ordered things, please remember that not all sandwiches have two breads.

What's the best thing to do with canned mushrooms to make them taste decent? Obviously they're not gonna be as good or versatile as fresh mushrooms, but surely there must be a way to salvage them, right?

These two ideas appeal most to me. The worst part of canned mushrooms is the texture, not the flavor.

Whatever I did, I'd want to start by throwing them into a food processor and either get them really fine, or puree. Then build something back up from them.

i don't mind the sweetness, but i find the juiciness of pineapple texturally inappropriate. it's like sweet lettuce on pizza, and i don't even like lettuce on most sandwiches. pizza's not supposed to be wet.
the place we go to makes a pizza with prosciutto and figs. now that's bliss.

the pineapple also get's baked. if they're adding pineapple after the pizza was baked I would understand your point to a degree. But I think even a traditional carbonara/marinara would include cherry tomatoes for a bite of juiciness. hawaiian could be considered one of the original fusion experiments of culinary traditions.

This is a cop out. Pick a side bitchman

If I go to a restaurant for lunch and they make a Reuben I'm pretty much always going to get that.

If I'm making a sandwich for myself at home it's usually
>Whole grain bread
>Turkey
>Ken's Thousand Island dressing
>Spicy brown/grainy mustard
>Lettuce
>Tomato
>Red onion
>Hot sauce
>Swiss cheese
>Griddle fried
>Maybe some chips and a pickle on the side
