It's slightly disheartening seeing /po/ so slow after a main series release, granted most of us are either playing or still waiting for release, so let's take a /po/ poll.

Eh. Mewtwo is the only one I can think of... but those Ultra Beasts have some sick designs. Nihilego has this awesome love craft thing going for it.

>When did you first discover pokemon?
When 2 of my friends bought red and remembered I owned a gameboy.
>What were your first games?
Blue
>What is your favorite game?
Whatever I'm playing at the time.
>What kind of trainer are you?
Breeder/perfectionist.
>What's your favorite battle format?
Doubles, battle splot ban list.
>What's your favorite type?
Fire
>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
I build a hardcore team then don't use it enough. Though I'm looser with it when battling friends in person. Last time I let loose on some guys I knew IRL pride was dented.
>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
721/721 and 151/151 also I'm undefeated in my town. lol. True though
>What does your game collection look like?
A big pile of boxes.
>What is your thought process when making a team?
Competitive: Pick a core that looks fun, maybe pick 2 cores. Build team around that.
Single player: What cool monsters are around in this game that I've not done a playthrough with yet?
>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
BROCKBIDE08, Lance, me, I'm not sure if Rocket for the classic flavour or maybe Skull because their dialogue and style doesn't jar with the way the battles play out. Magma for example would get a beatdown from a 10 year old, push past his fire breathing lizard and then act like badasses and I hate that sort of shit. Like why did I beat them? Why are they still posturing? Skull actually connect with the battles. Lastly BELLEND Oak/Blue.
>What's your favorite region?
See favourite game.
>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?
Catching all new monsters in each area, leveling new team members otherwise just strolling through taking in the sights.
>In no particular order who are your favorite five pokemon?
Venusaur my first pokemon, volcarona, slowbro, azumarill and
>In no particular order who are your favorite five legends?
Heatran because he's usable and awesome. Mewtwo because he's boss. Latios because I rode that thing everywhere for the last 18 month. Whoosh. Giratina because it's pokesatan and celebi because.

Catch 'em all casual

>What's your favorite battle format?

>When did you first discover pokemon?
Back in elementary school. Less friends were going to the park after school, opting instead to watch Pokemon. Decided to finally catch it after being the only one at the park one day. First episode I ever watched was DA DUNDAH BADGE episode and it all snowballed from there.

>What were your first games?
Blue

>What is your favorite game?
Soul Silver. Perfect mix of content and warm nostalgia.

>What kind of trainer are you?
I play through the game normally and then I hack mons to battle with online because I just can't be fucked to spend countless hours breeding.

>What's your favorite battle format?
Singles. Love playing Monotype specifically.

>What's your favorite type?
Normal

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
Pretty casual. Haven't played anything real competitive since like gen 4

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I don't really have any accomplishments I can really call "great" that relates to Pokemon.
Though since I'm here, I may as well mention that I did win a tourney on this board some years back to win a Porygon 2 with Aura Sphere and I was a Gym Leader for a while when we did that sort of thing.

>What does your game collection look like?
Main: Blue, Yellow, Silver, Sapphire, Emerald, Pearl, Platinum, White, White 2, Y, Alpha Sapphire, Moon
Side/Spinoffs: Snap, Stadium 1, Stadium 2, Conquest

>What is your thought process when making a team?
A: Wow I really want to use this pokemon, I wonder how I can build around it.
Or
B: Let me try and make something out of this gimmick that just popped into my head.

Gym Leader: Giovanni
E4 member: Olivia
Evil Team: Neo Plasma
Recurring Character: ???

>When did you first discover pokemon?
Most likely Christmas '98. I was like 9 so I can't remember the Exact details, but yeah, the beginning.

>What were your first games?
Red

>What is your favorite game?
I'm tempted to say S/M, but I really liked X/Y.

>What kind of trainer are you?
A super fucking casual. I have an understanding of competitive stuff and ivs/evs, but at the end of the day my pokemon are my buddies and I had my adventures with them, so I love them with all their imperfections.

>What's your favorite battle format?
Triples.

