This game is incredible; it's everything I've wanted in a Pokemon game, and the weirdest thing is it's clearly not licensed by Nintendo. It's really amazing this game exists.

First of all, the difficulty is notable. I had a level 24 Ivysaur and I kept getting BTFO by a level 14 Zubat in Mt. Moon purely due to type effectiveness. You can't just brute force your way through battles.

Second of all, the game is massive: it's got Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. For years--since Pokemon Gold probably--I've wanted an online and interconnected game involving multiple regions. Yet here it is.

Third, its massively multiplayer online. There's two servers (silver and gold), a chat system, an in-game economy, guilds, and PVP. This is, to my knowledge, the best online Pokemon game around. Again, it's incredible this is unlicensed and exists.

Lastly, the game itself has unique features not found in the official series. Pic related; it's the Vermilion City graveyard. Since Pokemon yellow I've craved spooky shit in these games, and Nintendo just wont deliver because they think its a kids game, and children will kill themselves if they see ghosts or something. I love this

It adds a degree of difficulty that may or may not be enjoyable. I found it refreshing after the visual novel level of difficulty that was SWSD
