Hey d00ds. Coming from /stim/ in hopes that you guys will know more about this.

FIrst off, I smoked throughout most of my teenage years, at one point hit almost a pack a day. Then smoked on and off for a few years. Started "vaping" when e-cigs first appeared, wasn't impressed, then stopped smoking + vaping altogether. Years later, I'm here trying to find alternate ways to fight my ADD and seeing how much vaping has evolved, I decided to try it again.

I used to smoke cigs originally to help me calm down + socialize, but we all know how fucking shitty cigs are in so many ways. Switching to vape juice, it's obviously cleaner with the same stress calming effects thanks to nicotine.

However, I keep reading about nicotine helping people focus. From getting things done, to motivation, to even being used as a preworkout and in preworkout stacks.

What I can't understand though is why I don't really get this effect.

Instead, I just get relaxed. If I take too many puffs, I get a slight head pain that goes away after a few mins, but never achieving this supposed amazing focus effect that people claim to get. Is there something I'm missing here? Does anyone here have any kind of dosing strategy they use to not get too relaxed on nicotine? I'm not expecting nicotine to be a strong stim here, but I can't seem to achieve this effect that many claim to get.

If you are looking for study effects then vaping prolly isn't a good go to. activation of the nicotine receptors has been linked to better learning and problem solving, however, as a past daily smoker your tolerance will always be high even after just 2 cigs after a T-break. I recommend you try nicotine gum and patches or you could just get the highest amount of nicotine you can in your juice to just force past the tolerance, though I would recommend against the latter as it's just a step ladder to higher and higher doses for no reason.

Nicotine is a stimulant. The only reason why smoking calms habitual smokers down is because they are addicted. Give someone who has never smoked some form of nicotine and they'll definitely feel a heightened alertness and a general stimulated feeling. I remember the first time I ever had a cigarette I went dizzy and my eyes kept darting around for like 5 minutes before it just kinda wore off. You probably just have a naturally strong tolerance to it, despite not smoking in a while. Everyone's different.

I forgot where I read it but caffeine works the same way. In the study, people who don't normally drink caffeine were given caffeine before a test. They consistently scored higher when compared to a test they took without caffeine. Additionally, habitual coffee drinkers who were given coffee scored almost exactly the same as non-coffee drinkers who did not have any coffee. When the habitual coffee drinkers were not given any caffeine, they actually scored lower than everyone else.

To put it simply, like any other addictive substance, nicotine and caffeine establish a new "norm" for your body if you consume them regularly in sufficient quantities. If you go without, you're going to feel agitated until you smoke/drink coffee again -- at least until your body readjusts again.

hey so

My friend made some before. He just added caffeine to PG until it was saturated. It didn't take much as it had terrible solubility in PG

We'd put a drop or two on each coil then drip some normal liquid on top of it. I definitely felt a mild buzz, but it was probably the placebo effect. When we did the math there was hardly any caffeine in a drop. We were considering doing some experiments on our friends to get a real answer, but decided it wasn't a nice thing to do.

It didn't seem to harm me or my vape anyway. You should try it yourself. Caffeine and VG are cheap.

Which type/brand of vape has the best performance:cost ratio? Ease of maitnence, extra buttons ect. are not as important as price and vapor quality(?)

This also makes me wonder, does the nicotine "buzz" you feel from a vape scale with the price? What is the most dirt cheap way to get a satisfying vitamin N fix aside from dripping the stuff on your tongue?

I have never really found an answer to this question over the last few years. The first one i mean.

Set yourself up with an MVP3.0 which I believe goes to 60watts now. Or the normal 30 watts is fine imho. Its a usb micro charging internal battery boxmod that is regulated, meaning you wont kill yourself unless youre brain dead. Grab a DeltaII tank, and enjoy your vaping experience, this setup shouldnt run you anything over $665 after taxes, assuming $30 a piece of hardware.

I have one and its the same setup, just the 30-watt version and I use it more often than my Sigeli 100w plus gold edition, only because sometimes I want to be more "portable." I and the MVP provides that with a smaller profile.

Mech mods all the way. Not that I'm necessarily recommending one, but they're cheap as hell and as long as you use a good battery the performance is mostly going to be dependent on your build.

>This also makes me wonder, does the nicotine "buzz" you feel from a vape scale with the price? What is the most dirt cheap way to get a satisfying vitamin N fix aside from dripping the stuff on your tongue?

Not really, as long as its not complete garbage you can compensate for a lack of power with stronger liquid.

I'm sure that when smoking first became a thing, you never heard statements such as "WE GET IT YOU SMOKE BRO."

Fast forward plenty of decades and it's been discovered that smoking is harmful. Healthier alternative to smoking becomes a thing and everyone who does it is considered douchy by a pretty big number of people. It really blows my mind how much the benefits of vaping are so overlooked literally because of the fact that it produces big clouds which are for stupid reasons, associated with arrogance.

I mean the other thing too is that I totally associate smoking with blowing out clouds, so it's good that this alternative (vaping) also allows you to exhale clouds. That sense of satisfaction from blowing out clouds is just another quality of vaping that makes it better. I wouldn't enjoy vaping as much if clouds couldn't be produced, because a familiar aspect of smoking would be gone, but instead, not only is that quality still present, but is greatly increased. I heavily enjoy blowing big clouds, is that really so douchy? It seems so difficult for people to wrap their head around the fact that maybe, just maybe, in a non-egotistical way, people actually enjoy seeing large amounts of vapor come out of their mouth when they like to relax and enjoy their nicotine. Is that really so hard to believe?

>they're just as bad for you as cigarettes
Make sure you look into whatever study claims this.