>What's your favorite type?
Probably water, though throughout S/M I found too many grass/bug types I really loved.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
Casual, I could probably put together a halfway passable competitive team, but I can't be arsed to find the time to breed for natures and IVs and egg moves or grind out BP for special items.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Recently chained my first shiny, I had gotten a couple in the past, but only by chance. Now I have a shiny Fomantis with a -atk nature. Kill me.

>What does your game collection look like?
R/Y, G/S/C, R/S, D, SS, W/B2, Y, OR, S

>What is your thought process when making a team?
Do I like this pokemon, are its base stats at least passable, will it throw the balance of my team off the rails?

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
Gym Leader: Wattson, he's so full of life, optimism, and just in it for the thrill.
E4: Drasna, she's real laid back and takes things as they come, plus she has 2 of my favorite dagons, Noivern and Druddigon.
Champ: Alder, he seems more contemplative and worldly than most others, plus I really like his design, with his huge hair and pokeball neck dangles.
Team: Flare, people really like to shit on Flare, but honestly they're really one of the few teams I actually felt a drive to stop. They literally had a WMD ready to fire. Also swag ass suits.
Recurring Character: Lance, one of the recent Generations episodes sealed it. The man's basically a one man SWAT team, and his dopey looking dragonite is a fucking monster.

>What's your favorite region?
Hoenn, people like to shit on it because too much water, but I like all the other different biomes it presents.

>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?
Postgame stuff and shiny hunting in Sun

>In no particular order who are your favorite five pokemon?
Nidoqueen, Noivern, Mimikyu, Quagsire, Golurk

>When did you first discover pokemon?
I got a big Pikachu pillow and some cards. The year the games came out in America.

>What were your first games?
Stadium and Snap.

>What is your favorite game?
main series: Alpha Saphire and Platinun tie for the top.
Spinoff: Snap.

>What kind of trainer are you?
scientist? I like to make dumb teams like three entry hazard teams 6 volt switch/U-turn teams or trick room with weather.

>What's your favorite battle format?
Rotation and double.

>What's your favorite type?
Bug, steel, fire, electric, and ground depending on my moond.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
Probably core. I like to use my favorites but will drop them if it's too much trouble. I rarely use things I think are ugly or unfun but I try to win.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Caught a shiny Magikarp in the Lake Of Rage, had a raised a larvesta to 100 in White. Beat the White E4 with only a haxorus.

>What does your game collection look like?
Red, Crystal, yellow, Stadium, Snap, White 1, Y, Alpha Saphire, Go (it counts), and Sun. I also have a R4ds with Pearl, Platinum, Heartgold, and SoulSilver.

>What is your thought process when making a team?
I try to find 2 low tier pokemon that I can fit into a more meta team. My favorite is Kecleon with Assault vest. It can fit into team and go atleast 1 for 1 if set up.

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
Leader: Jasmine
E4: Lorelai and Bertha
Champion: Stephen Stone
Evil Team:Skull if their ending is cool. If not then Rocket.

I felt team skull were a damp squib, but that was their whole thing. Not to say they just fade out, but that I never expected anything particularly badass from them. I do like their actual backstory though.

Also I want to register my appreciation for the reluctant Kahuna and burnout Nanu.

>When did you first discover pokemon?

I watched the first season of the anime in the US.

>What were your first games?

Blue, Yellow, Silver, White

>What is your favorite game?

I haven't played XY, ORAS, or Sun/Moon, but my favorite is probably Gen 1 or 4.

>What kind of trainer are you?

I'm a bird keeper at heart, but I also fancy myself a bit of a Pokeranger.

>What's your favorite type?

Flying is #1. Ground is #2

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?

I like to use everything from sweepers, to walls and stalls, to annoyers. I only play casually though, so I tend to use weaker pokemon to try and level the playing field a bit. I use sweepers normally, because everything else is boring when you play through the game with it. By the time I reach the Elite 4, I tend to try slower strategies since it isn't monotonous then.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?

I beat the Elite 4 (in White) with Howard, my brave Farfetch'd (Level 59). He set up Belly Drum and swept the entire league. I also named my Exeggutor Coco López, with the accent and everything. That's probably my number 1 accomplishment.

