I mainly use windows 10. I see no reason to use a linux system. But I like kde, Mint linux, if we look at the spinoffs from .debian, they tend to get updates, around a month from update from Debian. I may be wrong, gotta dig into stuffs. I have basically had enough for now.

I have done this for a while. Maybe this has been said, Ubuntu was gained to be popular from a wealthy person from South Africa who offered live cds install cds across the world. Sounded good, so I asked website for ten cds. I installed and didn't take long so back to crabby windows. So really I do like win10.

I like minimal systems. And build up from there. So pclinux 93a and has been my system. Currently darkstar community edition is perfect, x64. Might have to FTP it.
https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/os/Linux/distr/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/live-cd/64bit/

Gnome had been my favorite I guess base. Or UI. But not really anymore.

I have seen linux distributions that try to be everything. Sure people need like 5 terminals 5 browers that they wont know anything about. Or want to. I mean I think
buntu stuff uses synaptic or apt-get, which is fine. APT-Get is fun. Compiling applications is fun.. When it doesn't work especially. If that makes sense.

it's seen as the "best certificate" by a lot of boards and execs of corporations, and they only want to hire "the best". I've seen CCIE jobs with $60K salaries advertised, same deal. The company doesn't know what they want, they don't know who they want, they just know that certificates with these letters come well recommended.

Hello all, I am posting from a computer running a cracked copy of Windows7 Ultimate. Basically I want to ask if installing certain M$ windows updates, kb4474419 and kb4490628 will brick my machine. Backstory: I am trying to fuss with my nvidia settings for a specific program. The nvidia control panel crashes and I suspect it's because my drivers are out of date. My last driver version is from Jan 2020, and the new one seems to be just a few days old, so I'm really kicking myself over not attending to this issue just a little sooner. The nvidia driver update won't install because I don't have these windows updates. Will I just never be able to use the nvidia control panel again?

migrate microsoft virtual pc vm?

What is the easiest way to convert a Microsoft Virtual PC VM to something like virtualbox, vmware, or even hyper-v?

My work has a vm that runs their machines but they "upgraded" to windows 10 and the software will no longer run due to arbitrary restrictions. That is, microsoft vitual pc.

I need to get that VM moved over somehow, there is a ton of old, unique proprietary drivers and software on it for our c&c, we migrated it over to a vm more than a decade ago because the original hardware failed and was irreplacable.

it's a windows NT machine, if it matters.

Vmware player is kinda annoyin. But whatever. understandin what files are comparable.

So understand, win 10 is workable. II mean this is possible.
Lets try this, vmware, one needs to edit files. It is simple.

I guess, simple one is to file to another in a file. Make sure you fk it up the first time.

If you can't be bothered to back up the VM and google migration solutions, the easiest way is to buy a $50 HP Prodesk on ebay and run it the way you've been running it without telling anyone.

My iPhone alarm will go off but it’s always at the lowest possible volume. Every fucking article says “go to sound and haptics under settings and turn the slider up!!1!1!” But the slider is literally at max and I can’t find anything about this on the fucking internet because search engines in 2021 are fucking useless. Help.

No U. Troubleshoot it like someone who isn't retarded. Does this only affect the system alarm function and/or one particular alarm? Are you sure you're setting the correct volume setting and that it isn't being overridden? Do all other audio channels and speakers have the expected volume?

Trust that I have already done all the searching and still haven’t found a viable answer. Here’s the long version: my silent switch is set to OFF so any ringers or alerts will play at full volume. I can open the YouTube app and play a video at full volume no problem. I can get an incoming call and hear the ringtone volume. This basically means my volume is completely normal.

NOW, when I set an alarm in my clock app (not any 3rd party shit, this is the phone’s native clock app) it will sound the alarm at a quarter the volume of everything previously described. Upon my valiant expert level google searching, every single answer says to go to Settings>Sound & Haptics and move the slider to max, which is all the way to the right, naturally. When I open that screen, my slider is set to hard right, pic related. I’ll move the slider around a little just in case it’s fooled itself into thinking the volume is all the way down. Then, I test the alarm. Still at the same quarter volume it shouldn’t be at.

I didn’t say search engines are useless because I didn’t use one first, fag. I said that because I spent 15 minutes going thru page after page finding nothing. So either help me out or suck me off, your pick. No need to be fucking rude.

Here is some possible advice, Maybe try resetting it to factory state. Maybe take the freakin thing to an I-store. Maybe make an appointment for I-store before hand. Maybe find warranty information. Maybe offer which phone and fill in the blanks to a iphone forum. Surely IPhone has some sort of tech support. Use your phone to get support just for fun. I do not do
apple anything, free even, just not my thing. https://mashable.com/article/apple-security-vulnerability-ios-macos-ipados

K what what I would consider is factory reset, update see if issue persists. Or Istore if that does not work.. Or Warranty. I know somebody who spent like $900 freaking bucks for an IPhone, Something like that.

My android phone costed like 120 dollars and was discounted to like 60 dollars. Not outdated either. like you care, obviously. K try this I dot not know IPhone, try removing the app, then reinstalling, whatever method, IStore, I guess one would have to create an account maybe. Maybe see if a thrd party app fails. See if apple Apple offers app to increase volume for specif app or a fix. Just throwin stuff out there.

Windows I use all the native native apps, for everything.

for reasons undisclosed, i am considering letting somebody remote in to my computer using a program called anydesk. I share a computer network with my parents, who do their banking from their home computers. Do I run in the risk by letting this person who I do not trust explicitly into my computer on the network? What can I do to allow him to use my computer and the Internet without exposing my family to risk?

OK, I don't care. I don't know, say a laptop. Say windows, go to the website and burn an ISO to DVD.

I guess move files you want to save to a named folder. Use powershell to create /cd.
Drag powershell to toolbar to start off.

know the file names, groups of file names .jpg? Use I think mv command to move files to folder. So one could create a folder cd
create direcotry

I think irfanview to organize your files would help. I assume. Drag and drop. Use Ctrl to pick files, Right click to create folder,
to create folder.

Personally, it's probably the server I used to run on a bare-ass wooden board. Hard drives and PSU mounted one side, motherboard screwed down to the other.

It eventually caught on fire.

But I don't have a picture of that, so check out my actual monitor from yesterday.
