Recently I've been adding a few pinches of coffee to my dip tin for flavor and caffeine.
Do you ever add anything to yours?
I got the idea from cowboy coffee chew, stuff is great

I just bought myself a humidor and I'm in the process of seasoning it right now. Similar to the one in this pic. I'm really new to this though, I work at a smoke shop so I just grab the cigar I want each day out of the walk-in humidor at work, and smoke it at some point that day. Therefor, I've never had to worry about maintenance before.

Just wondering if any fellow 420channers have some good tips on maintaining humidity that might not be obvious right away. Maybe you guys have some specific product recommendations? We sell the Bovida packets where I work but that's it. What do you guys think about those, is there something better? Also the one i bought has a built in, analog hygrometer on the front, but I've heard it's better to get an external digital one. Thoughts / recommendations on that?

Cigar noob here, just ordered a 5 pack of Arturo Fuente's to smoke on the weekends when it's nice out, never really been much of a smoker besides weed(I've had a few cigs here and there and enjoyed it but never really wanted to get hooked on them). I bought one of those packets for 50 cents and I was planning on throwing them in a giant mason jar, will this be alright? Also any tips for smoking it?

Just make sure it's sealed and not in direct sunlight, I'm keep it between like 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Not a good long-term storage option, but that should do for now.

Has anyone tried this brand? I haven't dipped in a while and I just want something that tastes good and gives me a decent buzz while I knock a few beers down.

These come in 2mg and 7mg.

I'm open to any other alternatives that I can pick up from a smoke shop.

snus, like the silver tins. Seriously, i have noticed people smoke almost nothing, or way less. 5 bucks a tin, that can easily last a week or two. Or a pack a day or two for 8 bucks.

Smoking weed did make me quit smoking with some efforts on my part. Fell like smoking a cig, smoke a hit or two and go for a walk or do some pretty active exercising. Put as much effort, and much more into not smoking, as you do to smoke. Smoke for 5 minutes, exercise for 5 minutes, then tell yourself to exercise another 5 or ten minutes to make it worth it.

Smoking is completely worthless. Stop smoking, notice people smell horrible.
te sell of tobacco is not as bad, but peoples clothes, smell like piss and poo.

Serious, people who smoke smell horrible. They are like crackeads. In all the
industry uses ammonia and other chemicals to manipulate cigs to hit the brain, nervous sytem, heart faster. Heart disease, everything. Any Dr. will say the best thing you can do for your health is to quit smoking.

i losy family to smoking. My dads girlfriend got COPD, once you achieve that, it is not reversible. Usually on oxygen you entire live. My dads GF smoked for decades, got copd. On oxygen 24/7. I was not there but she had to go t othe emergency room, barely able to breathe. She was carried to he car with her portable oxygen and mask and choghed and blood sprayed her clear breathing mask. I know she likely didn't live more than 6 months after that.

Just saying, just don't smoke. take every moment you would be smoking or working towards your next smoke and make a better future for yourself.
I call it smoking personality. people become kinda dum after they smoke, they become kinda dumb personality wise before needing a smoke.

Smoking, smoking has more control over a peson, than people have over cigs.

You never know just how you look through other peoples eyes.
In the US, back in the 80s anyway, a friend got the last pack
of camels of the the design after the new design came out,
at the mall from a vending machine. They made laws that
the machines had to be out of sight in a corridor, usualy
near the restrooms.

Laws later changed the smoking age to 18, before I
turned 18. Same with 3.2 beer. No big deal. Cugs were at most $1.25 a pack, even less.
Generics did not exist. Except for the black and white brand, called generic cigarettes.

They were supposed to put disturbing art work on packs of cigs by now in the US.
The tobacco lobby pretty prominent. But lawmakers are trying to raise smoking
lawful to 21 years of age. Surely the ads you have oncigs are pretty umm, gross.
My not look as glamorous as it used to be made out to be. But keep smoking em.

Expensive and good cigarettes.