>What does your game collection look like?

I have none of my old games, but I emulate everything up to Gen 5 on my computer, and everything up to Gen 3 on my phone.

>What is your thought process when making a team?

I only use my favorites, which probably is a list of 20-30 mons. I like to use complementary strategies, like baton passing into a sweeper, or running aromatherapy/heal bell on a team that can't handle status effects well.

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?

Gym Leader: Brock, Clay
Elite Four Member: Karen "Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites..."
Champion: Alder "Blaze it faggot 420"
Evil Team: Team Rocket JK PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Recurring Character: Giovanni, Cynthia, Red/Blue

>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?

Just started Emerald on my phone and Black on my computer.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five pokemon?

1.Farfetch'd, 2.Nidoking, 3.Delibird, 4.Honchkrow

>In no particular order who are your favorite five legends?
I don't like legends very much. Zapdos and Ho-oh are powerful birds, so there's that, but Mewtwo is the only one I ever use, and that's mostly just in SSB Melee.

Back in 1998, when my parents handed me a GBC and Red.
>What were your first games?
Red
>What is your favorite game?
RSE
>What kind of trainer are you?
Casual. I like to immerse myself into the game and show a lot of care for my teams. As far as class goes, I'd probably be a Swimmer or a Pokemaniac.
>What's your favorite battle format?
Doubles are always fun.
>What's your favorite type?
Water
>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
I'm a bit more casual than others. I'm more interested in trivia about the games and anime than I am about IVs, Shinys, and all that. Battle-wise, I'm a lot more offense-based in my style. I'll try to end it then and there in battle, but I'll use stat-changers and other moves to help make victory easier.
>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Beating Omega Ruby without losing up until my first battle with Rayquaza, beating Gold (including the final battle with Red) back in elementary/junior high, beating Y with every Kalos and Kanto starter three different times, catching Solgaleo on my first try with a Quick Ball.
>What does your game collection look like?

Digital: Y, Blue, Pinball R&S

Will eventually own: one of the B2W2 games, as those are the only paired games I haven't played yet

I feel like no one will read this, but why not.

>When did you first discover pokemon?
Grade school, when it first came out. I was introduced to the cartoon before the gtame though. I was like.,..8 or 9.

>What were your first games?
Yellow was first, and then blue. And Snap.

>What is your favorite game?
HeartGold/SoulSilver. There isn't even a competition in my head.

>What kind of trainer are you?
I tend to choose a team each run and use only them, sometimes not catching much else at all.

>What's your favorite battle format?
good ol fashioned 1 v 1, but i've had some fun with doubles teams.

>What's your favorite type?
Hmm... I suppose either Ghost or Water. Couldn't tell you why for either.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
I used to play hardcore, but I don't anymore. More casual now. Sometimes i'll make teams of good mons for the battle mansion/tower/tree/whatever.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Um... I am told I am the very first ever Champion of Alola? Oh and I beat RIVALGARY in a battle once.

>What does your game collection look like?
I have every main series game started at Diamond and Pearl. Anything from before that has been lost to time. No clue.

>What is your thought process when making a team?
Type coverage usually, making sure I don't have a weakness that I don't have a general weakness to a certain type.

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
Gym Leader: Morty
Elite Four... I dunno, I barely bother to remember them
Champion I like Lance and Cynthia
Evil Team.. Plasma, because of the peta references.

>What's your favorite region?
Johto, but I like Alola quite a bit.

>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?
Muthafuckin Ultrabeasts.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five pokemon?
Butterfree, Marowak, Beartic, Mismagius, Feraligatr.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five legends?
Mew, Giratina, Xurkitree, Articuno, Regigigas.

4.) Does the Pokemon have High speed or special attack?

