Hey guys :)
Got my first tank. Sorry to be such a noob but have some questions.
What exactly does the voltage do? Mine goes from 3 to 7.5. I've left it on the default of 4.
Also, what is the 0.48 number on the left about?
Thanks guys appreciate it

the .48 number is the resistance of your coils. The lower it is, the higher your watts/volts can be. Watts/voltage is how much power your vape is putting out. For instance, my coils are at like .33 right now, so I run them at 50-60 watts, or 4.1-4.5 volts. The watts and the coils have customization so you can build something that gives you what you want out of your vape, be it clouds, flavor, or whatever. It's weird because your mod is showing 0 watts despite being at 4 volts.

As I understand it, you want to adjust the watts, not the volts. There's more range of options for wattage. Try clicking the button that adjusts the voltage quickly three times, that's how I switch between watts and voltage.

I knew this would be posted, this was posted by a former employee [iirc] who was disgruntled about their original facility, and this was the same one, they have since moved and this was one of the reasons for having moved from the previous location. The building was in bad condition from a written statement I believe they had issued about the whole thing. Either way, for what it's worth, been vaping it for almost 2 years and it's been damn consistent and good everytime for me.

Need help /vape/
I've got a Kangertech Evod, and I'm consistently getting a nasty taste out of it. I'm using some kind of mixed berry flavoring that's been fine up until now, but I started getting a burned taste out of it earlier today. I've replaced the coil and cleaned the shit out of the whole thing and I'm still getting this terrible flavor. Any idea what's going on? I've only had this thing for a few weeks.

Update: I read a few tips that said to try hitting a couple times without hitting the button and that seems to solve the problem temporarily, but I haven't had this issue before with any of my other coils. Should I just ditch this one and toss it? I can get refill packs for not too much but I'd still like to know.
Pic related is the one I've got.

U may not be able to get good taste due to burning out cotton too fast. Even a brand new coil can get instakilled thanks to a harsh hit.

The cotton needs primed - apply a few drops, watch it soak into the cotton then leave in a full tank for up to 5 mins. Also do the thing u mentioned about a fake hit. Pulls the airbhbbles out of the cotton wick and soaks up better.

Also, try to turn down the power or disable the TC-mode if your battery is able to Temperature Control, idk. I had the same problem because I used too much Watt.

Furthermore pay attention to the liquids you're buying. If the liquid is too thick (because of VG ratio above 70%), you might get a burned taste due to a lack in liquid fluency.

Every night, before I hop into bed, I vape the hell out of my room, it is always so cloudy

Had me thinking, is it even safe to fall asleep with a room that is so cloudy?
surely it takes hours for the clouds to clear, so essentially I am breathing it in for half of my sleep every night. I am unable to open any windows as I get raped my mosquitoes within minutes.

I'm sure many of you do the same, just wondering if it is going to be doing any harm?

So I got the CCI Phalanx box mod months ago as part of my first "serious" vape. I never got another one because after all the money I put in my set up and it going horribly wrong I never wanted to risk something like that again.
The first week was awesome. The mod and the CCI Archon RDA produced huge clouds, and I didn't have to worry about charging the batteries much since it uses 3 at a time. During the remaining two weeks I used it the button (or something) started messing up more and more. At first it wouldn't fire sometimes when I hit the button, then it'd work half the times I hit it, then like 1/4th, and until finally the button only works like one out of ten times I press it. Even then I would have to press it very firmly every time. The reasonable amount of pressure on the button needed at first won't get it to go no matter how many times I hit it.
I came across the thing while looking around in my room and felt inspired to try again. Any fucking idea what the issue is? I've done some googling around and I only found one forum post elsewhere talking about the same problem I have with the same mod and no one could give an answer. Is there some common problems some box mods have no matter what the brand that could cause this?
I really want this to work. I barely smoked any cigs at all when it was doing fine, and I desperately want to quit smoking. Nowadays I really don't have much spare money so just buying a replacement of this or another brand isn't really an option.
BTW, I did take it back to the shop I got it from and asked about it. They pretty much said, "Iunno. No refunds tho."

