Is it better for you to let a wet Tobacco like Copenhagen dry out somewhat before dipping? After awhile the Tobacco dries out, which I don't mind, I might even prefer it, but I was wondering if there are fewer nitrosamines and so on that are harmful in drier tobacco.

Thanks. I actually feel loads better than when I was smoking cigarettes all day. I just chew now. At times I stay up all night doing things and dipping and end up accumulating too much nicotine and undoubtedly other things as well. I would buy Redman if only I knew where to find it. It's not at my usual convenience store.

I pretty much have only one pet peeve about smoking and that's when you go to snub out a cigarette when you're done with it and there's just one little ember that still stays lit and starts burning through all the cigarettes in the ashtray, burning the filters making the room smell terrible

Once in Charleston the whole cigarette disposal pole outside the courthouse got lit up from the inside. Nothing to do but sit on a bench and eat an almond butter croissant with coffee upwind. I don't trust the damn things now.

Oh, pet peeves is people tearing the edge of my soft pack cause they don't have the patience to get a cig out when I bum one to them. Some dopey kid at my welding class is trying to make my cigarette addiction into his game, bumming a smoke then a light and having the nerve to ask multiple times for each and yammering on the phone instead of being chill. Not a peeve just wanted to share :3

I used to smoke my friend, however the transition to snuff and chew really is a game changer, I'm not here to hold you all back, I'm here to just say my opinion on it, like you are.

Also abstinence is a very ignorant word to use specifically because it is on a specific topic, and how I am into tobacco and rub myself, that's about the same as saying video game players are abstinent for NOT playing video games. Think about what you say next time.

Right because smoking is totally a radical thing that all the cool kids do nowadays, kid, the cigarette rate has been lowering and transferring to snuff and vaping. Vaping causes popcorn lung and basically anything that involves smoke with shit you do not know what the fuck is in it, is always a risk, I am risking my gums and teeth for cancer rubbing snuff but I take the extra step you see. I brush my teeth after, then I eat raisins, which are scientifically proven to lower the amount of cancer and cancer cells. I then proceed to use mouthwash to then cleanse my gums and teeth AGAIN after having raisins on it after my chew, because of raisins miracle of a effect that kills off cancer and cancer cells. I have never had any problems with my teeth or gums. The government says its harmful but think about the extra steps before you say anything.

I can rub and do this and end up fine. But how are you going to take that built up smoke and tar and all that mucus shit out of your lungs? They couldn't replace that, which is why it's widely looked down on.

That has been going on for a couple of years, if I am correct. But I have a question for you smokers. Why must you ingest tobacco by INHALATION? I am not here to brag because I chew snuff and am aware it is bad too, but you do know that tobacco's purpose was literally as not to be burned and be chewed. The burning of tobacco nowadays (because of all of the shit the tobacco companies put in them), are literally fucked and release all of these toxic compounds, then you proceed to go by and inhale these toxic compounds. Back in the days when Native Americans owned land and they had their camps, before Americans took that, they had literally logged out the smoking of wild tobacco which is about 8-10% nicotine, and was also usually inhaled by the nose of these Native Americans, directly sending it to the mucus membranes by their nose pipes, and you never seen lung cancer cases back then. So I'd like to ask, why do you smoke willingly to the companies that fuck your lungs up even thought its only 2-3% nicotine whilst you could actually smoke something and not fuck your lungs up besides some sickness rarely and maybe even never get sick by using wild tobacco. It's not about you smoking, it's more about these companies and all this weird shit they put in their cigarettes and their tobacco. Tar? Who needs or even wants tar in anything that they ingest, even me, if I knew that snuff had tar, I'd be done. I suggest you all start growing wild tobacco and rolling your own, because I would not trust cigarette companies, I usually make my own snuff myself, I rarely rub with regular company made snuff.

Even though there has only been 1% of chemicals that have been found within 6,000+ chemicals and they are still studying in cigarettes, it is still disgusting to me. And I would not like to ruin my lungs neither, but I am going to post some information for you all smokers.