>When did you first discover pokemon?
I was 6 and the cartoon was what first caught my eye. Saturday on KidsWB. I loved it but it was just another one of my cartoons until...
>What were your first games
The first one was Pokemon Stadium. Only like the second or third game I had for the N64 I got for my birthday, pokemon became an obsession easily.
Yellow was the first real game I played, followed by Crystal then Sapphire.
Also Snap and Stadium 2 followed a few years later.
>What is your favorite game?
HeartGold/SoulSilver no question about it. Omega Ruby was okay but everything in HG/SS just clicked perfectly.
>What kind of trainer are you?
Never been competitive really. Truth be told--most of my friends could easily tear me apart in every evenly matched pokemon battle and they usually were pretty mean about it so I quickly learned to only trade pokemon with people and leave battling for the nerds. I only casually play Sun/Moon right now and already people are irritated with me for how long its taken me to finish the main story.
>What's your favorite battle format?
N/A
>What's your favorite type?
Fire. All my favorite pokemon are Fire it seems.
>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?

>When did you first discover pokemon?
1998. Toys R Us.

>What were your first games?
Blue.

>What is your favorite game?
Gold/Silver. The amount of content is insane compared to later games and it's almost all centered around exploring the game world, rather than grinding.

>What kind of trainer are you?
Old.

>What's your favorite battle format?
What?

>What's your favorite type?
Ghost conceptually, probably Water practically.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
Casul.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I completed the Pokedex in Blue without getting any badges by exploiting a bunch of glitches, recorded it all in an emulator and edited into an hour-long video set to chiptune/electronica from some cool Swedish guy. It's pretty meaningless now because arbitrary code execution has been discovered, but it was fun to route and I'm proud of it. It's on youtube.
I also made a map of all the pokemon you can get with the trainer/fly glitch that wound up getting way more circulation than I ever expected and strangers have contacted me out of the blue to thank me for it so that's pretty cool.
I built a proof-of-concept team in Gen IV built around the Acid Rain glitch that could force a stalemate competitively. I'm really proud of that. I can give a rundown if anybody cares, but I won't unless anybody cares.

>What does your game collection look like?
Like two hundred games I've never played juxtaposed against like ten games with 1000+ hours logged (Halo 2, Halo 3, Morrowind, Skyrim, modded L4D2 servers, Minecraft, old Pokemon, Far Cry Instincts...). There's a sweet spot where a game is broken enough to afford the player unintended avenues but polished enough that those avenues are fun, and that sweet spot is where I like to spend my time.

>What is your thought process when making a team?
Mostly gimmicks to make things challenging.

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
Blue, Blue, Blue, Aqua, Blue.
Nah. I like Whitney because she stonewalled so many people on casul playthroughs, even though the trick to beating her is the same as the trick to winning the first battles after you get your starters. Don't forget your fundamentals. Jasmine seems pretty chill as a fictional human being.
Bruno seems like he takes his role seriously, whereas pretty much everybody else seems to want to be doing something different. Bruno knows he's OpFor, understands why, and commits to it, and that's cool.
Idk Lance I guess, none of them are that memorable.
Legitimately Team Aqua. Their whole retconned environmental martyrdom deal is simultaneously hilarious and awesome because it's what actual environmentalists would be trying to achieve if they actually cared about the preservation of the planet rather than the preservation of the species. Plus I think of them when I hear Go Into The Water and Awaken from Dethklok and that's dope.
All of the characters that recur in Gen II from Gen I. Seeing how they've changed over time adds a lot of depth to the game world.

>What's your favorite region?
Kanto, same reason as above.

>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?
Jack nothing, I quit playing after Heart Gold.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five pokemon?
Unironically Missingno. It facilitated the early metagame. Before item duping, battling was about who was willing to grind the most. Missingno leveled the playing field on that front and that gave way to actual gameplay and strategy.
That aside, Smeargle is a really cool idea. I think those are the only ones I super care about.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five legends?
Mewtwo is the only one with a genuinely good story imo. Everything else seems to be an avatar of stasis, whereas Mewtwo is actually agent. Most everything else embodies the timeless abstracts that exist to do as they've always done, to maintain the cosmic balance or whatever; animating those abstracts is a cool way to think about how they function and relate to each other, but it doesn't make for interesting characters. Mewtwo is the only one I know of with a real motive and arc.

