that said it's a drug that's manufactured clandestinely a lot of places, mostly in South Africa, so it's not a totally unreasonable goal for a novice like LSD or oxycontin would be, but still probably beyond someone with zero experience
if you legitimately want to put in the effort to learn, put this one on the back burner and start with simpler things like A/B extraction of mescaline or DMT from plant material, CBD isolate -> THC is also supposedly not a difficult synth but you might need actual lab equipment to do it I can't recall, I've never done it, you can look through procedures and look for ones that don't require special equipment/hard to find precursors, usually these are simple reactions that change a tiny part of the chemical structure, ephedrine/PSE -> meth/amphetamine is one of these but it can be a pain to get enough for a decent yield with the legal restrictions on it in a lot of places
when buying equipment, make sure to use borosilicate glass like Pyrex or actual lab grade glass, you can get sets on Amazon or eBay and there are plenty of legitimate uses for it as a hobby so there's nothing too sketch about it, just again make sure it's borosilicate glass, some cheaper sets from China just use regular glass, borosilicate is more fragile but way better at withstanding changes in temperature, virtually a necessity, use a hotplate/heating mantel rather than a bunsen burner whenever possible, because you'll likely be dealing with very volatile solvents that give off flammable vapors that are heavier than air, so it can build up on the bench especially without good ventilation and potentially ignite, ether is notoriously bad in this regard
when buying chemicals and precursors, don't buy them in one purchase at a single store, and know some legitimate uses to have in the back of your head in case they ask what you need it for, muriatic (hydrochloric) acid is very commonly used in synths, it's used for pool maintenance among other things, DCM is a solvent you might need to use, also used by people who build models, basically anything you can buy at the store has a legitimate use, and at hardware stores especially they can and will ask you what you need something for
over time you'll notice there are some harder to get reagents that will crop up that you'll need, many of these you can get on chemical suppliers like SigmaAldrich but at a huge markup, and some of them are regulated very closely, so in the long run it's better to make these yourself as well, chloroform is one that comes to mind that's just bleach and one other household chemical I can't remember off the top of my head
I'm not sure if any precursors for methylqualone are on the DEA watched list like safrole or piperidine, but these are slightly harder to get, most of the time there are actually legitimate uses for the chemical i.e. safrole is used in candy and certain beverages, you still have to register these purchases, you get put on a watch list, and there's a limited amount you can purchase in a set time, usually want to avoid purchasing these online or with a card, getting these can be the hardest part the easiest way is to know someone who can get it, since the stuff that's used for clandestine drug making is largely stolen |
