How would one go about changing their desires for what kind of food they would want to eat. All I like is salty and sugary foods. I want to eat healthier but everything I try I don't like or I stay away from weird food. Do I just force it down my throat?

Rice, canned kidney beans. The kidney bean sauce is thick in a way so it will hold
flavors well. Chili sauce, sriracha, generic store brand I think it better. add onion half way through before beans get hot for like three minutes. Add sauce toward the end of cooking with some black pepper.

Frozen vegetables, always just microwave separate and drain excess water for sure, or the water will bland every thing out. Some onion powder and seasoning powder. Some like lawrywsis ok but got burned out on it. Most prepared mixed spices main ingredient is salt and onion powder. above all. McCormic grill mates garlic and herb seems to be the easiest to work into a lot of foods projects. The herb part I think kicks the garlic into the right space.

I'm here to ruin your life.

Aromatic vegetables. You slice them up using a knife that is sharp. You cook them on a low temperature (sweating) until they are clear, they start to melt, then smell delicious. You use a fat, oil or lipid of some variety to keep them from sticking, you listen to how they sound. If they scream, you are hurting them, let them sing to you, telling you they love their warm new home and are making lots of flavor friends.

Salt is two things in balance, Sodium, a metal that burns when in contact with air or water, and chlorine, a corrosive poison that kills your lungs if you breathe it. Salt comes with iodine, it is good to have that in your diet, you need some of it or you will start to bleed uncontrollably similar to scurvy. More on that later.

Salt is essential for life. You need it or you will die. You eat too much of it and you will pop your blood-tubes. Don't eat garbage food and you will never have to worry about salt intake.

You put salt on the aromatic vegetables, then they let their water out into the pan, the water boils and turns into steam, which leaves the pan. The flavor is now more concentrated and more delicious than before.

Pepper, black pepper. It comes from little seeds that when ground up are full of aromatic chemicals and a few psychoactive ones. You can get high from black pepper, but right now we're cooking with it. You have onion? Okay good, smells nice, tasty, but what if you put black pepper and onion together? The aromatic chemicals in these two things combine when heated, and you get new aromatic chemicals, and even better flavor.

Ok, so that is why you season your trinity, mirepoix, soffritto, et al.

First there this thing called chiffonade, but if you want your cilantro in big chunks that cool too.

So you take the cilantro, and you roll it into a very tight little bundle on some kitchen paper (you don't have to, but if you're not used to finely cutting herbs it helps), then you carefully shave small pieces off it using a sharp knife.

The onion you want in little bitty tiny pieces, or strings, or diced, depends how much you like onion. But white onion with cilantro and lime juice, yeah, i'll just eat a bowl of that with a spoon.

I hate these things.

It was my first job; early 2006. I was attending a Le Cordon Bleu school, and I needed a job. I found one at a Jack In The Box. It was okay at first. I'd come in early in the morning and do all the prep work (stacking cheese, cutting tomatoes, making salads, thawing shit, washing dishes). I'd usually be out of the door by 11AM.

Then, I was put on lunch and/or dinner shift. Lunch shift was the worst.

If you've never been to Jack In The Box, they serve some unusual sides for a fast food place. The egg rolls were never an issue, but the tacos were. Oh yes, those famous Jack In The Box tacos. 2 for 99 cents. How the construction workers loved to pile up in the drive-in, ordering 100-150 tacos at a time for their entire crew. The bastards.

You see, Jack's taco came frozen. The beef was pre-cooked inside the shell, so you'd use a special tool that held six tacos at once. We only had four of the tools, so the most we could make at once was 24. You'd press the "TACO" button hanging off the vent, one time for each "row" you fried.

Then comes the fun part. Ever grab something straight out of the fryer while wearing latex gloves? Well, imagine the fun of sliding open 100+ steaming hot taco shells, taking care not to break them, to stuff lettuce, cheese, and hot sauce inside them. I loved peeling the melted gloves off my hands every five minutes.

Basically what I'm trying to say is: Don't order tacos from Jack In The Box. Don't be an asshole.

I was in the store the other day and spotted this gem. Seriously? That's like putting mayo on a stick! YOU CAN'T HAVE MAYONNAISE ON A STICK. GM must just be fucking off at this point. I guess they've made so much other bullshit they're out of both ideas and shame.

Hey what's a good website for recipes? I really hate the new format of recipe websites filled with adds and horrible interfaces. I just want straight forward recipes and we have special soups weekly where I work so I often need to think of a new vegan soup or a non-vegan soup on the fly and sometimes I google things and get trapped on shitty websites with basic ass bullshit soups.
