I thought I'd bring this to the psychedelic board.
A whispering wood once told me that the third eye
is opiates, not psychedelics

Consider for a second that all you need
to open the third eye is conceptual satisfaction,
A full pipe, and a glass of wine(metaphorically speaking)

I find that those are the things that close the third eye, being complacent with existence can lead to blissfull ignorance, but acceptance of the truth of what we live in can be enlightening, so it coughs go either way

Which part of metaphorically speaking didn't you understand? Third eye is just a vehicle for conceptual fulfillment dude.

I have literally never heard it explained in any way that made remote sense until now.
Thanks.

Are you so sure they provide conceptual satisfaction, rather than satiation satisfaction? I’m curious what you think provides you with a conceptual understanding from opiates. Satisfaction in general seems to be an itch that does not go away by scratching it, or if it does temporarily, the scratch increases in intensity shortly afterwards, leading to a rabbit hole effect.

I didn’t take the metaphor literally, I’m asking why/how he’s equating conceptual satisfaction with the satisfaction that opiates provide, or the opiate experience in general, that he described with a metaphor.

Metaphors are not that uncommon, and he specifically said it was a metaphor, there’s no need to point to it over and over as if it wasn’t clear before the poster himself pointed it out.
