Why do energy drinks make me noticeably more stimulated then coffee does even though there's more caffeine in my coffee??? I like my coffee really strong btw so theoretically speaking I'm drinking twice as much caffeine when I drink a coffee then when I drink an energy drink and yet the energy drinks make me feel about 3 times as stimulated. Is there other stimulants in energy drinks I don't know about or is this some kind of weird super placebo effect?

It could be the B vitamins, they give you a kind of rush if you're deficient or so I've been told. Years ago people said the taurine in energy drinks potentiated the caffeine but I haven't heard that in a long time and it was never proven conclusively. There's also the inositol but they removed that from red bull fairly recently. The other stuff you have in monster and other brands like gingko biloba has also never really been proven conclusively to have a big effect.

I've looked into this cause I also experience what you're talking about

>some bullshit about acidity, selectively-permeable membranes, electronegativity, and molecular lattices.
>or maybe a placebo
>or maybe you don't make strong enough coffee

i don't know about your country, but in my country drinks are taxed for caffeine content, so energy drinks usually have only a little caffeine, and added things like guarana extract, theophyline, etc. also concentrated sugar can be very stimulating. idk if you drink sugary or zero-calory version, but sugar have effects very similar to a stimulant, iirc mouses in the lab showed similar reinforcing effects for sugar as the shown for cocaine.

Raising your blood sugar actually makes you more lethargic.
The reinforcing effects are because sugar powers every cell in our bodies and we require it to live.

that's not how things work.

sugar makes a lot of things to be released in your body. one is insulin that makes you lethargic but another is dopamine which is stimulating and motivating. it depends on a lot of things that which of theese or the other similar things overpower the rest, but haven't you ever met a child who have eaten too much candies and is so overstimulated that he/she can't even sit down and just runs around the house in circles? it can happen to adults too.

The reinforcing effects have nothing to do with the bilogical needs of the cells. All cells also need vitamins, essential fatty acids, and minerals, but have you ever heard about somebody who is addicted to vitamins and minerals and overdose on them? Because i see a few people on the streets every day who are over 140kg morbidly obese but can't stop eating ice cream, fast food, chocolate, sugary drinks, etc.

250ml red bull only has 1g Taurine. You can get 375mg Taurine from 100g chicken

Coffee has other compounds from the coffee bean that aren't in energy drinks.

Nah man you got it backwards.
An XL or L coffee wil contain about 90mg of caffeine.
Energy drinks come loaded with a mix of additives added by people I assume are professional academics,
And perhaps they arm your system with a sudden surplus of molecules that support the function of caffeine. Who fucking knows.
Everyone pisses out their vitamin B daily.
It's like choline.
There's like nobody who actually meets reccomended amounts in their diet.

Your posts are a war crime
They don’t even rhyme and are the worst of all time
You need some downtime because your brain must look like a burnt lime

Your posts don’t even make any sense.
It’s like your Trump and I’m Mike Pence.
You better have an immense pretense for your nonsense or I’ll just dispense you like Monsanto does a lobbying expense.

it literally is just because of the sugar, sugar is technically a mild stimulant. People don't just put sugar in their coffees for fun, its because they like it even more, and subconsciously stimulates the reward system. This is why coca cola is so successfull and loved by kids
