Remailer, using I guess proxies, to send mail to recipients, without the originating IP address. Like your ISPs email server ip address, not being revealed to the recipient.

In basic emails, one could see in real time the originating senders IP address. As fast as one is sent.

Mixmaster, sending emails through multiple servers. To essentially not being able to correlate the original post sent, to a recipient. Through hops, to one server to another.

Where one server may hold the email for say 7 minutes, the next hop may hold, then send to the next server for a few minutes. On to the next server, on to the destination. So it is not a real time
process.

Can be used for what was or is usenet posts as well.

This is history, like 1996. One can look up web based re-mailers. There had been
re-mailer clients, hence mixmaster.

Jap proxy server, obvious was obvious.

Crowds was a proxy like-service, that was intended, to make users anonymous through users' base.
Like the more users, the more difficulty to target individual users. hence 'crowds'.

https://www.howtogeek.com/233383/why-was-80-chosen-as-the-default-http-port-and-443-as-the-default-https-port/

If one were to scan for proxy servers, like proxy-hunter one would scan IP blocks. For ftp services, usenet services, whatever.

Open services, sometimes people leave these services open to test server load. Kind of a brilliant idea, to see how things work and fail. Security checks. Load balancing I would guess.

People get mad that their server they are working on, gets slammed. Well, that is the test.

One can make any port use any service. Around 56,000 port?s

In the US, port 80 is generally unencrypted web servers. As well, port 443 is almost always encrypted. SSL/TLS.
Many countries use port 3128 for web services..

Just messing around with ideas.
