I recently got a lot of ambien from a Dr. I trying to figure out what the right dose is for me to trip. I am currently on 20mg. I feel very inebriated, not much trippy effects though. Words seem to come off the screen as a type them but that's about it.

Any advice with this drug? Past experiences?

You will probably fall asleep before you have any kind of trip. Enjoy the sleep inducing effect.

Lol Ambien is nuts and there is no middle ground. I either have a chill time I half remember or a time I know was absolutely bonkers and chilling with the phantoms but can't remember shit

OP here

Doctor is throwing hypnotics at me. I have eszopiclone/lunesta now. Is this a similar high to ambien? What are the differences? Can I combo ambien and lunesta? Can I snort it?

Any experiences are welcome

wouldnt this be like bennadryl but on steroids? not a trip but more of a delirious nightmare. I have a really rough time with sleep but my dr wont give me anything besides benzos for some reason. I did take tamazapam once, and ended up driving to an atm to withdraw 20 bucks that i think was for weed. I woke up and found the money and receipt, however, I did not remember it at all, complete blackout. very very very scary. be careful

OP here

Okay update, more of a trip report. Two nights ago I was bored and got a six pack of beer at around midnight. The beer was 5% so not really that strong. I also took 4g of some MD kratom with the beer.

I decided to take some eszopiclone/lunesta about four beers in, I took 9mg PO (1am). I finished the last two beers and was playing some Starcraft 2. As the eszopiclone/lunesta kicked in, mixed with the alcohol, I felt really good. I was so relaxed, it felt like a benzo with euphoria. This is where things get really foggy. I have a flash memory of snorting 10mg of ambiem/zolpidem at an unknown time, bad idea.

Next thing I know I am in a 24hour CVS (drug store) miles from my house talking to a employee asking where the benzedrex inhalers are. I checked my phone the next day and found out I ubered to the CVS, did not drive. Next memory is me back at my house cracking the inhalers open and eating them. I remember nothing after this.

I wake up the next morning in my bed super fucked up, like tripping on something. I look around my room and find a empty bottle of robitussin and a bottle a benadryl spilled all over the floor. At this point I know I drank the robitussin and took I don't know how much benadryl the night before, I am tripping hard but not fully delirious.

Side note I have done DXM and DPH many, many times, comboed them many times as well. I know what the feeling is when you are on both and this what I was feeling.

So I spend the entire next day laying in my bed and feeling like complete shit. I slip in and out of reality listening to music, trying to make the best of it. By around 8pm I was able to get out of bed and eat something. I then took seroquel around 10pm to just sleep it off more.

Over all I wouldn't say it was a bad time, just crazy and unpredictable. I feel lucky I didn't do anything too stupid. There seems to be no middle point with hypnotics. You are either feeling them a little or completely blacked out. I know what I did was not safe but I feel like I had no control, not sure how to use these drugs responsibly. 9mg of lunesta was where I went wrong I think. I have taken 9mg before with no problem but this was the first time I comboed it with alcohol.

I tripped on Ambien on accident when I was first prescribed it for insomnia. Not worth it OP, it's just delirium.
I couldn't tell you dosage information, but if you want to know what the "high" is like, that's it.

I used to do a lot of Ambien, it's a pretty meh drug all around, although I'm sure I've had fun with it. Basically you get extreme amnesia, and your frontal lobe just shuts the fuck down for a while, leaving you free to make a lot of questionable/bad decisions without reason or common sense getting in the way. I think the real fun comes the next day when you play detective and try to piece together the events of the prior evening.

First and last time I tried ambien I popped 20mg and sat down to eat leftover pizza, and then I somehow woke up in the ER with 5 stitches on my chin and a black eye.

Yeah? First time I tried ambien, I sat down to watch the last episode of Paranoia Agent and realized I was tripping balls when I noticed that suddenly the entire series made perfect sense!... then I looked up at the whirlpool that the ceiling fan had become, and confirmed my deduction...
Ambien is fucking strange though. Most consistently unreliable drug I have ever encountered. Never even seems to matter the dose, just rolling a 1d20 for results each time.

I fully agree with u about it being unpredictable as fuck. There were times I took 40mg and it didnt do much and times were I took 25mg and I came to the next day with my room filled with half eaten snacks and full meals. That was fun to clean up

YEah, weirdest fucking thing isn't it? Maybe because it's more of a hypnotic drug than anything else. 3/5 times it might help me sleep, 1/5 did jack shit, and 1/5 it would animate inanimate objects, like Cheerios, squirming around like tasty donut shaped maggots...

From what I've heard it's really just dependent on your own brain chemistry. Some people trip hard on the medically approved dose they take to treat insomnia. Others don't trip at all before they start ODing.

It does increase your appetite I find, although I am taking zopiclone which is similar to zolpidem.

I had that effect as well. One night I even grabbed this huge sausage from the fridge and I don't remember it. I woke up with it mostly eaten. I passed out on a chunk of it while eating and woke up with my bed smelling like sausage.

Lunesta and presumably its twin brother zopiclone are the most benzo-like z-drug that's commonly prescribed. This is due to the fact it's the least "specific" z-drug and therefore affects most subtypes somewhat evenly, causing all the benzo type effects. This is different than say Ambien which has mostly drowsiness effects and less muscle relaxant/anxiolytic/anti convulsant effects.

Any time I had a choice over which z-drugs I could get, I always pushed for lunesta because it's basically half ambien half temazepam benzo hybrid wrapped in the more politically correct "z-drug sleep aid" blanket instead of being an "evil" benzo.

The only thing is it causes a metallic AF taste in your mouth, both from it touching your tongue and just somewhat from being in your blood. I always placed it in an empty 00 capsule, either whole, in halves, or crushed up. You should do the same.

Also, don't snort benzos. Ambien might be half decent snorted but I don't know personally. Maybe lunesta works nasally, maybe not.

So yeah, stick with lunesta if you seek a pseudo-benzo, or stick with ambien if your goal is occasional hallucinogenic effects.

what did you say to get prescribed?

I've had bouts of insomnia lately, despite cutting out caffeine and screens after 9pm

thought it might be useful to knock me out when it strikes, HATE going through a day on like 3-4 hours of sleep

I was on that shit for ten years. More ambien won't give you more effects, it will just knock you out and make you lose your memory. You have to potentiate it.

Yeah, Zopiclone is one of the very few "recreational" drugs that my doc is happy to prescribe. He claims it is his "favourite sleeping pill" also while ignoring the fact that it gets you high as fuck.
It's been a while since I've been on it, and also I've never done Ambien so I can't really compare.
What I'm trying to say is that it should be easy enough to get a script for it, if you're interested, the doc refuses to prescribe benzos due to the nasty addiction and side effects they cause, which Zopiclone apparently lacks.

Try mirtazapine. Is good for racing thoughts and will usually be sleeping in ten minutes. As a benefit it is an anti-depressant, that is kinder than z-drugs.
Which sleep can be simply 8 hours like clockwork. Of if needed 5 hours of sleep and have to wake up, you are usually able to wake up and drowsyness may be gone in 20 minutes with a lot of energy at that.