However, there can be smoke without fire. The harmful components of tobacco cigarette smoke are products of incomplete combustion (pyrolysis) and the degradation of tobacco cigarettes through heat (thermogenic degradation). Complete combustion occurs at a high temperature (>1300°C), higher than the heat generated by smoking a tobacco cigarette (<800°C). Typical markers of pyrolysis and thermogenic degradation of tobacco cigarettes are acetaldehyde, an irritant carcinogenic volatile organic compound, benzoapyrene, a carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, and carbon monoxide.

We used a smoking device designed and tested in our facility to capture the mainstream aerosol and developed to meet standards for common cigarettes and e-cigarettes. We followed the International Organization for Standardization standards for puff volume (35 mL) at 2 puffs per minute, based on observation of IQOS smokers, who took a mean of 14 puffs during 5 to 6 minutes. We analyzed volatile organic compounds and nicotine by gas chromatography coupled to a flame ionization detector and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a fluorescence detector, as previously described. We trapped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from IQOS cigarette smoke in a glass filter (Whatman 37 mm Ø GF/B) mounted in line with an XAD2 cartridge. For each sampling, 10 IQOS cigarettes were smoked. Each sampling support was desorbed in 10 mL of acetonitrile and sonicated for 1 hour. The eluate was evaporated in a vacuum concentrator (Speed Vac SC-200, ThermoFisher Scientific) set with 30 millibars and 27g until the residue was almost dry to prevent evaporation of the most volatile polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. The residue was filtered with polytetrafluoroethylene membrane (Acrodisc CR 13 mm, 0.45 µm, Pall Life Sciences) before it was analyzed with a high-performance liquid chromatography device (Ultimate 3000, ThermoFisher Scientific) equipped with a fluorescence detector (FLD-3000RS), UV detector (VWD-3000), and a separation column Nucleodur EC 150 × 3 mm C18 3 µm (Macherey-Nagel) under isocratic conditions (1.2 mL · min−1). We injected 2 µL into the high-performance liquid chromatography chain; methanol/water (70/30) with acetonitrile was the eluent solvent at an initial ratio of 100% to 0% (4 minutes) and a linear gradient up to 100% acetonitrile (12 minutes).

>Wilsons of Sharrow Best SP, Irish Coffee, Samuel Gawth SP No.1 and Frebourg and Treyer Seville
The Seville and S.G. SP No.1 have taken time to grow on me. I have heard that nasal snuff is an old man's vice. These two aromas remind me of Grandma's Vanity and Grandpa's Trouser Drawer, as best I can describe them. After using them, over time I have come to appreciate them more.

My favourite snuff I've tried so far is actually from Peru, made by the indigenes of the Amazon and contains spices and chacruna. It smells of cumin meets cayenne and tobacco, with psychotria viridis perhaps adding it's own aroma.
Runner up has to be Wilson's of Sharrow's Best SP, which I will blow through a 10g tin in a week or two. Soft in the nose with hints of citrus, and eucalyptus I think.

The F&T Seville is by far the most complex and nuanced scent. I now use it maybe once every while.

I've got two whole bottles of that Peruvian Rape(pronounced rap-ay) coming. It's just too good. Also have a 100g bag of Toque Rustica snuff. Will be looking into buying up prepared raw Nicotiana rustica for ceremonial and occasional smoking.

My father purchased for my first carton of cigarettes bought on reserve land during a time where the price per 20 pack at the convience store reaches $14 on average, absolutely mad to imagine having to support that, fuck.

I had no way to get tobe for a while, I wasted hundreds of dollars on those egregiously, near-explotative price. Some months into my freshly reaquired tobacco habit came a friend of mine buying up cartons on First Nations land and then reselling it illegally to people that can't afford wheels to reap the benefit of the priviliged smokers who can actually go the minimum 60-minute trip outta town at the minimum to get to the nearest reservation selling tobacco not taxed by Canadian government.

Fuck, bruh. Feels good to hold onto this beefy 200 cigarette carton. What a relief, gotta find me a way to go back out there, purchase another for $50. I just can't imagine myself going back to getting slapped with that price like a chump. Fuck I'd feel so useless every dollar I spend intensify the chump-punk-bitch sensation

Wide open, outside areas. Maybe trying to cut down on waste and pollution, most smokers are lazed out assholes when they're done their smoke, ditching it on the ground

Better to contain all the smokers to one single area and just focus-clean that

But shit, perhaps it really is some sort of discontent, distaste, maybe (but probably not) hate us smokers. It's like politicians (probably local) try to look like the city is cleaner and front like they protect you from damage to your health when really all they're doing now is just moving smokers way out of sight

How far a dude gotta walk through the wind and the rain just to get to the smoke he need he addicted to tobacco too he doesn't choose this for himself nessecarily, I mean smokers really can suffer tobacco addiction, you'd they have some place in their heart left to provide a gazebo or wind-cover, at least a smoking spot instead of kicking everybody all the way out to the sidewalk.

