Tripping on cactus
I found this shop that sells a variety of cactus es, I'm not sure how much I need since it's sold in cm not grams.
Is it even worth it to trip on these things.

Haven't tried either, but apparently it's easily on par with shrooms and LSD.

Maybe you can try getting cactus cuttings, and will have some decently cactii in one or two years. Much faster than growing from seed.

I used San Pedro which I think is a little less potent, but much easier to work with. Hate those peruvian spines. So what drives people away more than the taste is the prep imo. You can do it the old fashioned (primitive) way which is cut into pieces, boil them on low heat overnight, strain (seen a YouTube video with Peruvians doing this I think). What I did was despine (what a pain) with tweezers then cut along the ribs down to the center, creating rhombus shaped wedges. Then I scraped off some of the excess white flesh and boiled the strips in DISTILLED water with some lime juice, strained the mix thru a poly-cotton shirt, did a couple of reboils and reduced the final mix. Used about 1m cactus in total and tripped balzac but I also had the friendly marijuano so I felt like it could have been a little less insane. But absolutely entheogenic and worth it.
Did another prep lately with slightly less material, not despining but cutting into the 'star' shaped pieces about an inch thick so that I could take off the waxy skin (wasnt a problem for me before but people talk about it), and then cut out the inner core so I was left with basically the green flesh. Used the same boiling method. Cuttings grow fast and are prolific, I've held onto mind for a few years and have more than I know what to do with.

the ones I've seen were like 15cm long, so should just get a few of those and grow them. Any idea how long it takes to reach a meter height?

That's just about as small as they can be. Once your cutting(s) get rooted, in a good climate they can grow almost a meter per year. Check out the 'sacred cactus' website for info.

Nobody cares about it and the mescaline extraction process is complex
Cactus tea is doable but revolting and vomit inducing

It's highly illegal to grow them for cultivation. So you either gotta grow them outside, hope your weather and climate cooperate, and hope to god nobody notices stalks disappearing occasionally OR you grow them in a greenhouse/indoors and have no possible way to explain why your decorative plants are hidden away from view.
