what do you do to hide your junkie face? i've been on methadone for years (sometimes i do get dope but its been two years since my last relapse). I'm currently traveling in Europe and i was in a hotel lobby, this brit tourist ( now i know why everyone hates brit tourists in this area) saw me and told his buddies " fucking smackhead".
I kind of look like the guy in this picture but not as skinny.

No idea what you are talking about. I've seen people who were on H for years and they look like the ones who aren't using. It's the marks on arms that gives them away, not their face.

There's always something that gives away the dope face specially after years of using. I know, you don't look as fucked up as a tweaker but still.

I'm just giving examples of the junkie stare/look. For some reason i still have dark circles under my eyes. Good thing the methadone at my dose (40mg) is not giving me pin point eyes.

The bags under the eyes can be allergies, lack of sleep, said something to your girlfriend she took the wrong way. Bad skin can be due to allergies, skin condition, diet, or whatever. Now the sucked in mouth thing from losing your teeth is more complex...

First, see a dentist once every year or two. Spend all your money on dope and think you can't afford a dentist? Go to the nearest university with a dental program. They will love you I promise. Your work will be performed by someone who has never done the procedure and it will hurt. But all work must be signed off on by an instructor so they'll fix whatever is wrong, free of charge. I got 2 gold crowns that didn't cost a cent.

If you've already lost your teeth you're not completely fucked. I would advise getting implants ASAP. Have yet to figure out how to get those for free. If you can't get that at least get a bridge. If your problem is severe, dentures. If you can't afford those grow a beard. Sleeping once every day or two helps a lot.

Pretty much this unless you are working an ultra demanding job. Even when I was working full time and a full time student I got called out on it.

I get dopey looking eyes and my pupils get super tiny when im high. I feel like having green eyes makes it more noticeable. Plus I fucking hate my high voice. It makes me sound like a dumb ditzy blonde when I'm really just high af.

The only noticeable feature was definitely my eyes being red and pinpoint pupils. I've always been a skinny fucker so nothing new there. I was fully addicted to fentanyl for over a year, dosing every 30 minutes all day long and no one ever knew. As long as I had eye-drops I was fine. Not quite sure what it would take to fully get junkie-face if even using fentanyl all day everyday for over a year doesn't cause it.

I think, like meth mouth and whatnot, it has more to do with the lifestyle associated with drug use than the drug itself

perhaps the other choices you made in life during that time prevented you from seeing such a fate

I think the most important thing is to remember to eat, sleep, and don't slack on personal hygiene. Foregoing brushing and flossing along with not sleeping and not eating eventually wears away your youth. Your body isn't getting the fuel it needs to operate normally, and to pile on it's also having to process the poison you're constantly throwing at it. Detoxifying chemicals has to be harder to do when you don't have any antioxidants or nutrients in the gas tank.

take care of yourself? shave, shower, brush your teeth, eat enough food, make your hair decent, don't dress like an asshole just cause you're high and don't care, that sort of stuff. also don't lose any teeth, that's not usually a good look.

I just embrace it tbh, because i dont give enough of a shit to worry about it, everyone in my circle are junkies tweakers and wreckheads, and i dont give a shit what the guy selling me an oil burner, a bottle of mad dog and packages of raman at the Pakistani quick mart thinks about me, im his bread and butter along with alchies they have a very caveat emptor attitude, theyd sell smack and tina on the shelves if they could, everyone makes choices in life, whose to say which ones are good and which ones are bad

Sorry, but pretty much anyone can say spending your life tweaking out of an oil burner and bottles of mad dog with a side of ramen from the Pakistani quik mart is a bad decision. If you're happy then rock on, I've certainly made my share of terrible decisions in my life but you gotta recognize they are pretty terrible. Gotta be honest with at least yourself, if not anyone else.

If this were written in a personal journal you kept, this is something you'd write down in your notebook as you're coming up, then you'd read it later when you were sick, or out of the game, and wonder what mental place you were in.

Usually not an issue but after a h drought n eating codeine for a month i think, first time getting h again i was already digesting approx 400mg codeeine, 1200mg gabapentin & around 40mg valium (was on it night before too so valium halflife got pushed really high)... For the walk n wait

Got ripped off half my gear but had .7g no3 for £55 which is too high but its ok in the end because i was nodding at work after smoking a few trays... Had to boost eye contact ect while my eyes were constantly trying to close or stare aimlessly... Then shutting my eyes (like now my eyes are squinted trrying to focus after some good weed, last nights valium (long halflife, still potentiates in aniloxyc* phase. *-spelling probs wrong) & like .1 smoked no3 i keep fading & my eyes actually begin to go pinned ect. Just had to drink some monster & try to look normal till it worked

Its a different culture regarding work drug tests so thats ok if its not repeating behaviour, at least in the UK

you just have to stay calm & try not to mess up

Repeated*, as in more than once. Not 3or 5, especially if you smell of weed. Been bag searched for that at work, fortunally had only normal things apart from an otc, unoppened box of 8/500mg cocods which they already know about that coz i had almost completely severed right index finger. Which hurts sometimes nearly a year after the reattachment surgery. Its for crates landing on the wound as irt can get really painfu.
Not being drug tested so far lol have to be careful like

Yup. That junj draawl is my giveaway. Everything else is fine for me, no itching, my eyes are dark af anyways so you have to look super close or the sum has to hit my eyes right to see the constricted pupils, but theres no way around that change in voice.

In terms of looking tired/eye bags I mostly get away with 'insomnia', which I make sure to put down on any job application (I am medically diagnosed, though it's definitely drug induced).

In terms of the sunken face, make sure you're eating properly my dude. Force yourself to eat if you have to, but you'll get a noticeable improvement in a week or two.

Not sure what the voice is from, I personally haven't noticed it myself (tea user tho). Maybe try DXM?

The thing that gives it away for me is the itching, that makes you look like a smackhead/tweaker. Although 'allergies' normally works. I do wonder how many people 'know' and just don't say anything, there's definitely a few.

Luckily I'm on a very good salary and only use PST, so the financial side effects are negligible. I also try to not abuse it so I very rarely nod (and if I do it's planned, at home).

Honestly the thing that gives it away the most is the fact that I never want to go out drinking (cause it makes me fucking nauseous due to opiate and benzo use) and that I have a somewhat strict schedule of needing to make/consume PST twice a day.
