Ok so I looked 3 pages back and no trade thread.

Trade thread/bwb (bump while battlin') thread.

I desperately need help to get this seadra in OR evolved. I need to get on gen 7 but I can't find my pokemon moon that I played through.

I think there's a few builds where you WANT bad IVs in one stat, like with special attackers so they don't get fucked by swagger as bad. but overall I'd be cool with it if IVs were either axed or simplified. they made sense before, different wild pokemon having different capabilities made sense to me. but once hackers started making 6iv teams that dominated tournaments, and then nintendo added in proper IV breeding in gen 6, it seemed like it wasn't serving a purpose beyond grinding. I like the concept of egg moves and passing down the pokeball they were caught in though.

Pokemon Fire Red Omega on phone

This is for those who would like to play Pokemon Fire Red or Fire Red Omega (basically FR with harder battles and all 420 pokemon available) on their phones and with easily cheated mons. Get an emulator app and the rom you want (if you need help, I'll give it, but I doubt you do), and then get the app PokeTweet. The interface is a bit shitty, but it works for easily hacking in whatever pokemon you want to have with all the natures, EVs, IVs, shiny, items, etc. Basically this thread is just an ad for PokeTweet. I built my whole team on it with no grind for a playthrough and I'm having a blast. The starters are switched too. In FRO they are Magby, Smoochum, and Elekid (all of which and their evos have +10 to all stats).

How Do You Make Teams

I don't care about what pokemon you use specifically, just what you look for in a team. Do you look for:

>type diversity
>pokemon that fill certain rolls
>swag
>themes (all bird pokemon, all blue pokemon, etc.)
>common types (gym leader style)
>or something else?

I have a few things I look for. I either make a bird team, because birds are the best pokemon, or I make a tough guy team (pic related), ideally with an edgy douche trainer if it can be helped, and a shiny Qwilfish named Reuben with a rash personality.

Also, and this is deplorable, but I tend to hack all the pokemon I want (3-8 mons) into my PC at a low level from the get go, with EVs already set and perfect IVs/nature. It's a perfectionists nightmare, as I can't stand to catch pokemon for a team when I know that they aren't as good as they could be (as if you need competitive level mons to beat the E4). Anyway, tell us about what goes into the selection of your teams /po/.

Single player
>type diversity
>aesthetic diversity
>majority of team monsters I've never used the rest ones I've barely tried
>At least a couple of the new ones
>usually mostly built for coverage and hitting power
>couple of exceptions which are usually higher maintenance but better in a pinch

There's no point in min/maxing. Though for .5 of a generation I might have some bred iv/eved monsters and level them while I'm at it.

Competitive
>type diversity
>role synergy depending on my strategy
>make sure i have at least a couple of situational answers to any threat
>mix of attacking types ie special/physical

I play quite offensively so this usually means being able to hit everything super effectively, answers to most cheese strategies,

So for singles
>hazard control
>taunt user with u turn or volt switch
>couple of offensive cores

For doubles
>support mon with speed control and often taunt
>something really fast
>bunch of bulky streamrollers
>maybe a weather setter if that work with my team

>hero drought so bad that boys in class are talking about rugrats and winnie the pooh
>read in nintendo power that a show and game about monsters is debuting
>eagerly watch in excitement as there is a show about warrior monsters who fight one another
>I enjoy the series but I get disappointed time after time (game is dated even for back then, show is about bullshit trainners instead of saving the world, etc.)
>also I really disliked the fact that they only said their names

I think the movie was the kicker
>instead of monster battle mayhem, we got out bitched out protagonist screaming "stop it mewtwo"
> faggot hansen music
>and a bullshit message
Tbh the clones should have been mauled by the originals

>i thoroughly enjoyed gold though
>the anime was the same stale shit though
>Digimon was honestly want I wanted in an anime more so with life or death scenarios and monsters that could actually talk

I think I ultimately lost interest around r/se
>started playing jrpgs in between gens
>everyone of these games seemed to be of higher quality
>started watching subbed anime and completely stopped watching anime on tv
>When I saw r/s/e on gamespot way back when, I was actually disappointed in how it looked an skip it entirely
>took a look at colosseum, I ultimately knew I was done.