Play fairly casual, not too concerned with playing OU mons. Still, I keep up with what works in the metagame as it develops, I watch the VGC tournaments and watch videos from some former champions.
My battle style is to have a mix bag of Pokemon. Some slow tanks and generally unexpected choices. My motto is to make them expect a smart play and catch them off guard with a stupid play.

>When did you first discover pokemon?
When it first came out, kids at my afterschool started bringing cards in

>What were your first games?
First one was Red version, but I convinced my parents to get me yellow too even though it wasn't too long after R/B came out

>What is your favorite game?
Platinum came out just as I was getting my friends back into it. I have the fondest memories associated with all of getting together to trade and cook poffins

>What kind of trainer are you?
I'd consider myself something like a pokemon ranger. I enjoy doing playthroughs, and I like the differences between each game, even between older versions and remakes. I guess I enjoy the overall journey too much to focus on particular aspects.

>What's your favorite battle format?
I don't really have one, when I battle friends I usually ask if it's ok to start with a double and then finish with a single

>What's your favorite type?
it's hard to say. but probably Poison type.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
I'm probably middle of the board here, I like the mechanics and technical details but I also feel like taking M-Rayquaza into battles is fucking lame and how people with no strategic skills play the game. I like to mix it up and see how to make each species useful in a team, so playing based on stat numbers bores me pretty quick. idk

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I completed a Nuzlocke of yellow version with minimal casualties, my Clefable "DOOMANGEL" beat the entire E4 almost singlehandedly

>What does your game collection look like?
I usually just play ROMs of older games, so it's mostly DS carts now

>What is your thought process when making a team?
  1. Who pairs with who? I.E., if I decide to put a Parasect on my team, I would partner it with a rock type. Rock is good against fire and flying, and parasect's typing gives it an advantage against fighting, water, and grass.
  2. What is their stat build like? I generally like to have two physical attackers, two special attackers, and a mixed attacker- I also try to have two that are defensively bulky, and two that have high speed stats (preferrably to have a scout/tank for each attack type)
>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
Gym Leader : Roxie
E4: Nn, Phoebe or Drasna
Champion: Cynthia
Evil Team: Team Galactic (honorable mention to Team Skull)
Recurring Character: Bianca (particularly in BW2)
>What's your favorite region?
Sinnoh has a special place in my heart, but I also have a thing for Unova

>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?
Well I was about to beat Moon but the batt on my 3ds fried so I'm waiting to get a new one
Going thru Chargestone Cave in Black2
Going through victory road on Crystal
& I took a break from hunting Jigglypuffs on Yellow to catch mew (caught an Abra and did the tele trick)

>In no particular order who are your favorite five pokemon?
*Nidoran*, Hydreigon, Sableye, Eelektross, Weavile

>In no particular order who are your favorite five legends?
I don't really like legendary pokemon that much because raising them is boring.
but I guess I'd pick Articuno, Raiku, Deoxys, Giratina, and... uh, Zygarde, before they turned him into something from Evangelion

>When did you first discover pokemon?

When I was young, about 6 or 7, with my cousin letting me play the first Stadium.

>What were your first games?

Stadium technically. Emerald was the first game I bought and played for the main series.

>What is your favorite game?

Black. Emerald is a close second. For a ROMhack game it's definitely Pokemon Gaia.

>What kind of trainer are you?

A collector definitely.

>What's your favorite battle format?

Rotation.

>What's your favorite type?

Ice, with Electric and Fire in second and third respectively.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?

Core. I understand the mechanics and everything, and I have a couple competitive mons, but that's it.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?

I completed the Unity Tower and National Dex of Pokemon Black.

>What does your game collection look like?

Depends on the game. I rarely transfer mons from my games so they're in the order that I catch them, save for boxes dedicated to traded mons, Legendaries, and my team.

>What is your thought process when making a team?

No type over lap, New mons only unless it's a remake, and use the ones I like using those two rules. That's about it really. I tend to definitely go for Special attackers and sweepers, but thanks to Alola and its slow mons and replaying X with a different team of mons, I've grown to appreciate the slower, tankier types. But I won't use a mon with 50 or below speed unless it has the defensive/offensive stats to back it up, like Mudsdale.

