How many of you would eat human meat if cannibalism was legal? I know I sure would! Meat is meat. If it's prepped and seasoned right it would be succulent. Too bad it's like super illegal.

What are some good ways to spice up your coffee?
A friend of mine used to always spice his up with some ground cardamom in the press, another gave me a tip to toss a bag of chai in there. And there's mocha of course.
Irish coffee is a thing, never tried that. Did put rum in coffee once though, not a success, tasted exactly like a hobo smells like. Unwashed piss and dirt. Might just have been the rum though.

Anybody know other good things to put in your coffee?

I didnt quite like just cream in coffee when I tried it, but what I do like is when you have left over whipped cream from a dessert or something, put a spoonful to float on top and it slowly melts into a soft layer on top to drink the coffee through.

What's the best non-artificial material to use for a saucepan / skillet from a health perspective? Cast iron seems good.. Everything in the universe is vibration, I'm sure You know so the higher vibration of a saucepan the higher the vibration the food will become... So what's The highest vibration material for a saucepan?

I started the peel a pound soup diet 3 days ago. I am not much for diets and I have always been a tall skinny guy but am nearing 30 and have gained 30 pounds in the past 4 years or so. So I decided to do this crazy diet thats pretty intensive.

It's a 7 day diet and after the 7th day I am going to switch to another diet that is more manageable. This one is to shock my system and lose some weight fast right off the bat.

You pretty much make a soup with a whole head of cabbage/some onions/bell peppers/can of stewing tomatoes/half a head of celery. You have this every day for 7 days as much as you want. On day two you can eat some selected veggies and a baked potato with dinner. On day three you can eat some veggies and some fruit. Day four you eat 8 bananas for some reason and 4 cups of skim milk. Day five you get to eat one serving of meat for dinner. Day six is the same. Day 7 you have veggies and rice with the soup every time.

You are supposed to lose up 15 pounds from this. I am on day 3 and my stomach hurts and I fart and shit everywhere.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm too old to be a dudebro dude man. I am totally a nerd brah. I eat at least half a cabbage a day breh so don't say those things blud. Do you get me blud?

Anyway bruv I am a bit jacked now, thanks for noticing bru.

But seriously my diet is more like yours than you'd imagine. Just trying to gimmick your way in and eating that much indigestible fibre is a really stupid way to start a diet. If you stick at your change more than a month kudos but for me it was gradual changes, upping my game when the last one became easy to adhere to.

I am totally a weight lifting fag but I'm not jealous. Unless you mean one of those steam trains whose breathing technique sucks because they don't do cardio because it "kills gains brah" or just says "delts man" in the toilet in between desecrating it with their no fibre protein shits. I'm not that hardcore. I like effortlessly walking everywhere and pushing out perfect 4s.

I alternate cardio and weights but just picking up the same pieces of metal is pretty unsatisfying. I'm the type of person who just doesn't notice when they're hungry and I don't really like to cook all that much. Normally I eat the same stuff every single day but if there is ever a hiccup in this routine then I start to lose control of my diet. I've reached a healthy weight after several years of work, and now I've reached the point where I really need to keep my diet in check or I'm not going to gain any muscle, or I might start losing weight again.

Any easy recipes with little clean up would be nice, thank you. Normally I eat bananas, oranges, almonds, bread? I guess? I'm like 220 pounds and 6'4''. I dunnoh man I think I'm losing control of my life too maybe throw in some life advice with your recipes, thanks again

I lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks thanks to amphetamines. No but seriously... I was 6 foot 200lbs and now I'm back down to 170. I want to weigh 160 lbs which I think I can do in a week or two.

After I hit that weight, I will start eating and extremely healthy diet. Take vitamins, supplements, protein, fish oil. I'll start jogging and lifting again. I just really really needed to lose this weight, I feel so much better now that it's off.

IMO having a good balance of fat and muscle is better than hitting some arbitrary number.

It will depend on build and existing muscle. If he's got a thin frame not much meat on him he will be alright. If he's quite hefty even lean then 160 is dangerous. A balance of fat and muscle is good. I'm 170 at 6 foot 1 and I have easily gained 10 pounds of muscle since I first lost a lot of weight. Maybe a smidge more. I am at 10% body fat so I have more room to gain it than lose but I'm not about to die. I also was really unfit and had little muscle to start.

Anyway I'd be more worried about running a 3-5K deficit per day and not getting protein and nutrients. It's going to ravage his whole body and run it down. He'll lose muscle which is counteproductive. That sort of weight loss is fine at 300 pounds but when you're nearly there taper and get your micros and macros sorted (energy aside) it's not hard to do that on 800 calories either. You can still run a big deficit and make sure your body isn't being utterly depleted of every reserve. When the speed wears off he might realise he's sick and not be able to do this shit.

Anyone else like watching weird people eat food on Youtube? I got into Hot Ones a few years ago and really enjoyed it but haven't watched it in awhile (I think it got super popular since then). Then earlier this year someone on here posted about Steve1989, who's this incredibly polite guy that eats military MRE's from the prior century for our entertainment, and I got hooked. More recently I started watching TheReportOfTheWeek which I watched like once for the memes many years ago, but when I was looking up a food review his video on the item popped up first so I watched that and I ended up watching a lot of his most recent food reviews and he is just a delightful weirdo.

Does /nom/ have any other Youtube recommendations of weird people eating food (either weird food or normal food) or just generally entertaining food-related shows?

this is mine currently, Amba. it's a middle eastern take on a mango chutney, tried it while working at an Israeli restaurant. it's the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and sour, goes perfectly on falafel or even just bread

Stay Wok

File: 1573354436540.jpg -(38345B / 37.45KB, 550x550) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size. Stay Wok
The wok is the greatest pan/pot/cookything. You can stirfry (obviously), deep fry, braise, make a soup, make any type of egg (poached, fried, omlette western or french), it's a great steamer, you can even smoke shit in it (although I've never done that).

Confused about woks? Here's all you gotta know. A good wok is carbon steel. That's the type of steel that rusts. That's OK. It's like a cast iron, where you need a "seasoning". The oils you use slowly build up a nonstick surface that's way better than tefflon. But there's a specific technique with woks that make this seasoning easy and effective. It's not exactly how you'd use a cast iron.

The key to using a wok for high-heat cookign is "longyiau" (absolutely not spelled correctly). That's a technique for getting a nonstick surface on the wok.

You do it by heating it up the wok until it's wicked fuckin hot. Usually, that means there's smoke coming from it. Then you add a high smoke-point oil and swirl it around. Everything the oil touches becomes nonstick. Good oils to use: vegetable, soy, peanut, canola, ghee. But even low smoke point shit like butter and olive oil will work. Just don't heat up the wok as hot.

Once you've got that nonstick surface? You can stir-fry. Or, you can turn the heat low, and do something like a fried egg or whatever. You can sear meat, then braise it.

Woks are the best for deep frying. THey use less oil than a sauce pan or dutch oven. The cone also catches the oil splatter.

Woks are also great for steaming. Just throw some water in there, boil it, and put the steamer on top.

Season chicken, stick in the oven. About as easy as food gets. Same with potatoes. Also do yourself a favor and get on of the steamer pots or whatever the fuck they are called. You can throw some rice in there along with some broccoli or whatever vegetables you want, set the timer and you’ve got all that goodness with the absolute minimum work involved
