That's because black only works with black colors or darker tones.

Black with darker brown pants works for example. Black pants only work for funerals, suits/tux, artsyfags/music types and emos/mathgoths. Don't wear black pants unless needed.

There's your problem mate. Outside of special occasions the only people who can pull off black pants/jeans are guys who play guitar at bars and shit. Most everyone else looks really stupid. I hope to god they aren't slimfit or skinny.

Consider burning your closet if they are black skinny jeans.

No, they aren't black skinny jeans. They're just black pants like goddamn

are you high?
you say black pants dont suit anything, then decided that black and dark brown go together as well, my god you are twisted

Black pants work sometimes. Or not. I decide as I please and condemn all those who don't evolve with my rapidly changing tastes. To be the front edge of fashion, you must first not know what does or doesn't look good. But in the moment only.

I pretty much exclusively wear black (skinny) jeans. Feels good.

Whoever said that black only goes with dark colors has no clue what they're talking about. Dark wash jeans? Light wash shirt. Light wash jeans? Dark wash shirt. This is like, fashion 101. Shoes should match the shirt. Accessories (hat, backpack, wristbands, etc.) should match the pants. This is the tried and true method. Deviate from it once you have a basic understanding of what looks good. Example: "Oh, my light gray shirt features a mostly red design, I could get away with wearing my red beanie." or "my shirt and pants are too monochrome. I can wear my blue sneakers with my blue shades or my blue backpack." Just make sure the colors you're matching aren't too many shades apart or it'll look all wrong.

>1:1 color matching
Holy shit dude don't do that. That's the visual equivalent of rhyming "sky" and "high," basically braindead.

Pairing colors is all about managing contrast. The word "matching" is old hat and I want it to die because colors that look good together don't always match. In fact colors that match often don't look good together.

white, black, grey can go with any color
your shirt should be lightly colored if your jeans are dark and vice versa