I tried to get back in around D/P
>Heard there were new battle mechanics and tactics
>Watched the anime subbed and though it was passable
>tried D/P, it was alright but it just paled in comparison to the other games out at the time
>Takuto shit pissed me off

I didn't play gen 3 though. I stopped and never looked back, right up until I was coming off of heroin a few years ago, at which point I started white, then white 2, then fire red, then emerald, then platinum. Now I'm only really interested in romhacks that increase the difficulty a little bit. I'm playing fire red omega right now, which has harder battles, gengar/machamp/alakazam etc can evolve without trades, and the starters are smoochum, magby, and elekid (and they got +10 stat boosts to all forms).

emuparadise is the best one. if you wanna play gen 2 go for the emulator edition of crystal. it gives pokemon who evolve via trading simple stone and level up evolutions, and pokemon you couldn't get in crystal are there now, but are rare encounters. idk if there's such a hack for emerald or frlg though.

Use Troll and Toad. I've been getting occasional single copies on it, and the cost isn't THAT bad if you figure in the idea that you would have to buy a LOT of booster packs to get any one specific card.

What's up my dudes, i just started playing moon for the first time, been playing since pokemon yellow so this is a pretty cool thing for me that I've been putting off.

However I wanted a certain party in mind but the pokemon are transfer only, so i'm basically here to beg for them is any of you have them, while also starting a trade general.

I'm looking for a Duskull and/or lotad. the evolutions work but the lower level the better! my friend code is 1435-8895-7646

Caught a shiny Whimsicott, and would like to use it, but the nature isn't ideal (Lonely). If I invested 252 EVs in Defense, would it be worthwhile? Is there any way to use EVs to help negate a nature?

What ability does it have?

I have used whimsicott to great success but essentially it lived by grace of focus sash or resistances. In doubles with 4 of the following: taunt, fake out, protect, tail wind, beat up (terrakion as partner).

Though I know someone who ran a bulky leech seed.

Anyway the point is that the best build is the best build, that build will have one or two optimal natures and maybe 2 or 3 other okay ones.

At the end of the day what you can do with non optimal pokemon pretty binary, either you end up with a version of the same build that isn't quite as capable of doing the things it should, but it's good enough to handle the things you need it to, or it's not good enough. Your team is weaker either way but in the end we can't give you a good answer until we know what you want to do with it.

Just roll with it dude, you don't need to use it competitively. Shinies are so rare, I EV train them even with shitty natures. Got a jolly Regice and brave Crobat.

So I want to start getting into pokemon romhacks. I fond this
http://pokemonromhack.com/tag/final-release
Which are completed games. I don't know where to start. And all the fan reviews are so drastically skewed its not even helpful. I've messed around with a couple, what are some romhacks worth really diving into?

I'm okay with difficulty. I'm just trying to figure out which ones are the most fun I can have with this. I don't care if they happen to be amateurish I'm just looking at this from a perspective of sheer dumb fun here.

The original hack was Pokemon brown. It was a hack of pokemon red/blue but included pokemon from other generations. I haven't played that one yet, i'm too used to fire-red graphics by now.
Instead I've been playing Rijon Adventures which is a remake of Brown but a hack of Fire-red. It's pretty entertaining so far, im about half way. Challenging and original. Includes gen1-3 pokemon so far. Apparently it includes Johto and another fan fiction region for the post-game.

installation takes a little while but just keep em both charged and it's easy. the main issue here is if you find the 3ds itself uncomfortable, and whether you get the regular or the xl. there's a lot of grips to choose from that make it much more ergonomic. the best one is the hori monster hunter cross hunting gear but it looks like that's never gonna go back down to 20 bucks, so you would be better off with the cybergadget or dreamgear grips.
