Gen 3 or Gen 4?

Now, I've been recently getting into firearms in general. Just took the CW course in my state and I'm dead set on getting a Glock 17 from that experience after trying a few other 9mm pistols. However, for the most part, I'm not sure whether or not I'd prefer a Gen 3 or Gen 4.

While I could look at the differences between the two online, which I intend to do as I get closer to making a decision for purchase, I was wondering if anyone here on /nra/ could assist me in making a decision between Gen 3 or Gen 4.

Beyond the listed differences/updates were there any subtle differences that you noticed that might not be mentioned in a cursory google search between the two (trigger sensitivity, potential cleaning issues, magazine spring, grip feel, etc.)?

Since my budget isn't amazing high right now, is the difference in price worth the purchase at this point or should I consider looking into a used/refurbished one of the two and if so, which one?

Any recommended initial attachment purchases (different sight, extended mag, flashlight, etc.)?

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Nope! If there is a difference it's miniscule. I had two 23s and the muzzleflip/recoil felt the same between the gen 4 and gen 2. Maybe there's a more noticable difference in the longslide models you used. From my experience the .40S&W in a compact frame will be snappy regardless of springs used. I ditched my gen 4 and kept the gen 2. It's got an overall better feel to it in my opinion so i'm more accustomed to it thus improving accuracy and comfort.

i've got one of those old estwing hatchets somewhere, thing's never been sharp but it's durable AS FUCK. leather rotted, some heat-shrink rubber around the handle fixed it, it's ancient. also an estwing roofing hammer. it was well used when i found it by the side of the road and it's proven to be a noticeably excellent hammer, as well as effectively indestructible in the time that i've used/abused it.

the important bit: if you've got an estwing tool it'll probably outlive you and your children, but their bladed tools don't seem to hold an edge well.

>>42558
>Take care of your shit [sic]. There's people using g their grandfather's axe heads because lo and behold the axe was of good quality.
truth. keep the edge away from anything harder than the blade material, and if it can rust then keep it clean and greasy between jobs.

i got gifted a gransfors bruks forest axe a while ago. i'll take this moment to promote the FUCK out of the thing. far as i can tell it can render an entire forest into mulch without suffering any serious harm. plus you can shave with it if you touch up the edge a bit.

So I bought an AR-15 lower receiver the other day, cerakoted (flat dark earth I think).

I trained with the M16/M4 series of rifles in the Army, so I'm pretty familiar with the weapons system, but I've never built one from scratch before. What should I be aware of? What should I look into and do next?

I already have an AK type rifle for closer engagements, so I'm looking to build a mid/long range rifle.

Thanks.

They are pretty similar. The main differences come with carrying firearms and state protections of the right to keep and bear arms as well as prohibiting communities from restricting firearms.

In order to carry a firearm concealed in Nevada you need to qualify with each firearm you plan to carry for your ccw. In Arizona you don't even need a permit, but ccw are available.

Technically the gun laws are better in Arizona, but not for buying AR-15's and magazines. They're pretty much the same when it comes to types of firearms you can own.

in AZ you dont need a permit to concealed carry, and there is no limitation on blade length or blade style. you can walk down the street with a shotgun and a katana in your pants and it's cool

Watched a guy pull a bullet out of his arm on YouTube earlier... scrolling through the comments people were talking about what caliber it might have been because the dude said .22, but it looked way bigger.

Anyway, found this gem among them:

"he even attempts to show its a 22. on the inside a 22. is massive its 55.6mm the same as a m16 in width a 9mm is as big as the top of your finger and if you ever shot a 9mm you would know it will blow your whole arm off. all 9mm have allot of velocity as its a massive round where as a 22. (55,6mm) is known to have small cartridges and might skin pop."

>if you ever shot a 9mm you know it will blow your whole arm off
> 22 might skin pop

Sup /nra/, I got this old Daisy Model 120 laying around the house and an infestation of chipmunks muddling up my garden. I want to kill them, but I also want to make sure they die a fast death. Will this single-pump BB gun do the trick?

I found it put a hole in one chipmunk at about 20 yards, but another seemed uninjured at the same distance. Pic related.

Hey OP, I bought a Daisy Powerline 880 myself, cost about $47 then bought a $5 tin of 250 Ruger hollowpoint pellets for another $5. This pellet gun isn't single pump so you can adjust the power of your shot if you want. The company recommends ten pumps but I sometimes do 12-15 if shooting at longer range. It has rails for a scope but the iron sights are quite nice, but they needed a lot of sighting in right out of the box because it was pulling to the right by a LOT but I eventually got it on target.

This thing has more than enough power. I've hunted chipmunks, squirrels, Opossums, and rabbits with it without too much trouble. Please note that for the opossums and rabbits I was pulling off head shots. Squirrels and chipmunks though body shots were just plain fine and like with any animal, aim for the vitals for a clean kill.

so for a little over $50 I got an excellent and comfortable varmint rifle. It has a Monte-carlo style stock so it has a nice cheek weld with the built in cheek rest. It can shoot both BB's and pellets and it has a rifled barrel, which makes a big impact on accuracy since a surprising amount of .177 air rifles are smoothbore.

I highly recommend it. Daisy says some models of the 880 come with a 4x scope but, mine didn't.

Anyone know how they overcame the myriad reasons why this was never a thing before? You know, power supply, recoil, the gun tending to deposit about a ton of hot brass in your right ear in about 2.5 seconds?

I suspect modern batteries is how you overcome the power problem, and just general engineering improvements for the other two. Doesn't fix the fact no human can carry enough ammo to run a minigun for any length of time, or that its a solution looking for a problem that GPMGs solved years ago.

It is my understanding you don't need a license to keep a gun in your car in Texas as it is considered part of your residence. Does that mean I need to let a cop know I have it if I get pulled over?

P90s are shit because it's impossible to get the LE one. So you're stuck with the 90fs model with it's awkward 16" barrel.

Also have fun being poor as you pay out the ass for 5.7 ammo.

Lrn2 SBR and just get it the non-shit version with a 10 or 12 inch barrel.

Not much you can do about being unable to get a full auto version, but almost any actual operator operating operationally who has access to it is going to train for extremely short bursts and single shots anyway.

Also the ammo isn't that expensive and it isn't FN exclusive anymore, a lot of groups are manufacturing it now. I will mention that I personally think the caliber in general is retarded, though, as it's just a fancy .22 WMR and the talk of it being armor piercing is mostly myth, only one version of 5.7 ammo was ever designed to defeat armor and it was only capable of defeated level 2 soft armor, it does fuck all against 3A soft armor which is the modern standard and it won't even dent a level 4 plate.

If you jolly african-americans want something useful just get an 8 inch barreled AR-15 pistol and put a SIG brace on it to avoid SBR paperwork and fee, the ATF already ruled it's legal to use the 'arm brace' type devices on your shoulder, they still don't recognize them as 'stocks'.

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

It is NOT LEGAL to shoulder the SB 15 arm brace or any of it's variants. This constitutes making the pistol into a RIFLE.

The ATF released a secondary letter about this and it is NOT OKAY to shoulder the arm braces.

Please do not spread this misinformation as it is dangerous and can get honest men arrested!
