What's the utility of tobacco for you?

I've dipped for >2 years and always just used it to chill out. Pack a moderately sized lip after dinner, once a day, and that was pretty much it. Not many positive or negative effects to speak of on my health or mental state.

But doing it for that long eventually has taken a bit of a toll, and I know I'm putting myself at a net disadvantage. I recently switched to snus, which I'm loving for the most part as it gets me the same buzz, but with no spit, better flavor and presumably less health effects. And that's just General, all I can find at the local gas stations, until I venture out to some of the specialty tobacco shops and find more (my state outlaws shipping of online baccy products).

I still can't figure out why I like nicotine at all though. Weed has a distinct effect on the way I think which I've become familiar with and appreciate. Amphetamine makes me into a workhorse (although became a bit of a problem so I'm laying off that once again). Coffee is like amphetamine-lite, and I have a morning cup only ~a couple times a week. Alcohol is the premiere drug for socializing. But nicotine remains a black box to me, so to speak. I know the native and south americans regarded it highly and used it to cleanse the body (sometimes violently, puking and shitting) before ritual drug ceremonies. So what's the modern use case for baccy?

I mostly use it to suppress my hunger, I'm kind of neurotic about my weight so I'd rather smoke a ciggy and fuck up my lungs then eat a hamburger. Other than that it's mostly something to do when I feel like getting slightly altered but not enough for weed or alkyhol.

After a day of physical labor, a fat lip of tobacco is very relaxing. At least, it used to be. Nowadays I rarely get that toe-tingling, muscle-relaxing nicotine buzz from dip unless I pack an absurd amount all around my gums.

Aside from that, tobacco satisfies my drug cravings when I don't have the fun stuff or can't afford to be unsober. It's not euphoric, but it gives me the feeling that I'm still doing drugs without making me sloppy or crazy.

There's probably some psychological shit about an oral fixation behind my tobacco use. But I don't mind going without tobacco when I have stims or some other type of recreational drug that can be used daily, so I think it has more to do with my constant urge to be on drugs.

I have some of this stuff too it's great. I keep it in my freezer so it's nice and cold when I put it in.

A few other brands I like are Ettan, General Mint, and Lab 22 Xylitol.

The Lab 22 in particular is hilarious because Xylitol fights plaque and prevents cavities from forming.

If you get snus that it is dry you don't even have to spit. For anyone that wants to reduce smoking and doesn't like American smokeless tobacco this stuff is great. It tastes much better. Snus is pasteurized instead of fermented like American dipping tobacco which supposedly not as bad for you.

I'm legit mad. I typically straight long cut grizzly. Love it. Felt colorful today, tried the town favorite wintergreen. I got the premium dark wintergreen. It sucks and I hate it. I'm gonna finish this can slowly and try normal wintergreen, but if I don't like either I'm going back to my reg. Like I don't even see the point if flavored dips. I love the taste of the tobacco itself.

Simple. More nicotine and smoke (oxygen deprivation) at once. You can feel the same if you dip big chunk of tobacco and you are not used to to that much nicotine.

This. I really do not like aromatics at all. When I smoke, I like to taste the tobacco. However, what's in them is fine. Cheapish but fine. Blenders tend not to use the best stuff for aromatics for these bulk, over the counter aromatics, but there's nothing wrong with them.

Exactly! I don't mind flavored tobacco, it's just that most of the time it's not the highest quality leaf going into the blend. Frog Morton's Cellar is a nice whiskey flavored english blend. Bourbon Blue is one that uses virginia and dark fired kentucky only, and it's pretty good as well. Only actual fruity flavored one I liked was a sample baggie of Drew Estates' Grand Central.

If you were to happen to lose a cigarette before smoking your "lucky", would that be considered bad luck since technically there still exists another cigarette from the pack you haven't smoked? I found one of mine broken in half and tossed it.

Luck is an illusion.

But if you want to go by your logic of it... if you lost it, it wasn't very lucky, was it? Perhaps even unlucky. You might of dodged a bullet. You could of gone out to smoke it and got mugged. Or stabbed. So treat that new lucky cig with the respect it deserves.