Discriminatory, excessive, not a move that would improve public health by any notable margin I feel. Empty actions to appeal to the majority in the masses.

There's many howtos already out there, but this is mine.
This one is locally produced.

So you want to smoke a pipe.

To smoke a pipe, you will need a pipe.
At a first pipe you don't need to (and should not) spend a lot, and might be detrimental to your experience if you're scared of ruining it (you can). And a more expensive pipe does not necessarily smoke better.
Your options,
Corn cob pipe:
  • Very affordable
  • All of them smoke well
  • But not "classy"
Clay Pipes
  • Very clean taste, only taste the tobacco
  • Cannot burn out, can handle being tossed in a fire
  • Usually cheap too
  • Available with stems
  • May have too tight draw
  • Fragile, don't drop it
Cheap briar
  • Varying quality, not necessarily dependent on price
  • It's a pipe.

So you have a pipe.
Now to smoke your pipe, you also need
  • Tobacco (duh)
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Lighter/Matches
  • Pipe tool (for stoking/packing your lit pipe, emptying, etc)
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Hey, noticed I never got back to you on the flakes.
FLAKE TOBACCO stuff:
Pressed tobacco comes in a bunch of different forms,
most common is flake. Looks like rectangular slices, vary in thickness from thin like a bacon strip and thick leather. Can be handled in a bunch of ways, easiest is just to rub it out a bit and stuff like regular tobacco. Either just between your fingers to keep it a bit more thick than usual, keep some flaky characteristics, or put a flake between your palms and really grind at it to get it to mixture type fluffiness.
You can also do some variation of fold or roll it up and just put it in your pipe, but it'll smoke very differently than usual, and also slower. In my experience it can be hard to get it the right thickness, since it expands a bit when you light it up. What I will say though is that it can be more resistant to windy conditions when you get it right. Lighting is more of a process too, important to get it evenly lit all round, but when you've got it going it will keep lit more easily.
Something inbetween would be to cube cut it, just take some scissors or a knife and cut against the grain to make a diy cube cut. Much easier to deal with than folding, but keeps most of the burn characteristics. Just pour some into the bowl and you're done, it's so dense so no packing needed. Easier to get lit, cause of the increased surface, but also will smoke slower cause of the density of the cubes. In short, best of both worlds. Only, there's a small risk of the whole bowl of tobacco falling out when turning the bowl over to get excess ash off. Haven't figured out if that has to do with cube-size or if maybe the bowl was too smooth and uncaked, too little friction. Also a cube can block the bowl-hole, and the last part can be hard to finish, but I figure it'd be an easy fix to fill up enough rubbed out tobacco to cover the airway and it'd fix both problems. Or maybe put it in a cob, they feel like they have more bowl "grip" inside, rather than the smooth wood.

Then there's coins looks kinda like flakes but are round and spun, cut from a tobacco log kinda. You can actually buy a whole log, but it's a super uncommon format, only one I know is Peter Heinrichs curly block, pic related, would really like to try it sometime.
Can treat them mostly like flake, except they're easier to just fold and stuff, the shape makes packing less of a hardship to get right, easier to light. Just bunch some up and put them in.

Then there's cake.
Essentially just uncut flakes, big brownie shaped thingie you carve flakes from. Tends to be more tasty and potent because of the tobacco getting to meld together better as one uniform big piece in the tin. Just needs a sharp knife and you can carve as thin/thick pieces as you'd like, or the weather demands. Thick will resist wind better, but it'll also taste different. Some will taste weird if you slice them too thin, burn too quick.
(Also not to be confused with crumble cake, which is just mixture pressed together into cubes. Those you just break pieces off with your fingers and crumble up. Real cake has layers of the actual leaves, which you cut against the grain to get the whole mix.)
