So I've recently started taking 15mg x2 at night for anxiety/depression switching from escitalopram. I noticed it had effects on the first day (put me to sleep for 12 hours with just 15mg crazy lucid dreams). It seems to work a lot better for anxiety for me and overall it seems to be helping me. Anyone use it medically or other anti-depressants?

It seems to reaaally help with my physical anxiety which is the main problem for me.

I started on it recently too, i like it so far mostly for relief from suicidal ideation which is rly helpful. The hallucinations i got from it when i first started were crazy, i remember laying down and having visions of detailed dreamlike landscapes, 3 dimensional chrome objects, rainbow-like tracers on everything. It surprised me at first how powerful it is in that regard bc its the first antidepressant ive ever taken. The sedation was a bit overpowering for me but its beginning to taper i think

You're having hallucinations like that from a medical dose...?! if that doesn't subside i'd ask your doc about that

Happened to me too. Very weird drug. Sedates, crazy dreams, and makes you eat like a beast which for someone who struggles with that I would highly recommend it for that alone. The weird psychedelic shit wears off quick in a week or so. Only AD that hasn't scared me to be on. Fuck all that broken dick parkinsons shit. Let pharmaceuticals be your last line. You don't want to be dependent or you're putting all your eggs in a shaky drug basket that can be fucked up 8 ways before the script gets to your pharmacy.

My dr's office is above my pharmacy ahhahaa. Yeah, I was getting broken dick from escitalopram. I read wiki article of mirtazapine and it sounded like something that I could use. My anxiety is physical

This is me to a tee. I also stopped taking Escitalopram, because it was also killing my dick. What a coincidence. I've noticed the shift from 15mg to 30mg has been surprisingly difficult (agitation, stronger emotions, etc.), but that's starting to calm down. I don't know what happens if you go up to 45 or 60mg.

Not much, but you do gain even more weight. I only got the hallucinations after the first dose of 15mg never again or on any dose increases. 45mg doesn't seem to be much more effective than 30mg though it is more sedating and the hunger... "I am ravenous for all of the baking ingredients individually".

I felt like a total zombie on mirt.

Hated it.

I can agree with the weird visuals though, primarily when you close your eyes and are waiting for sleep to hit.

I just hate how it makes me feel the next day. Zombie-ish.

it also gave me the most horrifying nightmares I've ever had.
