My father and I are having a heated argument. He says a woman he knows survived a point blank blast from a 10 gauge shotgun to her lower back. I say her abdomen would have been vaporized, no chance of survival. I told him he had been lied to or misheard details of the story but he thinks it's legitimate.

So, help me out. For the sake of argument and possible variables, assume the following scenario:

>Middle aged female victim with 10g shotgun aimed anywhere in the square area between the bottom of her shoulder blades and the top of her buttocks
>Gunman anywhere from point blank, muzzle-on-back to 10 feet away
>Any kind of possible ammo, from buckshot to a slug to a steak knife jammed down the barrel.

Who is right? Would she have been blown to bits or could she have survived?

I have never been to this board. 10 gauge. Cheap or kinda expired ammunition? Maybbe

So 10 gauges, are kinda rare. I do not do guns stuffs. but it is freak possible for a 10 gauge to fail.

guy was shot in the chest. I think it was very deliberate. I would not have shot/hunted with them. Not even remotely close.

If you hear something weird, we all know certain rounds and what they should like.
I would say this, if something is wrong, your gun will tell you this.

M1 Garand Feels

Hi pewpewpew. First time here. Frequenter of /opi/. I feel out of place with so many normal people...

Anyway. Fired an M1 Garand a while back. Loved the feel and have been nostalgic for how it felt in my hand. The heavy, hand carved, stocky, light recoil, and ping sound is sorely missed.

I'm in Canuckistan and can't get anything with more than a 5 round mag for a semi-auto. I know an SKS is the cheaper option to go for. But I want something that feels like an M1 Garand that doesn't cost $2000.

lol i've heard that about the Jap Nambu

The M1A jamming I've heard of has to do with the action being exposed and moving, allowing stuff to get caught in the movement. The only people who can complain are the guys who hold the rifle by the action and not farther up. I hold mine with the sling and have no problems.

When I was researching the rifle, some codbloper had videos of his "combat rifle school" and he showed how his glove would get caught in the action and jam things up. The only guy in the class with tacticool gear on; go figure.

You're a retard who needs to read a fucking (law)book because M1 Garands are non-restricted and come in their normal 8 round capacity. weapons with internal magazines have higher magazine limits and M1s technically feed from >clips in the eyes of the law despite the en-bloc being a horrible demon clipazine contraption.

mag limits only apply to things that are BOTH
>centrefire
>detachable magazine fed
and even then getting an RPAL is fucking trivial if you aren't a huge nog

real tempted to report you for being an american disinfo agent/troll

M1s are expensive as fuck because of fudd tax and not because of the law

Parcel cutters are a new EDC item I'm seeing among ex-military and ex-spook types online. (Pic related.) The advantage to them is under Canadian law it's illegal to carry a knife which can be flipped open with one hand (i.e. nearly every pocket knife). Parcel cutters, on the other hand, are a legitimate tool and can be carried in most places.

They're also apparently devastating if used as a last resort for self defense. Thoughts?

I didn't know picks are illegal in Canada. Retarded but unsurprising. I mostly wanted to draw attention to the parcel cutter. I don't even think the OP pic itself is from Canada

Do you have 10k rounds of ammo for that AR? Do you own NODs, a better optic an IR laser to put on the free float handguard? Do you have spare parts in case something breaks? Do you have a 2nd AR in case that one shits the bed? Do you have enough land to grow crops and raise livestock along with collecting and storing fresh water?

The climate should be like earth, breathable atmosphere, plenty of water and game. Other living things could be any crazy lifeform. You get ammo for the rest of your life if you arent too trigger happy.

-G3 with SpecterDr. Id probably take 2 of these if i have to use them forever. Good general purpose scopes, would work reliably in duststorms or arctic blizzards. Id also want a rifle grenade adapter
-double barrel 12ga. I like being able to go from bird to bear instantly.
-.S&W M29 6 inch barrel. I can carry this around in a holster all the time
-.700 double rifle. That much energy into a skull would be my thing for punching above my weight. Idk if id hunt a Trex with one but i believe it would drive one off
-RPG
-after that if i have space an MG3 with an Elcan and a few barrels

Hey dudes. I'm not new to guns or shooting or anything. I was in the army for awhile. However I've never bought a gun of my own because I was always living with people who had guns.

Anyway, I'm wanting to buy a gun to keep in my car for self defense purposes. This is legal in Texas. I prefer revolvers, and would like to keep the cost as low as possible. What do you guys recommend?

i would say this OP. these are 300-360 brand new. .357 lets you use .38 special ammo too. I still haven't gotten a revolver and think I'm getting a .357 when I do. prob a ruger unless something else catches my eye.

What do you think about G10 weapons?

I started seeing these a while ago when G10 knuckles started popping up more. The advantage is they're legal in Canada since they're "knuckles" but not made of mental. I've heard they have a problem with durability/impact though.

Yesterday I picked up a Black Triangle Midnight Creeper MK1 Mod2. (Pic related.) The tool is sold as a letter opener and it's sold with a lifetime warranty which is nice. It's quite light and apparently the point hits different when penetrating organic material
