Having a Soundblaster Z but wanting a better Microphone

Unsurprisingly the Microphone that came with Creatives Soundblaster is total crap.

I'd like to step up my mic-game now but I don't know how.
So many Reviews and recommendations on YT just didn't make sense to me.
So many microphones used USB, but why would I need that if I have already a dedicated Microphone-prt on my Soundcard?

Can you recommend any good mic that doesn't sound like a bathtub made out of tin-cans?

I don't want to use headsets, since I'll be swapping my headphones rather regularly, but I want a mic that will stay with me and a mic I don't have to basically swallow.

I had a Iukus-mic for some time, loved the sound-quality but it doesn't have a on- and -off-switch.

USB microphones are powered microphones with built in amplifiers. The alternative, recommended for anyone serious about audio quality, is to buy a mic and a standalone audio interface. If you take the money you would spend on a Blue Yeti and put it into a mic and interface, you'll get similar quality. If you don't want to do either of these things, get one of those Zalman clip on things and call it a day. Anything more is a waste of money.

If you didn't throw serious money at your soundcard, the mics over USB are likely better quality. I have a mic with audio cable and its quality if very hit-or-miss, depending on which of my PCs I plug it into. The cheapo Logitech H390 USB headset I have, on the other hand, has very consistently decent quality. (The speakers on it unfortunately are underwhelming.)

Not only is it super nosy (wants my clear adress and name when first setup),
but it literally can't export the source-material with the same settings I used for recording!

Whether its 4k or or UHD from my Action Cam,
Every fucking time I export my media it has some obvious quality-loss!!

Doesn't matter if I choose the highest bitrate or HD (doesn't even have a 4k-Resolution available!).

You do have to disable UEFI for the Win 7 to play ball, unless you really wanna fuss with it. It is possible but I think you have to modify the image. This is usually called Legacy boot option or similar in a BIOS.
Use RUFUS to convert your Win 7 iso to a USB stick. It'll recognize it as a windows disk and know what to do.
Architectures that are Kaby Lake or newer won't work. Bristol Ridge or newer won't work on the AMD side of the coin.

The people in the image are business owners and they do not believe that everyone deserves respect.
I am looking to either force them into respecting everyone, or force them out of the system entirely.
My current idea is to spam their emails and phones so they cannot get anything done, but I have not been able to find any sites for this that still work. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.
Also, if you have any ideas, I am open to anything and am willing to try anything.

They also resell UPS and FedEx shipping against the rules of these two companies, and have been for years, which I will rat them out on as a last ditch effort if they will not be agreeable.

They believe that respect is something that is earned by how well people fulfilling their demands, instead of something that everyone deserves.

So my computer is in a room with an open window next to a river. The river was very foggy the other day and the room felt damp. Im worried about corrosion from humidity on my motherboard. Should I be worried?

I don't want to move my computer because am open window is important to me psychologically and I cant embrace dark room with no windows. I just want some kind of assurance my computer components wont rapidly corrode but I know the laws of entropy and the action of water on metal too well. Any solutions that wont require me to move my computer? BTW i need the window open to hear the birds and also to dry my clothes

So long as there's no condensation, humidity isn't a short-term threat. If you want to operate in a humid environment though, you either need to take it apart to clean it periodically or accept that the hardware is going to die prematurely. Keeping it dust and smoke free will help either way.

Change Android aspect ratio and other issues

File: 1577906103975.png -(2124783B / 2.03MB, 2280x1080) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size. Change Android aspect ratio and other issues
So I got a new phone for Christmas, a Moto G8 which as far as I can tell runs stock Android 9 with a couple extra built in apps for gestures etc. I'm having four problems with it and I'm hoping you good folks would be so kind as to help.

The first problem is the really wide aspect ratio making older games have visual bugs.
For example on my screenshot you can see gray space on the background where new images appear as the camera pans, usually this would be happening off the side of the screen. Is there a way to force certain apps to think the phone has a standard 16:9 ratio or at least a way to set a custom resolution globally so I can toggle it when required?

Second problem I discovered when trying to take a screenshot with the game actually playing - on older versions of Android you could press the power and volume down buttons to instantly take a screenshot. Now I have to hold the power button and press an on screen overlay. There are two problems with this, the first being that all the games I've tried it in instantly bring up the pause menu, making taking screenshots of actual gameplay impossible (hence why my pic is of the main menu rather than in game, where my first issue is much more distracting), the second problem is that even if I solve the pausing issue, holding then pressing makes taking an image of something time-sensitive impossible. Is there a way to restore the old method of taking screenshots?

Third issue might just be me, but there is no way to capture a slow motion video. I can change the settings between 120 and 240fps from inside the default camera app, but there is no way to actually start recording. Do I need to download a different app for this or something? Seems strange you can modify the settings but not actually activate the feature.

Fourth issue is the flashlight, my old phones always gave off a constant light, the new phone flickers or strobes the light. So using it in an actually dark room is nauseating, I don't know how many epileptics will be killed by this model phone, but I would bet my life savings it won't be zero. Is there any way to adjust this to be a constant light source?

Thanks in advance and a happy new year to all!

best I can say is know your credentials beforehand. go to settings and reset
the phone to factory default setting and start over. know your router settings.
A lot of times doing a hard reset is all you need though. happy new year to
ya back! If this doesn't work, do know a few things like where the phone came
from, what phone plan, a few simple things can make things very difficult to
get a faulty phone repaired or replaced.

you can force a custom resolution and the aspect ratio will follow with it. Use adb command for non root, or a terminal emulator in super user mode if you have root.

You can make a shell script to change rez and density, then use termux and termux shortcut to use use shell script as a widget. But you'll need root for that.

The screenshot issue can be fixed with a Magisk module. Again root.

You can install gcam for the slowmo effect.

Flashlight issue may be OS dependent.

Honestly most of your problems seem to be OS dependent. I'd just unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM + root. There's a lot of guides on xda. Search for your phone model + "xda".

For case, I'd say your choice falls into two camps, will you be water cooling or going air?

Gamers Nexus is a great case reviewer, and has his hands deep in the industry.

Fractal Meshify C is a pretty versatile case, has pretty good thermals for air, but can also run a radiator. Looks neat.
Lian Li LANCool II Mesh came out recently, and is a decent average case with great thermals.
There are lots of similar offerings from companies, but those are my two picks after watching cases for a few years.

Other tid-bits, save for the new product launch - which usually means lower current gen prices, but lower prices usually take a bit to set in.

AMD 3600 is like the optimum price to performance right now. Intel still has better single threaded performance, which translates to better gaming performance if you are willing to splash out some more cash.

Be aware of the main output on your system, the monitor. Shoot for the 125hz at 1440p, and the system to render at that rate. Refresh rate will offer more immersion, and is more important than a higher resolution, imo. The higher refresh rate is so much nicer, and you will notice it. Makes playing twitchy games that much better.

Industry is slowly leaking out 4k development, right now that is accessible by dropping 1000+ on a card, and that's the next step up, but that's only for 4k 60FPS. The real enchilada to get excited about will be when cards starting rendering at 4k at 120+ FPS. $500 dollar 4k 120FPS based god.

I am interested in this OS, but I know very little about it. I’m going through the standard user manual from the main website, but I was wondering if anyone here has ever used it and, if so, what the benefits of it are versus Windows, MacOS, or
Linux? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Much like AROS and Haiku, it's a continuation of an OS from the 80s and 90s that was once respectable but is now a novelty. All of the best ideas have been copied. They don't have new ideas. The only reason you would ever use one of those OSes is if you personally like it.

If you want an alternative OS that very few people are using but is actively developed then take a look at Redox OS.