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?

Gym leader spot goes to Drayden. E4 goes to Drake from Hoenn, Champion goes to Steven. Evil team probably goes to Team Magma, the OR version of them. Team Skull is neat too. And I don't really have a favorite recurring character.

>What's your favorite region?

Hoenn definitely, with Unova in second.

>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?

Training mons up really. I've beaten all my games and don't really like restarting them.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five pokemon?

Swellow, Liepard, Samurott, Aurorus, Noivern. To be honest I couldn't choose save for the top two spots, which would be Liepard and Swellow respectively.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five legends?

Deoxys, Darkrai, Reshiram, Tapu Fini, Kartana

>When did you first discover pokemon?
One day there wasn't Pokemon, the next day there was. So my answer is the same time when all every other kids that was born in the early 90's did.

>What were your first games?
Pokémon Red. Also the reason why I wanted a Gameboy (the big gray/grey one btw)

>What is your favorite game?
Soul Silver. It also holds the title of being my "last Pokémon game". That title lasted until I went to College, with Black/White coming out and being a hit for 90's college students. Now we're on Gen 7 and am still getting Pokémon games. lol.

>What kind of trainer are you?
The winning kind....ya, I don't know how to correctly answer that.

>What's your favorite battle format?
Am always down for singles. But I do enjoy triple.

>What's your favorite type?
Steel. Best type to have for a dual type Pokémon....or at least to make it look cool.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
Casual. Don't know how to EV train (no time for that) and I don't know how to play Rom hacks.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Soul Silver: Completing Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokedex. Didn't even cheat (event Pokémon like Mew, isn't cheating)

>What does your game collection look like?
RBY-GSC-RS-FR-DDP-SS-B-X-M

>What is your thought process when making a team?
New gen/first run: Water starter and only new mons. Have a balance type team that somehow always ending up with one type shared weakness. Mostly Pokémon that I like for their designs or typing. No Legends.

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
Blaine. - The OG that am going to be like when am old. Gen4 he was a pimp.
Drake. - The badass that looked like a villain.
Blue. - Not only the best rival, but also the best champion.
Team Rocket.- The only team in Pokémon, that people would join in the real world that wouldn't be bat-crazy.
Looker- I remember him being there...

>What's your favorite region?

>When did you first discover pokemon?
1997. I was absorbed into the original pokemon craze as a kid with Red version. It was the first video game I had ever completed by myself. I was completely obsessed with Pokemon ever since.

>What were your first games?
I was given Red version first then I got my hands on Blue and eventually Yellow.

>What is your favorite game?
My favorite game in the series is Emerald. Emerald was the game that opened my eyes to real competitive battling and breeding. Emerald was the game that taught me how to beat all of my friends at pokemon. Most of my favorite pokemon come from generation 3 as well. Everything about Emerald was amazing, it had the perfect curve for teaching new players how to play pokemon, and with the frontier at the end, it shined at challenging players to learn competitive battling in order to complete it.

>What kind of trainer are you?
Breeder. I love breeding competitive quality pokemon. It's an activity that I can do that doesn't require a lot of thinking, good time waster. Plus I enjoy putting in the effort and time to breed good natured perfect competitive pokemon. Building teams for my friends and myself, it's just really fun to me. I do like competitive battling, but breeding pokemon is more relaxing.

>What's your favorite battle format?
I really enjoy the UU format. Pokemon that are just in the middle competitively tend to be more entertaining and creative battles in my opinion. Some of my favorite teams I've built were for competing in UU format.

>What's your favorite type?
Water. Water type has never done me wrong and most of my favorite pokemon are water type including my number one favorite pokemon. Water type is just a powerful and diverse type with a large number of different species of pokemon that have different play styles and specialties.

>Do you play casual, core, or hardcore and what's your battle style?
I like playing competitively online every once in a while, but I'm mostly a casual player. My competitive side really comes out when I'm battling against friends, but mostly I just like to play on my own.

>What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Caught all 151 pokemon in Red. I used the old man glitch to trigger the menu teleport bug to capture Mew.