There has already been one bogus study posted in a mainstream medical magazine (new england journal of health, I believe) that claimed false things about normal use of vaporizors because the devices were brought wildly out of spec, basically breaking the devices, and running them at temperatures far in excess of what is normally possible. They literally burned the e-juice in the tank and then tested the SMOKE, not vape because they actually created combustion in these broken devices. This smoke was hotter and nastier than anything you could even stand smelling for a moment, let alone inhaling as regularly as a vape or cig.

Later on, one of the leads in the test admitted that the test was done with purposesly "re-specced" vaporizers that were not functioning normally. He agreed that the results he provided were then published in a skewed way, leading people to think the results were for normal vaporizers and vapor clouds.

The smoke they tested had burning plastic fumes as well as combusted e-juice.

You would get alot of toxins if you fully burnt your burger and inhaled it or a fucking cigarette. Vaping will never be as bad as smoking, as long as it is actually VAPing.

Buying shitty vapes should still not create smoke, but you still want to have the materials be as up to snuff as what you eat off of (at least). You don't eat off certain materials, don't have them in (the ingestion related elements of) your vape either.

tl;dr there have already been scandalous "studies" published that have later been questioned on bias. Do your own research. Learn that not all vaping is created equal, there is better way just as there are totally different ways (like dry herb vaping, and even proper dabs).

Ok so I'm just getting into vapes, but I'm well aware you can dissolve drugs like 3-fpm, meth, ect in vapes to take hits low-key. How do you do this? Do you just take normal e-juice or veg g/prop g and drop your drugs in there and hit from it normally or is there something else to it?
>>
Simon Pittdock - Tue, 08 Mar 2016 20:35:13 EST eOUQbPq2 No.2109 Reply
Pretty much that. You dissolve your drugs of choice in PG (generally), optionally add flavoring and/or VG and vape it. Some chemicals don't dissolve that great in PG. In that case you'll have to do some research on an alternative solvent. Make sure to keep track of your weights and volumes so you know what concentration you're vaping.

New Box Mod (Help me decide!)

So I'm fairly conflicted here /vape/. I plan on ordering a new box mod soon, but I'm really torn between two devices and I honestly can't decide which to get.

If you can, would you guys let me know which of the two you'd get (and if you TRULY prefer a different device and would rather have something else, let me know which of the two you'd choose if you HAD to, and let me know what your real choice would be).

Right now the choices are:

>Kanger KBOX 200W
I'd like it, because it's got TC, 200 watts, etc. and it only utilizes two 18650s, which is more manageable imo considering the batteries have to be married.
Basically KBOX 200W for Convenience.

>Reuleaux RX200
I'd like it, as it also has TC, 200 watts, etc. and from what I've heard is a powerhouse. But it utilizes 3 18650s (which is probably WHY it's a powerhouse) which would be harder to manage. And I've also heard recently that the RX200 has short 510 connection which can be damaged by certain Tanks/RDAs, which is a concern.
Basically RX200 is for power.

So right now I'm leaning toward the KBOX 200W, (which is fine, as I think Kanger makes great products, and I love the design, etc.) but I have this nagging feeling that once I order it, I'll regret it and wish I had went with the RX200. But I have the SAME feeling about the other

Cheap pen vaporizers

Im thinking of buying some cheap vaporizer. I know that majority of them are shit, but im starting to have health problems with bong and i dont have money for more expensive vaporizers. So i need to buy something that would work badly, but at least would work and function.

At first i wanted to buy snoop-dog g-pen, but i've read a lot of reviews that it never vapes the weed, only flames it, so there is no healthy benefit. But pulsar should have some automatic temperature limit that wouldnt let temperature rise up to combustion level. Anybody tried to use this vape with weed?

Addition: guys at /weed told me how pen vaporizers sucks and gave advice to buy some other titles, but they are not available to me. I dont live in US and dont have credit card. The only shop that is located near me sells these kinds of cheap portable vaporizers:

Skyda 5-L, Taylor Gang MicroG, Launch Box, JAG, Atmos RX Raw, Pinllet, Pocket Vaporite, Vape Case Arizer Solo. Anybody tried to use something among these vapes?

Im thinking milk and honey, and none of that super custard stuff like unicorn milk or anything. I just want a simple vape.

Also, are there any online shops where i can buy marijuana e-cig juice that gets you high and order it to my house? That would be rad.

So been running The Clear XJ13 cartridges as my current poison of choice since there's only a faint sour smell that's not really noticeable, some have a brief weed smell I don't want while stealth vaping. Only thing is that over time, it seems to linger on some of my shirts. One shirt I had was very sour smelling, and I couldn't wash it out and had to eventually throw it away.
Does anyone else have any issues of it clinging to clothes over time?

I'm using the rebuildable deck even which is only single coil (I think 7 or 8 wrap 24 gauge?), it comes with a prebuilt clapton and a triple parallel coil. This shit will drink juice. 30ml lasts anywhere from 3 days to 7 depending on how much I vape/sleep.

Exactly. It's not hard to go through 30ml in a couple of days if you're chain vaping through a tank. It's fairly easy to just keep taking hits and end up with an empty tank after a handful of hours.

And if you've got a 4.5ml tank, that means a 30ml bottle only has 6.6~ refills in it.... On good days I only refill my tank a couple of times. On bad ones, maybe 3+ times...

Remember, this IS drug use, so the normal conventions of addiction and tolerance still apply. Give a person who only smoked a half a pack a day a vape with say, 3-6mg in it, and they can probably make a bottle last a week. Give that same amount to a person who smoked 2 packs a day, and it might only last a few days.
People differ, and their intake amounts are going to differ. It's not that difficult to understand why.