What's the best way to remove the stains on your fingers that you get from smoking? I've always had them slightly when smoking pre rolled cigs but now that I switched to rolling my own, they are way worse and terribly noticeable. There are a lot of home remedies out there and I'd like to try some but I want to know which ones have worked for you and what are the more effective ones.

I live in Canada and Canadian cigarettes are expensive ($10-$12 per pack to America's $5 or less per pack). Not only that, the US of A seems to have a larger selection. I used to smoke Next Gold, they're a nice balance between strong/smooth. Rothman Specials and Belmont Special are good medium body smokes too if I remember correctly but Belmont's are fucking luxury tier price-wise if you live in the western provinces, they used to be dirt cheap to buy in Ontario as far as Canadian smokes go but that could have changed, its been awhile.

so 3 weeks ago, out of boredom i decided to try a nicotine spray i happened to have, 3-4 sprays was heaven at start, the euphoria was amazing, it got me thinking all happy thoughts and dancing, just being in an amazing happy no worries zen state, helped me focus on things and get my motivation going ,anxiety also disappeared.
So i kept at it for about 10 days when the spray was no more, using about 8 to 15 mg nicotine per day, then i borrowed a friends vaporizer to see if it would be the same, Not quite the same buzz, but it still kinda felt good, used about 25mg nicotine/day.
Well i gave it back, deciding that vaporizing wasnt for me, since dosage wasnt quite exact ,and i didnt really like it much.
Now i got myself 105x2mg chewing gums.

but the euphoric buzz is gone, the positives have also diminished , i need to chew like 5 gum to feel anything....so i guess, it's time to stop.

I really want to experience the magic that i felt 3 weeks ago, with my virgin tolerance.

How long do you think i should stop to go back to base level (no smoker, occasional spliff). And should i taper off slowly? (i've got like 90 gums left,so i can reduce intake slowly, or would it not matter ?

All the packs here have some warning label on them showing something awful that could happen if you smoke, and I read that 1/2 of people who smoke their whole lives will die from some smoking-related illness. However I can't seem to find any of these people. I see old guys smoking all the time and none of them have cancer, the worst I see IRL are people coughing a lot (COPD?). No one I know has gotten a serious illness from smoking. What happens to people who get cancer, do they just withdraw from society or commit suicide?

If so many people get sick from tobacco why don't I see them more often? I'm not doubting that tobacco causes illness, I'm just saying they should be everywhere but I never see them.

Archieving perfect feeling sedaded chill with nicotine

I'm a very random cigarette smoker and sometimes using pipe tobacco with a pipe as well as an e-cigar. Mostly going with nicotine gum though. Not feeling addicted though - it is always random and not every day. I begun to use it for anxiety, but I'm not anxious anymore and now instead using it for stimulation. I read that if you take small amounts of nicotine it is stimulating, and if taking large amounts it is nicely sedeating. I am having trouble archieveing the later, but I'd like to. Problem is, when I've reached stimulation, which is fun, if I keep doing more I soon end up feeling nauseous and uncomfortable instead. Should you just keep pushing it? I've only few times reached the nice sedation and it was always by smoking pipe really hard but very slowly - building the state over as long as one hour. Any tips? Am I just unfortunately oversensitive? I know u could chill out with weed, but that on other hand feels overly sedative and I mostly don't prefer the slight psychedelia and affected run of thoughts + here it's illegal.
>>
Jack Blengershaw - Fri, 16 Jun 2017 19:28:43 EST QOQPJPOQ No.173540 Reply
Nicotine isn't sedating at safe doses, too much of it might make you feel faint but that's only happening if you take enough to cause nicotine poisoning. If you mean the relaxing effect people get from smoking tobacco, it's caused by a combination of smoking technique and other chemicals/toxins that are in the tobacco smoke that can influence the effects of the nicotine. There's lots of chemicals in tobacco besides nicotine that can influence the buzz, some have a mild psychoactive effect(like maoi type effects) and some are just helping to cut off oxygen to your brain that can seem sedating I guess, it's more noticeable to recreational smokers than addicts who smoke on a regular basis.

You won't get a sedative effect from oral dosing the nicotine, have a beer or something with the nicotine if you want a more relaxing type experience but that's just a guess, I don't know how oral/sublingual nicotine feels with booze. Some people like to smoke cigarettes only when they're boozing though, it's called getting crossfaded and feels quite nice.
