I love all types of music but I don’t fuck with rap much when I’m on opiates

ive actually been listening to a lot of suicideboys lately. I never got into them despite knowing of them for a quite a while due to the way they emerged and being into buffetboys, g59 and all of them since forever. but in the past month or so I gave them another shot and wow. their music is amazing and you guys would love it if you enjoy hip hop and opioids.

skrim has tons of verses about dope and addiction. well they both do but skrim is definitely the junkie of the two. a good starter would be 'either hated or ignored'. if you like old three 6 mafia, this is right up your alley. check out germ, pouya, shakewell, fat nick, and boobie lootavelli if you enjoy $B.

for more ambient music I lean mainly towards ask for joy which a lot of you seemed to like last time I posted it. shoegazey type stuff. burial is a solid choice as well as stars of the lid. the ultimate /opi/ music for me is shlohmo though as each album has its own feel and is just such a universal sound that even listening to it sober brings feelings of euphoria. check out the albums bad vibes and the end. also the song 'beams' which I forget which album it is on but the music video for that song is also really neat.

tl;dr
suicideboys
germ
pouya
shakewell
fat nick
boobie lootavelli

nonrap:
ask for joy
stars of the lid
burial
shlohmo

Been a big fan of $ui for a while but eventually the drug glorification with them gets almost annoyingly repetitive, and it's depressing. Still love it though.

I'm a fan of all them as well, do you also like Lil Ugly Mane (who is my all time favorite), Slug Christ, Supasortahuman, Ramirez?

Rap is only a small part of what I listen to now. I've gone back to a lot of my other favorite genres like new wave i.e. The Smiths, XTC. Lots of classic rock, some jazz, alternative etc. I wouldn't say I have nod tracks.. just tracks for life in general.. Oh and track on my arm lol.

Here's one about opiates I love, some Nick Cave if anyone's into that kind of stuff.

For legitimate, these negros know what's happening
I (although my music represents Anglo-American tradition I grew up with)recognize my respect for these negro musicians
in the 1920s and 1930s

I'm partial to Elliott Smith when it comes to opiates. It can make me angsty though if I start thinking too hard about the man himself.

Dang I missed your post completely. But yes I listen to Ramirez he’s one of my favorites out of the g59/buffet boys squad. Lol ugly mane I couldn’t get into but tons of my friends loved him. One of my old friends actually sold a beat to lil B lol.

I’ve been solely listening to hip hop lately but do listen to about everything. Was a scene kid faggot so a lot of death core and hard core stuck with me among plenty of gems. Lately I’ve been exploring other countries music like African Scream Contest and CBC Band. One is African the other Vietnamese. Some dope Thai pop from the 70s like the mix up from Sublime Frequencies.