The switch is advertised as mechanical so you're probably going to need to disassemble the box for cleaning and maintenance, as detailed in a forum thread I saw via a quick "phalanx box mod not firing" search. All except one of my mods are fully mechanical and eventually require disassembly for cleaning and maintenance.

After vaporizing weed for a few months i noticed that i cough less compared to times when i used the bong, but i still cough. Usually it happens in the beginning of the next day after vaping. And i vaping every evening, in small amounts, but regularly.
Does the coughing means that im vaping it wrong? I usually try to avoid the combustion, but weed doesnt turn black, most of the time it becomes dark brown. Maybe i inhale the vape too deeply? When i inhale, i dont see anything. And i hold the vape for 2-4 seconds.

Damn, sorry, i was high when i wrote the post. I meant that i dont see anything when i exhale. But when i inhale it looks like little cloud of vape. After inhaling, i often feel slight burning in my throat and i drink a lot of water to calm it down.
I dont have any possibility to use vape through a bong or water pieces. And my vape i cheap, its similar to Palm if you know the model. Unfortunately i cant buy anything better.
My throat is often sore when i wake up, but i dont think that its related to the cough. Yesterday i vaped another little amount and got high, but before gong to bed i coughed approximately 5 times. I hope that you are right and its related to hotness of vapor, because if its something else, maybe im better off using a bong? Though i coughed more when i had been using it. I dont know what to think.

sorry for the false advice, I thought this worked but it really doesn't.
Both OCC's (horizontal and vertical) and the RBA give spit-back, leak and have burnt taste after several uses.
I have tried countless coils and cotton thicknesses.
I went back to the shop and they're still shilling out the same kanger shit.
There is no point in rebuilding an OCC, especially not a vertical coil; I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong with the RBA.
If I can't get this shit working within a week I'm just gonna buy a different tank/RBA or quit nicotine.

I went to the doctor for something unrelated to my lung health and mentioned I'd successfully been able to cut way back on smoking through using a vape. When I asked her the health risks of vaping out of curiosity(Everyone has a different answer it seems) She said that due to all the preservatives and chemicals in ejuice it's not much better than smoking at all.

What do you guys know about the health effects of vaping? I'm looking for actual fact based contributions, not just diehard vape fanboys who would support it if it meant inhaling powdered glass. I'm sure there's somebody on the internet selling preservative free natural ejuice, would that make any difference?

Depends on your build. Watch the screen and set watts so that when the volts move up or down it reads 4.20v. that's the voltage that freshly charged batteries come off at, and wil help guide you. Go up slowly.

In addition to Quetz's advice, for anyone out there trying regulated setups having used mechanicals, I recommend underestimating the voltage necessary to get a good hit, i.e. start below 4.2V or 8.4V despite all the mechanical marketing tactics and hype of low or no voltage drop.

For example, a 0.14Ω 22g KA1 dual 5/4 2.5mm build reads 126W and 30A at 4.2V but running that build at an actual 126W at the atty would be dry hit city. Nevertheless the build probably hits okay on a mechanical but that's because the numbers run saggy while firing. Likewise a 0.5Ω 24g KA1 dual 12/11 3mm series build will run hot at 8.4V but probably hits better on a mechanical with fresh batteries running 7V and lower at the atty.

after a quick page search i did not find anyone recommend the SMOK tfv4 kit. RDAs used to be a lot more popular because the technology of the tanks was subpar a year or two ago. RDAs used to be king for flavor, smoothness, and cloud production. now tanks have caught up in technology and are just as good with the added convenience of not having to drip every 10-15 fucking puffs.

do some research on the SMOK TFV4 and SMOK TFV4 mini. both are a great choice, tons of customization, are great with high wattage box mods, easy to use, easy maintenance, cheap replacement coils/cotton piece once every week to two weeks depending on how often you vape. you'll be able to taste when you need to replace it.

I vape low nic (3mg) basically all day at home if I'm not at uni or work.

Whenever I'm away from home for more than 1-2 days, like right now I'm at my parent's house over easter, and don't vape I get stomach ache and gas. I don't really change a lot in the food I eat or drinks (water and coffee all day), I might be sitting on a different chair and move around less, I can't really tell where this is coming from and it sucks.

Does anyone else get this? I know that nicotine impacts digestion