First Shiny pokemon I ever caught was a shiny Rhyhorn in Silver, I didn't know that shiny pokemon were a normal thing that was newly introduced in generation 2, and although I thought it was a bug in the game, I still caught it and it followed me through playing all of Silver.

Beating all of the Battle Frontier was such a major pokemon accomplishment to me when I was younger. I felt like I could beat anybody at pokemon at that time. This also is what encouraged me to constantly battle online when generation 4 game out.

I became obsessed with understanding how breeding in pokemon works in generation 4. Learning how breeding competitive pokemon was done helped me build my first ever perfect IV/EV team, and it was the first team I ever built that won me lots of battles online.

>What does your game collection look like?
My pokemon Game collection is actually pretty pathetic now. Most of my games have been stolen or lost over the years.I used to own every single game made except for Heart Gold, Black2/White2, X/Y, Alpha Saphire, and Sun. Now the only games I own are Omega Ruby and Moon.

>What is your thought process when making a team?
Generally most of my teams are built around 1-3 pokemon that either battle in a unique fashion or have great synergy with the other pokemon on the team. The rest of the team is designed to protect those 1-3 pokemon and cover weaknesses or common threats.
That's how I start every team I build.

>Who's your favorite gym leader, elite four member, champion, evil team, and recurring character?
I always really liked Flannery as a gym leader. I really liked her energetic and bubbly attitude.

Caitlin was my favorite Elite Four member. I really liked her all psychic team and I thought her character was interesting as being a multi-millionaire who lived in a castle and slept all day.

My favorite Champion is Red. Red in my opinion is the best and most bad ass pokemon trainer to exist in the ongoing series. In the lore of the pokemon games, he has the highest level pokemon in all of the games (except for one of them, can't remember which one though), and he's just such a quiet and mysterious character.

I like Team Rocket a lot. I mean I know they're not exactly the smartest or even sensible evil team in the series, but I always liked how they were just clearly thugs causing all sorts of trouble. I liked them the most in Gold and Silver.

As for Recurring character, although she hasn't really begun her role as a recurring character, she's obviously designed as a character to return in the future, Zinnia is my favorite for this category. She's just so strong and wild and her team of all dragons suits her personality really well.

>What's your favorite region?
Hoenn is my favorite region. Out of all the regions, it feels the most tropical and beautiful.

>What are you currently doing in your respective playthroughs?
I beat most of Moon quite some time ago, but there's still some things to do in the game that I haven't really done. I've been taking a pretty long break from the game. Sometimes I'll do a little bit of breeding, but other than that I haven't done much with the game in a while.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five(six) pokemon?
I'm going to do my top 6 favorite pokemon because I have these six pokemon built into a team together and they have amazing synergy while battling. They're my favorite pokemon throughout the series as well as the best team I've ever built.

  1. Gorebyss. My absolute favorite pokemon.
  2. Ninjask. The best Ninja pokemon. (Suck it Greninja)
  3. Breloom. One of my favorite threats.
  4. Chimecho. My sneakiest pokemon.
  5. Umbreon. The pokemon that never dies.
  6. Steelix. The Juggernaut.

>In no particular order who are your favorite five legends?
  1. Mew
2.Celebi
3. Meloetta
4. Jirachi
5. Suicune

Soul Silver is a great game, but fuck them for putting that their aggressive DRM in it.

>>What kind of trainer are you
>The winning kind....ya, I don't know how to correctly answer that.
Maybe read some of the replies. Good job beating a kid's game. That really defines your playstyle.

>I don't know how to play Rom hacks.
This is like saying
>I don't know how to play PC games

Let me make up for my being such a douche bag by sharing the wisdom of using a computer.

  1. emuparadise website
  2. download an emulator (Visual Boy Advance for gen 3 and Desmume for gen 4 and 5)
  3. download the rom (or the romhack, which is just a modded rom)
  4. open emulator, load game

why did I think that was a close up picture of the arms on the chest of a mantis shrimp?

You know the ones that bend the weird way and helped evolve raptorial appendages from them?