I have a guy who can buy me cubans regularly and is asking $30 per cigaro
Is this very reasonable? They are pretty standard cohibas you might find in cuba as a tourist.
Also, if I'm smoking and notice it is helping relieve a headache without weed or anything else, is it just because I'm an addict or something else?

Idk. I've yet to see or smoke a cuban, but a majority of our Cohibas which aren't Cuban are like 12-25 USD. So if you add the status of them being Cubans plus the fact that they're probably not casually accessible, maybe that's about right. Always depends on the specific cigar, too, I guess.
if I were sure that they are legit Cubans, I would pay that. I can tell you that much.

I'm not a legit tobacconist though so don't trust me 100%

Would it work out if emptied the clove "cigar" onto a rolling paper and smoked that. Has anyone done this? Is it a waste of six bucks?
Bumblefeck McGee - Thu, 08 Nov 2018 18:09:27 EST qZgOC8my No.174175 Reply
It'll work, I like an occasional clove cig so I've tried that method and it works exactly as expected, another option is to just make your own clove tobacco which isnt hard by any means.
Get some whole cloves from the grocery store, cut the stems off and dump the heads into a jar of your choice of tobacco, you can stop there and still get a good clove smoke but I also like to take a bit of whole cloves, grind them in a coffee grinder, then I mix it with grain alcohol, strain it, dump the shots worth of clove infused alcohol into the jar then set it on a plate to dry, really gives it some extra flavor without having to add more cloves to the smoke. Any of the methods work well enough tbh, so your choice.

Interesting that I stumbled upon this thread now; I just got done smoking my first self made clove cigarette. I don't normally smoke since I switched to vaping a while ago, but ryo clove cigs are good shit. I used a menthol flavored filter for mine cause I'm a sucker for menthol. I separated the heads from the stem and crushed them very roughly because if you leave those mostly intact, they'll make that characteristic popping noise as you smoke them. I used a mortar to finely grind the stems since they won't burn well if you leave them in big chunks. For the tobacco, I used American Spirit with a clove: tobacco ratio of 1:3.

hey /tobacco/ first time posting here
i have been rolling my own cigarettes for about a month now using a bag of ohm turkish pipe tobacco. it was the perfect dryness and cut and i sort of assumed that all pipe tobacco would have the same dryness.
i was wrong
i ordered a half pound of different flavors of pipe tobacco from sutliff on a site online.
it came in much much wetter than the ohm tobacco.
i rolled a cigarette of it in my little rolling machine and it came out all sticky and covered in resin and i had to re light the cigarette every 3 or so drags.
please help me out here guys what do i do?

Glass doesn't soak up moisture so I wouldn't think it'd be very enjoyable. I've tried a small (but real made for tobacco) one before and I didn't get much taste out of it, needs the bigger bowl. And weed resin and pipe tobacco really doesn't mix well, is like trying out tea but drinking it out of an unwashed beer can.
A good corn cob pipe is cheap. Clay can be cheap too, but they're more of a dice roll how they'll smoke. Then if you find you like piping you can look into grabbing a better briar one.
Rebecca Worthingshit - Tue, 11 Dec 2018 11:02:07 EST 8QK9gsO8 No.174206 Reply
Adding some prices for reference;
Cheapest (new) real briar you'll find will be about $20, and it'll probably be a bit sucky if you don't make a good dice roll. $40 for a good one, and once you hit $50+ you're just paying for branding/reputation at that point. Could probably find a good quality preowned one for maybe $20-30 but then you'd have to know what to look out for.

Clay would be about $15, but some have much too tight draw to be usable. As long as you don't drop it it's more weather proof though. Can't burn out since it's clay, so will hold up in strong wind.

Cob would be between $5 and $15 depending on the style/model, but they always smoke well. As long as it isn't a cheap chinese one, those burn out very quickly. Missouri Meerschaum makes really good stuff, I'm not even in America and I enjoy them enough to feel that the import tax was worth it.

All have their good sides, and if one finds themselves liking pipe smoking one would do good to have one of each. A tobacco you'd find bland in one type of pipe might shine in another. The cob is a good start though. Most beginner friendly.
