I've been on 420chan for a long time, and so i ask this with respect. Is there a better place that some of the more serious chemists here talk about things?

Not to hate on 420chan but I feel like there may be better places to discuss chemistry with people who are like minded. Perhaps IRC?

Just seem to be a fair few unrelated posts in /chem/, not that i mind that much. I just wanted a second place that is maybe slightly more active and more on topic while still retaining the friendly feel of 420chan.

Or maybe I don't mean more on topic, maybe i mean more topics to take part in discussing.

So /sci/ is off the charts? Too many angry people from tha futoor?

You could always start your own threads. That'll give this place some nice traffic. Or start discussion meme science so google results start popping up. Or as we mentioned >>78900 maybe not worth. Just find some science people to talk with IRL.

i wish /chem was more active but then again i mostly come here when im high and cant be arsed to be polite/sensitive/reasonable but still want to help other people out and get a nice task while i drool on the keyboard

you can give sciencemadness a try, but they tend to be very professional.
and eventhough drug synthesis is somewhat frowned upon you can even encounter old hive members

blacklight.me. It's even more dead than /chem/ but people still post from time to time. There's also sciencemadness as already mentioned if you're not specifically looking to talk drug chemistry.

Hey thanks for the suggestions, I mean pretty much so far my knowledge is very limited and although i'd like to contribute meaningful topics i'm afraid I wouldn't be able to do much apart from guesswork, asking for help or just coming up with ideas that are probably stupid.

It's a shame /chem/ has been dead for a while, I remember a long time ago when it seemed to be a nice little community but i didn't really come here that much way back then.

Anyway i'm probably going to be active on here a lot and maybe when i start getting to grips with chemistry at a higher level I can maybe do my part to improve this board.

On second thought maybe i'll just change courses to alchemy?

ime dmt nexus has the same problem that the shroomery has
a plethora of increbible amazing information that almost makes me cry stuck between halfwitted posts made by idiots that willfully ignore that theyre accessing the greatest invention mankind has come up with this far.

id really like /chem to have some more physics but while the current applications of physics in data transmitting are basically science fiction magic bullshit to me eventhough i work in the field, its less hands on than lets say cooking mescaline from vanilla aroma and rc car fuel

>its less hands on

I would love to see some hands on useful or interesting things to do at home with a little glassware. I'm not even that bothered about drug synthesis or drug discussion as long as the topic is interesting.

Anyways i'm probably down to browse through a few theoretical physics or chemistry threads if they were made.

Perhaps you should make another thread and tell me all about the interesting bits of your field of work.

so much for hammy's secret messageboard lol. i've heard of people moving over to darknets but I've never heard the name of a hidden service forum for drug chemistry...

Yeah, we had this discussion in the cough syrup thread. /chem/ has really gone downhill. But I'm a prior formulator and can actually talk chemistry if you want.

Haven't done anything extremely cutting edge in a while, but I can grasp new science pretty well.

Maybe I'll actually try if the rest of you try. Currently though I'm more interested in making money than doing chemistry. Gonna learn some programming to build on my manufacturing career. Don't know what happened to me but the magic behind science has almost left my life. I guess getting your shit kicked in will do that.

Make /chem/ great again.

i love them too. they specialise in foul smelling thiols which is even better for the memery

mesc synthesis when? just found out my friend's pharm lab has like 500g of pic related as a rubber and drug precursor. It's not regulated anywhere and he has free access to the 500g bottle all he wants. should i tell him to sell some on ebay?

Actually yeah that didn't cross my mind, don't loose your job over some 420chan posts.

Anyway i'm still working on making /chem/ a better place but you guys need to give me at least a few more years to catch up.

are you sure its unregulated and unwatched? that seems suspicious.
in germany we have multiple watch lists, some of which are "volunatrily" followed by suppliers.

id love me some, all youd need would be some hydrogen and Pd, but ill stick with postponing my "mescaline from baking aroma, antiseptic and rc fuel" pipedream for now

Yes. It's not specifically banned by anything I know of. He's been slowly taking a few mgs from it from work every every week and throwing it in a pile at his house. I can tell him to sell it on ebay or on his local craiglist, too. Probably among some other research chemicals used for plastics and vinyls as he does that for a hobby in his barren wasteland of a house in my barren wasteland of a town in the giant barren wasteland that is Canada.
